Voluntary Action North Somerset (VANS)

Who we are

Voluntary Action North Somerset (VANS) is the main link for the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector in North Somerset. We support Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise organisations, and people in North Somerset to make a difference to their communities, now and in the future. One of our main roles is to develop volunteering opportunities and to encourage people to volunteer.

We engage with organisations across the VCSE sector through our own local forums such as the Chief Executive Officers (CEO) / Leaders Forum, Children and Young People’s Forum and the Volunteer Co-ordinators Network. We attend events across North Somerset to talk about our services and particularly to promote volunteering and our brokerage website. We produce a monthly e-newsletter which reaches over 900 people and actively promote voluntary and paid roles, local events and resources for the VCSE sector in North Somerset via our social media channels.
