Sister Circle

Who we are

Sister Circle is a charity putting women's health first. We provide holistic support for women living with challenging circumstances, who are at the highest risk, of experiencing poor health care during pregnancy and beyond. Our vision is that every woman has access to the healthcare services she needs to have good mental, physical and social wellbeing to thrive. The women we support, are mostly from ethnic minority backgrounds including, new migrants, refugees and asylum seekers.

You will be joining a multi-cultural team of women, who are dedicated and passionate about making a difference to the lives of women. Sister Circle delivers three support programmes for women: 

• Maternity Mates programme, volunteer-led support during pregnancy, birth and labour and post-natally.
• Healing Conversations, a trauma counselling service, available in four languages; and group peer support for women, who have experienced pregnancy loss and birth trauma.
• Her Health, one to one health advocacy support for women, who have experienced female genital cutting, may need support to access physcosexual counselling, cervical cancer screening and menopause clinics. Six week women's health programme is delivered through our women's conversation cafe taking place in local community settings.

Relationships of trust are central to our work and we are committed to a learning culture within the charity. You will share the values of Sister Circle and be committed to addressing equity within our women's health services.
