Are you a successful major gifts fundraiser who is looking for a new challenge and is keen to work at Europe’s largest conservation organisation?

Our high-achieving Philanthropy Team is looking to recruit a Philanthropy Manager to help grow our donor portfolio and further increase philanthropic income for the RSPB. We are looking for an experienced major gifts fundraiser to join our friendly and hard-working team who will help us achieve our ambitious goals.

You will be responsible for cultivating a portfolio of prospects and donors through a range of engagement, to gain their financial support for programmes, projects and the wider RSPB. Working with colleagues in relevant departments, countries and regions, you will manage donor relationships and solicitation strategies to achieve the best outcome for the RSPB

What's the role about?

As a team player with a positive and diligent approach, you will:

• Look after your own portfolio of donors as well as reaching out to prospects and new donors. You will be responsible for fundraising information to advance plans and ensure prospect and donor records are accurate, incorporating any changes, new activities, updated plans, and new information as well as adding new relationships in keeping with data protection and team procedures.
• Work closely with your team and wider organisation colleagues to implement solicitation strategies, to secure financial support either by direct solicitation, preparing a written proposal, or working with senior management to make a solicitation.
• Be involved in the development of funding proposals for approved priority projects that will inspire potential donors to secure gifts.
• Contribute to the planning of and participate actively in events (face to face and online) to build relationships with donors and prospects for future income and to demonstrate the impact of gifts already received.
• Arrange meetings with individual donors at a variety of venues, including at our reserves, working closely with area and reserve colleagues to deliver an excellent experience for our supporters
• Be jointly responsible for the planning, writing, production and mailing of Philanthropy Matters, our publication aimed at philanthropic supporters.
• Build effective relationships both within the RSPB and external to it that will enhance its reputation and ultimately secure funding. This includes understanding donors’ wishes and aspirations and identifying links with approved priority projects with the aim of securing substantial gifts.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Intermediate levels of fundraising as demonstrated by work successes and recognised fundraising courses
• Experience in how to research and cultivate a prospect. And understanding of how to write a cultivation strategy
• Ability to write funding proposals and prepare briefing documents in advance of meetings and events
• Competent in the use of a CRM system (Salesforce), the Microsoft suite, other databases, research tools and methods
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members, and people and teams outside of our department
• Good judgement when working with donors and ability to recognise potentially sensitive areas between prospects and the RSPB to ensure reputational values are maintained
• Experience of having successfully managed and developed donor relationships leading to substantial support.

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

• Experience or interest in the environmental sector

This is a full-time, permanent role and you’ll be joining the organisation at an exciting, defining and hopeful time for dementia. You’ll be working in a friendly, busy team and on a variety of projects across fundraising, influencing, research, innovation and brand. 

We’re looking for someone with proven press office and/or journalistic skills and experience to work flexibly across priority campaigns to secure consistent, quality media coverage that instigates and sustains dialogue on dementia. 

You will devise and deliver media activity involving our storytellers (case studies), high-profile celebrity ambassadors and supporters, researchers and thought leaders. Your work will show the devastation of dementia, while sharing the help available and the hope the future brings.

Most colleagues in the media team work from home, but we are open to being flexible and provide you with a flexible/hybrid option to work in our offices. • Use our national campaign priorities to deliver related local campaign activity.

• Organise and deliver training events for people with lived experience who wish to engage as well as campaign volunteers.

• Create content for public facing elements of campaigns, including supporter actions, web pages, newsletter and social media.

• Ability to network and build supportive relationships with volunteers, MSs/MPs and health bodies. 

• Ability to work independently, coproductively and as a part of a team. 

• Experience in organising events. 

• Experience of delivering training to a variety of audiences

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

• Create and edit compelling and innovative social media content optimised against a range of objectives, including the production of graphics and video
• Work closely with cross-directorate teams to develop and implement impactful social campaign strategies, ensuring appropriate messaging and content for specific audiences, channels and placements
• Provide full community management across channels on a rota
• Work with people living with dementia to champion their voices through powerful storytelling
• Support the Senior Social Media Manager to embed social media strategy

Marketing & Recruitment Officer

Role Summary:

The Teacher Development Trust are seeking an energetic, curious and highly organised Marketing & Recruitment Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for education and the important work of teachers and schools. They will  play a pivotal role in increasing our reach and impact by promoting our offers to schools, trusts and other education sector organisations, generating leads and supporting school engagement by executing effective marketing strategies.

Location: TDT’s offices are based in Finsbury Park. This role is mainly home-working, however applicants will need to be a commutable distance to the London office to take part in team days or other face to face meetings as required.

Hours per week: 37.5

Contract basis: Full time

Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per annum depending on experience

Particular to the Marketing and Recruitment Officer, guided by  by the School Engagement Manager:

• To contribute to the creation of strategic marketing plans to promote Teacher Development Trust's services.  Helping to shape activity to provide a better understanding of the efficacy and reach of our products and services and ensuring that information and data are shared effectively across the organisation.

• To utilise various marketing channels including digital platforms, social media, website and traditional marketing methods including email and newsletters, to reach target audiences.  You will collaborate with the team to create and distribute compelling content, promotional materials and campaigns.

• To stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities and emerging opportunities and share this information as appropriate across the organisation to put TDT in the best position to respond in the advancement of our charitable aims and objectives.

• To support the planning and organisation of events such as workshops, webinars and conferences to showcase Teacher Development Trust's offerings and coordinate TDT presence at external events.  This will include representing the organisation at events to network and promote our services.

• To work closely with the internal teams, including the content development and participant experience teams, to ensure seamless service delivery, satisfaction, retention and brand loyalty.  You will also collaborate with external partners and stakeholders to explore potential synergies and business opportunities.

• To support the wider interaction between the organisation and the sector, in particular supporting carefully planned and considered marketing and communications activity as well as responding to emerging news stories and other agendas.  Where appropriate this may include working with journalists and other key sector influencers.

Experience, qualities and skills:

• Proven experience in marketing roles either within the education sector or elsewhere.

• Knowledge of the current educational landscape, including an understanding of professional development or a genuine interest in developing that knowledge.

• An active interest in continuously developing both generalist and technical marketing expertise.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present information clearly, striking the correct tone with a range of internal and external audiences.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Excellent problem solving skills and the initiative to continuously improve.

• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.

• Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms (Salesforce, Mailchimp, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Asana, Divi, Wordpress)  would be an advantage but not essential - the appetite to learn is essential.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

• A strong commitment to education, the non-profit sector and improving educational outcomes for children and young people.

Your goal will be to ensure Family Fund’s strategy is understood, and that mutually beneficial relationships are formed. In addition, you will seek out opportunities which allow Family Fund to achieve its key priorities, deliver added value for funders, and secure positive outcomes for our beneficiaries.

You will be acknowledged as a senior Family Fund representative across the disability sector, deputising for the Group CEO, or Directors on committees and at events as required.

Finally, you will build effective partnerships and proactively develop activities with key organisations across public, private and third sectors.

To be successful in this role you will need to be self-motivated and be able to engage positively with different teams.  You must be flexible, adaptable and resilient to work demands and change. This post is home based with regular travel.

Job Purpose

The Communications Manager will play a leading role in driving Career Ready’s communications activity, working alongside the Head of Communications and colleagues across the charity.

This role will put you at the heart of a range of projects, ensuring that we provide high-quality communications and content that support our programme delivery, stakeholder engagement, and brand awareness.

Role Responsibilities

Stakeholder communications

· Work with the Head of Communications and other internal stakeholders to author and distribute stakeholder communications via relevant channels to support partnership and programme delivery.

· Deliver key colleague communications, including weekly and monthly staff bulletins, and surveys, aligning it to the strategic purpose of the charity and ensuring effective knowledge sharing and staff engagement.

· Support with the delivery of stakeholder marketing campaigns across a range of audiences.

Content and resource production

· Develop and implement a social media content strategy, including day-to-day channel management. 

· Support with the writing, editing, and collation of written content, including case studies, blog content, and news articles.

· Update and produce key publications for our programme delivery, including liaising with colleagues and suppliers to oversee design, content, and production in line with our brand guidelines.

· Work independently and with the Head of Communications and external providers on the creation of creative media content, including photoshoots, graphics, and videos.  

Brand assurance

· Provide advice and guidance to colleagues to ensure all communications are in line with our brand guidelines and tone of voice.

· Help to develop and implement brand assets for use by all colleagues.  

Wider responsibilities

· The post holder will have additional responsibilities and projects set by the Head of Communications, including but not limited to website maintenance, event support, and supporting press and media engagement.

Person Specification

Essential skills and experience:

· Demonstrable experience of working in an internal, fast-paced communications-based role

· Excellent planning and project management skills, able to prioritise and meet deadlines.

· Strong writing, editing, and visual skills.

· Experience of using Adobe design platforms (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).

· Experience of using email distribution platforms (Campaign Monitor or similar).

· Relevant IT skills, including the Office 365 suite.

· Experience of developing and driving forward social media accounts.

Desirable skills and experience:

· Well-developed digital skills to help manage our WordPress website.

· Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks including GDPR compliance.
