Who we are

VODG represents over 100 organisations within the voluntary sector whose work is focused on enabling disabled people of all ages to live the lives they choose. VODG believes that an ambitious, reliable and vibrant voluntary sector that works together is critical to achieving this aim.

VODG’s mission is to support our members to achieve excellence and to influence those who can improve the environment in which they operate. We use our members’ expertise to set the agenda and constantly seek ways in which we can make a difference. We believe that policy making should also be informed by the views of disabled people and those they wish to involve. As part of an ambitious plan for growth, we aim to be recognised by key stakeholders as the leading voluntary sector membership body working in the area of disability.

Although VODG has many members, its central team is small, and the person appointed to this role will need to work closely with colleagues working in membership and business development, as well as the highly respected CEO. We are a small, distributed team, that works in a fast-paced environment. We all work from home but regularly meet virtually as well as in-person. This role is also home-based abut may require some travel.
