Why me? are a national charity which campaigns for and delivers Restorative Justice. Restorative Justice transforms lives by facilitating communication between the person affected by a crime, and the person responsible, through a face to face meeting where appropriate. This gives the person who was harmed the opportunity to seek answers about the incident, express how it affected them, and explain what could be done to put things right. It also helps the perpetrator to see the real impact of their actions, and can encourage them to change their behaviour. Restorative practice can also be used for other harmful behaviour outside the criminal justice system, such as to address conflict in schools or in the workplace.
