Role Purpose

RISE’s programmes challenge attitudes and facilitate long-lasting behaviour change and are driven by the belief that people can make better decisions, given the right support. RISE are specialists in designing and delivering evidence-based, transformative behaviour change courses within the criminal justice system and wider community.
With the main objectives of reducing re-offending and helping to protect the public, the RISE practitioner will deliver a range of interventions (individual and group), that RISE may design, commission or be commissioned to deliver in the future in the community.
Avon and Somerset Police has commissioned us to deliver ‘Chance to Change’, a new informal out of court resolution (OOCR) Deferred Prosecution for 18–24-year-olds in Avon and Somerset. The Support Worker is key to the successful delivery of the Deferred Prosecution Scheme, and will manage cases from the point of referral, tracking progress and compliance. The Support Worker will act as a single point of contact to secure the offender’s engagement, working alongside other partners to address the offender’s needs, with the aim of eliciting behaviour change and reducing reoffending.
Key Accountabilities
Delivery:
· Manage cases with a range of complex needs and behaviours.
· Deliver a range of short interventions which include group work, one to ones, embedding a multi-agency approach in Avon and Somerset.
· Undertake holistic assessments that identify risk and protective factors, and develop bespoke support plans.
· Work collaboratively with the Chance to Change partnership, including attendance at multi-agency meetings where required.
· Track service user’s progress and compliance against their individual Support Plan, reporting back to the ASCEND team.
· Adhere to relevant group work programme manuals and deliver programme sessions to ensure the integrity of programme delivery, which is overseen by the Team Leader.
· Apply specialised materials to support delivery to consider diverse needs, working proactively to provide a non-discriminatory service.
· Be responsible and accountable for working with Team Leader to ensure risk is reviewed on a weekly basis.
· Use motivational interviewing techniques and strength-based approaches in building a range of therapeutic skills to engage with offenders to address their behaviour.
· Encourage and facilitate learning with participants on a group, including proactively working to elicit behavioural change and acceptance of their behaviour.
· Work closely with other professionals to ensure appropriate steps are taken to protect where there is an imminent risk to another person. Apply RISE’s escalation procedures.
· Be personally accountable for the completion of the initial needs assessment, support plans, and end of intervention reports, and ensure they are to a high standard.
· Ensure effective planning for the delivery of each intervention in advance of the session.
· Participate in and pass the necessary training to be able to deliver all interventions.
· Assist or lead on the delivery of training courses.
Out of Court Resolution (OOCR) courses:
· Deliver a range of OOCR short courses online and in person.
· Ensure delivery is in accordance with the RISE OOCR course manuals and process mapping.
· Adhere to course manual sessions and materials and ensure the integrity of programme delivery is always maintained, overseen by the Team Leader.
· Apply specialised materials to support your delivery to racialised and marginalised groups and adjust materials according to meet neuro-diversity needs, agreed by the Team leader.
· Use motivational interviewing techniques and strength-based approaches in building a range of therapeutic skills to engage with service users online and in person.
· Encourage and facilitate learning with participants online using variety of techniques like break-out, noticeboard etc.
Recording and administrative tasks:
· Ensure timely and accurate recording of all relevant data (needs assessment support plan compliance, attendance, feedback, mid-way and end of intervention reports) using systems provided and in line with performance standards.
· Ensure regular contact with the ASCEND team, recording and reporting back offender compliance.
· Maintain an accurate audit trail of all relevant communication with partner organisations involved.

· Develop excellent relationships with customers and respond positively to their needs.
· Be a strong advocate for RISE interventions, representing RISE and its interventions at key stakeholder events.
· Attend Clinical Consultancy to support safe practice and develop resilience during the delivery of demanding work as directed by the Team Leader.

Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults

Post holders with direct offender contact are responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and vulnerable adults they come into contact with. Post holders not in direct offender contact have a general responsibility for safeguarding children and vulnerable adults in the course of their daily duties and for ensuring that they are aware of the specific duties relating to their role.

Essential
· Effective interpersonal skills and communication skills in person and online
· Minimum 1-year experience working with hard-to-reach individuals.
· Ability to effectively undertake risk assessments.

· Understanding of offending behaviours, needs and issues, particularly for young adults.
· Experience of delivering domestic abuse and/or trauma interventions or case work.

· Experience of working with both Families, Children and Service Users.

We have a unique opportunity for an IDVA in a pilot project at Charing Cross Emergency Department. This s a full time 37.5hrs on a 12 month fixed term contract until end of June 2025. Co-locating, in a health service, an Independent Domestic Abuse Advocate (IDVA), a Domestic Abuse (DA) Coordinator and a violence prevention worker has never been trialled before anywhere in the UK.

About the role:
This is co-located at Charing Cross Hospital 4 days per week and 1 day per week at our office near Old Street. You will:
- Implement effective ways of working with victims to increase safety & reduce harm
- Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse
- Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse
- Run group training sessions & share your specialist knowledge with acute staff across the hospital
Please note that the successful applicant will be required to sign an honorary contract with the Hospital Trust in addition to their contract of employment.
You will need:
- knowledge of help-seeking barriers & support needs of victims of domestic abuse
- a good understanding of domestic abuse & it's impact
- knowledge of risk assessment, safety planning & risk management
- understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding thee
- direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people
- good communication, negotiation & advocacy skills, both written & verbal, able to interact with a range of agencies and individuals
- have strong crisis management skills, able to deal with stressful and difficult situations

Victim Support has been commissioned to provide a new, bespoke service in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire which will provide support to those affected by a recent high profile police incident including fraud and other crime types. Some of the individuals and families affected may also need support with the impact of different trauma responses.
The service has been initially funded for 12 months and the roles will be fixed term to reflect this.

About the role:
As a Caseworker within this service, you will;
- Support people who are likely to be impacted by the effects of bereavement as well as being victims of crime
- Make calls to people referred to the service primarily by the police and our dedicated support line
- Assess their needs and any risks and agree a support plan
- Make regular contact with the individuals either by phone, video call or face to face as agreed with them
- Record actions and information on our case management system
- Be able to talk to them about the Victims' Code of Practice and the Criminal Justice System
- Liaise with the police and other statutory and voluntary sector agencies where required
There may also be a requirement to;
- Attend multi-agency or other meetings with, or on behalf of, service users
- Provide support through court and other criminal justice processes
- Signpost or refer to other agencies including mental health and bereavement services
Dependent on the needs of the service users and the changing face of investigations, there will be a requirement to travel to support service users and attend meetings and other events across Humberside.
The successful Caseworker will be someone with empathy, compassion and a professional outlook who can work in difficult and emotive situations.
Due to the nature of the role, clinical supervision will be offered to all Caseworkers.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Service Manager (known internally as Project Leader) to lead the Anti-Social Behaviour Service team in Devon and Cornwall, working 37.5 hours a week.
Position: 5547 Specialist Service Manager (Project Leader)
Location: Homebased (Devon/Cornwall)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours. Monday- Friday
Contract: Fixed Term until the 31st May 2025
Salary: £29,930 per annum (FTE £29,580 per annum plus £350 per annum Homeworking Allowance)

The Role
As a Project Lead for the ASB team you will be:
- Managing a small team of ASB caseworkers including performance management, monitoring and support
- Responsible for allocating cases within the team and analysing statistics and data in order to monitor daily caseloads against resources and look for trends/ pattern of behaviour
- Working with the Operations Manager to ensure delivery of the business plan and associated outcomes
- Responsible for capturing data and information to ensure the work of the team is outcome based and evidenced
- The subject matter expert for ASB within the service
- With key partners, developing mechanisms for identifying and referring those affected by ongoing and persistent ASB incidents and crimes, including those not engaged in criminal or civil law processes
- Completing DSO training to prioritise the safety of service users and ensure compliance with safeguarding policy
- Leading on delivery of training to local agencies, organisations and bodies to represent the service and increase knowledge and understanding of issues related to the ASB
- Contributing to and attending monitoring meetings with funders/commissioners and providing reporting when required
- Playing a lead role in developing VS’s ASB work at both local and national levels
- When the service requires, holding a small caseload providing high quality support to service users in line with VS policies and operating procedures.
The role is home-based within Devon and Cornwall and therefore is open to applicants who both live in this area and have access to an appropriately confidential space in which to work. Regular travel within working hours will be expected across Devon and Cornwall to fulfil the role and travel expenses are paid. Core service hours are between 9am – 5pm, with the expectation to flex to need where required, managed within flexible working arrangements.
About You
You will need:
- As this role involves regular travel across Devon and Cornwall and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement
- Experience of managing a team
- An understanding of confidentiality and safe working practice in accordance with safeguarding legislation, General Data Protection Regulation and other legal requirements
- Experience of effective delivery of services in the voluntary or statutory sector including complex case management and maintaining case management records
- The ability to build effective working relationships across internal and external stakeholders and work directly with in statutory, voluntary or multi agency settings
- High personal resilience to manage demands of working with ASB
- Competent IT and administrative skills including the use of Microsoft Office packages
- The ability to engage with vulnerable service users.
