The role
The Senior PR and Press Officer will raise the voice and impact of the CIPD in media and wider communications activities in pursuit of its core purpose of championing better work and working lives
What you’ll be doing
- Managing incoming media enquiries, ensuring journalists receive a prompt and efficient response and briefing spokespeople to help turn incoming enquiries into opportunities to proactively communicate key messages.
- Maximising media coverage to support the CIPD’s strategic priorities and our research, policy and campaign agenda. This will involve regularly translating policy matters and research findings into accessible news stories that will resonate with different stakeholder audiences.
- Being part of a wider team, which creates and delivers integrated marketing communications campaigns. You will have responsibility for managing the media element of certain campaigns.
- Building and maintaining relationships with trade media, national and broadcast journalists as part of our busy and respected press office. You will also work closely with the editorial team that manage our CIPD magazines: People Management and Work.
- Working with the PR Manager, Head of Marketing Communications, and wider team to protect and enhance the reputation of the CIPD.
- Supporting communications colleagues in our regional and international offices.
- Ensuring that the CIPD’s online media centre is an up-to-date resource for the media, CIPD members and other visitors to the website, and that press releases are distributed in a timely way.
- Proactively placing and writing articles for a variety of media and ensuring all articles from CIPD spokespeople are consistent with the CIPD’s key messages.
- Being part of the team that plan and run the on-site press offices for our annual conferences.
- Building strong working relationships with third party stakeholders, including commercial and strategic partners.
What you’ll need to be successful
- An excellent writer and communicator, able to create compelling copy for a range of audiences and channels.
- Extensive experience and knowledge in media relations.
- Strong awareness of media with good contacts in the national media.
- Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, juggling competing deadlines and shifting priorities at short notice.
- Ability to provide consultancy to the rest of the organisation, including the senior management team.

Regent’s Park College is a Permanent Private Hall within the University of Oxford. It admits undergraduate and graduate students some of whom are candidates training for Baptist Ministry. It has a self-appointing advisory Council of 50+ members of the Charity, from which the Governing Body (Board of Trustees/Directors of the Company) is elected.
Regent’s Park College wishes to appoint an experienced Clerk to the Governing Body and its committees. The successful candidate will be an excellent minute taker with a strong understanding of matters of governance and policy. As well as providing the administration for Governing Body meetings (agendas, papers, minutes), the successful candidate will ensure that the Governing Body and the College are meeting the requirements of the Charity Commission and the legislative and regulatory framework within which the College operates.
The Clerk to the Governing Body will provide practical administrative support to the Governing Body and will be responsible for the production and circulation of agendas, papers and minutes. Harris Hill is searching for an Alumni and Development Executive for around 3 months to cover a leaver.
This role will need to start around the 22nd April for a handover with the current postholder. The post can be 3, 4 or 5 days per week but on the understanding that this be hybrid based with the need to attend one of their numerous sites, depending on alumni events. This role has sites in London and Surrey, so you may need to attend either for specific events. This could be a couple times a month to a few times a week during holiday periods. We are recruiting for a number of roles in our GMIRS Wellbeing Service, providing support to people on probation. There are roles at both project worker and team leader level.
Back on Track is part of a partnership of charities working in local communities across Greater Manchester to deliver the GMIRS Wellbeing Service. The service aims to reduce reoffending by working with people to improve their physical, emotional, and mental health and wellbeing, foster healthy relationships and move forward in their lives.
We are looking for three project workers (salary £27,800 – £32,000) who will build strong relationships with people who join the programme, provide 1:1 wellbeing support and guidance, and support with practical challenges including debt, low level housing needs, finance and benefits.
We are also looking for two team leaders (£31,400 – £33,650) who will bring knowledge and experience to directly support participants of the programme, offer support and guidance to project workers, and provide coordination and developmental support to the Manchester GMIRS Wellbeing Service.

Foundations for Outdoor Learning
This programme is a comprehensive, long-term support package for schools wanting to embed Outdoor Learning into their curriculum and practice. Support may include teacher CPD, mentoring, and advice on how to optimise use of your school grounds. We do this on your school site, with some supported visits to local green spaces and our own learning locations.
Enriching Education
This programme uses The Ernest Cook Trust’s own learning locations - woodlands, farms, rivers and other natural landscapes - together with our Outdoor Learning leaders to support a school’s Outdoor Learning provision. This may be a school’s first experience of Outdoor Learning, or it may enhance and extend existing programmes. Either way, we aim to inspire all participants to spend more time
outdoors.

The US-UK Fulbright Commission is home to the UK’s EducationUSA team, which offers a wide variety of information and support to people in the UK about studying in the USA. We know how many people are interested in choosing to study a degree at a US university, but clear, unbiased and accurate information can be hard to find. Our free services aim to support anyone in the UK who is interested in studying in the USA make their dreams a reality.
As an EducationUSA manager, you will play a key role in designing and running informational services to help prospective students, teachers, advisors and parents navigate US university admissions for successful study in the USA. As an organisation, we are proud to help broaden prospective applicants’ horizons by showcasing all of the exciting opportunities at more than 4,000 US accredited universities and colleges.
As the successful candidate, you will work in a small team to promote US study, from attending university fairs to meet with prospective students, to holding one-to-one advising video calls with individual students, to answering questions from US universities looking to recruit in the UK. Alongside running a lively webinar and in person event schedule, which you will be involved in promoting, you’ll also be the lead member of staff working on our signature event, USA College Day, which is Europe’s largest US college fair.
You’ll bring excellent project management skills to the role, with a cool head under pressure. You’ll be experienced at event management, but also enjoy presenting and working directly with students too. You’ll bring passion for the opportunities presented by studying abroad, and be able to inspire students while also anticipating questions and concerns they might have about US study.
Being able to demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity, inclusion and equity will be key and you will be excited about the opportunity to support people from diverse backgrounds. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, need to be a strong team player and have the ability to deliver effective presentations to a range of audiences.

This is an exciting new role which will concentrate on developing and embedding evaluation and learning practice within PSI’s activities, with significant opportunity to add value. Africa Pandemic Sciences Collaborative (working title)
You will support the development and implementation of a MEL workplan for this initiative, based around the Theory of Change (ToC) and working closely with collaborators at Science for Africa Foundation in Nairobi.
The International Severe Acute Respiratory and emerging Infection Consortium (ISARIC)
You will lead on the design, implementation, delivery and continuous improvement of a MEL framework based on the ISARIC ToC model, using research and insight to inform developments. This will include defining and implementing cross-team data collection processes and tools, creating and championing a strategy for dissemination of and access to ISARIC outputs, and preparing reports.
PSI-wide activity
You will deliver guidance to other groups within PSI. This will include supporting researchers to articulate impact in grant applications and publications, and providing MEL expertise to ongoing projects. You may also be required to work with colleagues across the wider Department of Medicine to prepare material for the Research Excellence Framework 2028.
It is essential that you hold a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, alongside significant experience of planning and conducting monitoring and evaluation using different methodologies, gathering and analysing quantitative and qualitative data to demonstrate reach and significance of research impact. You will have excellent diplomacy, interpersonal and listening skills with proven ability to relate well to staff at all levels. Familiarity with the UK Research Excellence Framework and experience in monitoring and evaluation of scientific, global health or policy research would be desirable.
