We have a job vacancy for a Dementia Specialist to join Shine as the Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) / Dementia Coordinator.
Shine has a membership of over 14,000 members living with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus and associated conditions and over 6,500 associated members.
In the last year we have seen a 25% increase in members who are living with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. There are currently just over 600 members with NPH, plus their carers registered, but we are expecting this to continue to rise as awareness and diagnosis of the condition grows.
We are looking for an experienced, skilled, organised and dedicated new staff member to join Shine’s Services team to develop and lead our new NPH service.
Purpose of Job
To be the Dementia specialist for Shine.
To provide the foundations for improved health, social and emotional outcomes for adults living with NPH/Dementia and to support their families/carers.

We are looking for a part time Information & Advocacy Community Support Worker in Scotland. You will be home based living in the North of Scotland.
You will ensure that service users (children and adults) and their families, receive high quality support, from the point of diagnosis and throughout their journey, and will assist them to access funding, equipment and care and support that they are entitled to. You will join a team that makes a real difference to the lives of the people living with muscle-wasting conditions, and their families, in Scotland. The role will be primarily home based, but there will also be a requirement to attend outpatient clinics within the region, attend home visits where appropriate and to support responding to queries through the helpline and information inbox. Some travel will be required to attend meetings and events outside of Scotland. You will work with both statutory and voluntary organisations, clinicians, and health and social care professionals to ensure that people living with muscle wasting conditions get the care and support they need to live well and independently.

About the charity: Cavernomas look like raspberries and are found in the brain and spinal cord. They're formed of abnormal blood vessels with thin leaky walls, which can bleed at any age without warning. 1 in 625 people are thought to have a cavernoma, and whilst most people won't experience symptoms 1 in 2,700 do. Symptoms can include haemorrhages, seizures and other neurological problems. Treatment involves 'wait and see', neurosurgery or stereotactic radiosurgery; with no medications currently available.

About the roles: The Member Support Assistant is responsible for assisting our Volunteer Manager with administration relating to the support of the charity’s 4,000 members and volunteers. This includes offering a professional service to members of CAUK, typically via phone, email, online, chat, or on occasion in person. The role involves supporting the membership and volunteering processes, ensuring all admin is accurate and up to date. Our Little Stars project for 0–12-year-olds has been established for over 5 years supporting younger members and their families with their diagnosis and beyond. We also have a growing Teen membership known as FIRE (Friendship, Independence, Resilience, Equality) Working alongside our multi skilled, established team, you will be supporting members across all age groups and building on the great foundations already in place.
We are looking for an Early Intervention Project Worker who can cover the South of England, primarily you will be home based, supporting members through phone calls and using online platforms. You will be required to attend clinics, events and meet members one to one where necessary within your allocated area and occasionally across wider areas and nationally.
Purpose of the role

To deliver Shine's Little Stars (funded by The National Lottery Community Fund) project for 0–12-year-olds, supporting early years and younger members with their families, their diagnosis and beyond across the Southern Region. About the role
Alongside the Service Manager, you are responsible and accountable for monitoring, maintaining and providing the highest standards of clinical and personal support and service delivery, while promoting independence and choice to the people supported in the service. Job Description
- Provides individualised support for interns at the host business worksite placement or competitive job which includes: job coaching, identifying job placements, assistive technology, etc.
- Attends host business induction to ensure student understanding and learning
- Works with managers and co-workers to educate on disability awareness
- Communicates with parents on a regular basis
- Visits students and give feedback to all team members
- Meets daily with tutor to discuss student progress
- Meets regularly with business liaison, managers and peer mentors to discuss student strengths and challenges, issues, progress, etc
- Works with tutor to plan events such as induction, information nights/Open days and graduation
- Works with other team members to provide internal and external marketing for business and community such as newsletter articles, website information, tours, community presentations, social media etc.
- Communicates effectively with the tutor, other job coaches, the senior practitioner, employers, co-workers, family members, and school and agency personnel as it relates to the student being trained.
- Carries out steps of job coaching plan with students and other parties as appropriate.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Team Manager for our supported living service in Ipswich, Suffolk. Someone who will go above and beyond to make life amazing for our service users and our enthusiastic and professional support workers. Our Charity supports 13 adults with learning disabilities/autism to lead fulfilling and independent lives whilst being active members of the community.
The Role
As our Team Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Creating and managing monthly rotas;
- Supporting and supervising assistants;
- Organising and leading weekly team meetings;
- Inducting new starters into their role and completing competency observations;
- Overseeing reporting such as medication records, health and safety, and quality assurance;
- Leading on the planning and facilitating community events;
- Working as part of the senior leadership team to maintain a high quality of care;
The Team Manager supports the Registered Care Manager in creating and promoting community and a sense of home, leading the service delivery in line with L’Arche values, traditions and standards, and the requirements of the Care Quality Commission [CQC].
About you:
- Well-organised, IT literate and adept at allocating and delegating work appropriately.
- Accomplished in effectively leading and managing team performance, such as providing clear objectives, reviewing outcomes, putting in place development plans, and taking appropriate action to deal with poor performance.
- Proven ability to guide, support and teach the essential skills of supporting people with learning disabilities/autism.
- A clear understanding of care planning processes.
- 1 or more years’ experience as a Team Manager working with adults with learning disabilities.
- NVQ Level 3 in health and social care.
- Experience in, or be willing to learn, digital care planning programmes.
- Up to date knowledge of CQC regulations with the ability to apply them in a care setting.
- Natural ability to help make the lives of others more fulfilling.

MLMC is now looking for a part-time Finance and Administration Officer. The successful applicant will manage MLMC’s day-to-day finances providing financial information to the Charity Coordinator and other staff as needed. Additional duties include administration/governance support to the Charity Coordinator and to manage the day to day running of the office (this does not involve any people management). This role calls for an individual with accounts and/or book keeping experience, the ability to run an end to end payroll using a computerised system including HMRC and year end reporting, and excellent administration skills. It is crucial that you will be able to communicate politely, professionally, effectively and clearly with all stakeholders (e.g. fellow staff, customers etc.).
