We are seeking a Property & Facilities Manager who will be responsible for managing the day to day running of the properties of Richmond Team Ministry and their facilities. The properties include three churches, their associated church halls, vicarages, Parish Office and investment properties.

We are looking for someone with property and facilities management experience including managing small building projects and related finance and budgeting.  S/he needs to be able to work collaboratively as part of a small team and have the ability to take the initiative and develop the role while supporting the ethos of the Richmond Team Ministry.

The position is based in Richmond upon Thames. 

District Secretary for Administration and Compliance

This is a senior leadership position in a merged organisation.

1. Collaboration with the District Chair and the District Secretary for Ministries & Vocations in the leadership of the District, and promoting the values of the District in all work practice.
2. Collaboration with the Mission Area Leads to facilitate support of the circuits in relation to the responsibilities of administration and compliance issues.
3. Responsibility for compliance with all relevant legal, financial, and governance matters, including compliance with the relevant parts of The Constitutional Practice and Disicipline of the Methodist Church, including:
   1. budget and accounting, in partnership with the District Treasurer;
   2. data protection;
   3. lay employment processes;
   4. safeguarding.
4. Working with the District Safeguarding Officers, the District Safeguarding Group and others to ensure safeguarding processes for the District are robust and effective.
5. Responsibility, together with relevant District officers and bodies, for strategy for property and finance across the District, and for its implementation.
6. Enabling the District Property Consents group to fulfil their responsibilities regarding property matters within the District.
7. Coordinating the District Grants Policy and its implementation through the District Grants Committee.
8. Ensuring that the District’s responsibilities for Reconciliation and Complaints are fulfilled, including liaising with the other District Leaders and ensuring the appointment and functioning of the District Local Complaints Officer and District Reconciliation and Complaints Support Group(s).
9. Collaboration with the District Chair and others to ensure good practice in internal and external communication, including through the District Communications Officer.
10. Engagement with the District Policy Committee and the District Scrutiny Group processes and meetings.
11. Fostering good and collaborative working relationships with holders of relevant district volunteer posts.
12. Other areas of responsibility as agreed and assigned by the Trustees.

Key responsibilities include:

• Equipping and empowering children’s leaders to enhance their communities and engage with children and the issues that affect them.
• Enabling children to experience ‘Fullness of life with Jesus’ in broader contexts. This might involve leading event and residential opportunities as well as children’s work in corps contexts.
• Contributing into the planning and review process for the programmes and activities across the division.

This role has an occupational requirement that you must be a committed and practising Christian. As well as being an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and organisational skills, you will have:

• A recognised qualification in youth work and/or good experience of working with young people in outreach, discipleship, and leadership.
• Practical experience of developing community youth outreach projects and schools based mentoring programmes.
• Relevant technical skills, including project management, finance, stakeholder engagement, social media.
• The ability to work flexibly including evenings, weekends, overnight and residential weeks when necessary.
• A clean driving licence

Key Responsibilities

Spear Programme

• Lead group sessions of up to 10 young people, using coaching skills to transform their mindsets, and to maximise their potential in stepping into the world of work
• Prepare and deliver coaching sessions on a weekly basis and find creative ways of developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees. This includes running application workshops with past Trainees as well as maintaining records and reporting on statistics.

Relationship management

• Build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, and other organisations
• You will support with job fairs, mock interview days and welcoming external visitors to the centre

Church Community

• The Spear Coach is directly employed by Citizen Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community

To maintain good practice standards, provide timely information and advice to local churches, and operate a robust casework service.  To sustain and further develop a comprehensive safeguarding training programme that delivers nationally approved training effectively and with impact. 

We are seeking to appoint two experienced Safeguarding Officers on a permanent contract; altogether 1.3 full-time equivalent between the two posts, with hours being negotiable with successful candidates.The post holders will have a relevant professional qualification and be able to demonstrate a proven track record of direct safeguarding practice with vulnerable adults or children or both. The role of Programme Lead (Training and Reconciliation) is a key new position in supporting Place for Hope’s strategic goal of growing our partnerships with faith communities to support and equip more people to reach their potential as peacemakers. 

The Programme Lead will co-ordinate all work related to our new 5-year partnership with the United Reformed Church (URC). The partnership will involve two key areas (i) the development and staged roll-out of a mediation team within the URC who will work ecumenically with the wider Place for Hope Practitioner team; and (ii) embedding the understanding, skills, and confidence in how to deal well with conflict, change and difference through a set programme of trainings. 

The Programme Lead will draw on the entire Place for Hope team (staff and volunteers) to develop and deliver an agreed 5-year programme plan. The role will also involve supporting the wider work of Place for Hope, particularly working with our training team to deliver our training programme (online and in-person) with a wide range of partners.

Previous experience of project management, training, as well as excellent organisational and communication skills are essential to the role. The ideal candidate would also have an interest in supporting faith communities to transform conflict and a willingness to undertake CPD provided by Place for Hope to build their knowledge and skills in this area. This is an exciting time to join Place for Hope and play a pivotal role in equipping individuals and faith communities to choose peace in times of fear and division.

About the role

About you

You’re an excellent project manager too - someone who’s comfortable working on complex multiple tasks and prioritising to meet deadlines. We’re looking for an experienced trainer to lead on the implementation and delivery of the Learning and Development framework issued by the House of Bishops.

• Be responsible for the organisation, implementation and delivery of the national safeguarding learning and development framework  
• Provide high quality face to face and online training to office holders (Clergy, Readers, those with Permission to Officiate), employees and volunteers in the Diocese of Coventry.
