About Winchester Youth Counselling:
At WYC our mission is to provide counselling, therapy and mental health support to young people aged 11-25 in Winchester as well as support and advice for parents and families, so that young people are supported to thrive and live happier lives.
Our services include one to one counselling, walk and talk, and nature therapy sessions to local children and young people who are facing difficulties with their mental health. We also run a youth drop-in service in Winchester City Centre. We offer support to parents and carers too with parent consultations and parent workshops.
It's a pivotal and exciting moment for our charity. Thanks to recently securing substantial funding, we're ready for exciting growth and looking to make an even greater impact on local young people's mental health.
About the Role:
Based in the office, you will be the first point of contact for many children, young people and their families seeking counselling services. You will provide crucial administrative support to our team of counsellors and will work closely with the Operations Manager to create and synchronise processes for tracking clinical and non-clinical outcomes to help to evaluate and improve the performance of the charity. You will work with the Fundraising and Partnerships team to research, plan and execute effective community engagement work which will help the charity to further its mission and vision, and communicate this to more stakeholders. You will conduct research to aid the the charity as we move forwards. You will take on project-based work, including assisting the Senior Management Team with the review and update of organisational policies and other key organisational documents.

About the role
This exciting role, is under SIA’s Frank Williams academy. The role will support the day to administration for our education, research, data and policy work, both internally and externally.
The role will contribute to the wider goal of the Academy - which is create systematic change across our sector.
The role will have the opportunity to streamline and improve our current ways of working, as well as contribute to new projects and initiatives that will deliver positive impact for our members, friends and families of people living with a spinal cord injury and health care professionals.

Maternity Action’s vision is a society which fully respects the rights of all pregnant women
and new parents to employment, social security and health care.
To achieve this vision, we undertake thoughtful research and policy analysis which is
grounded in the lived experiences of pregnant women and new parents, and which draws on
the expert knowledge of our legal team and evidence from our advice services. Our work
influences law and policy with the aim of reducing poverty, improving health and advancing
equality and human rights for all pregnant women and new parents.
We prioritise issues affecting low income and marginalised women and have an active
programme of research, policy and campaigning work on employment, social security and
healthcare.
Key areas of campaigning on employment rights include ending pregnancy and maternity
discrimination in the workplace and promoting a more equitable framework for maternity and
parental leave. Our work on the cost-of-living crisis is highlighting the underinvestment in
maternity pay and maternity benefits, the limited support available for migrant mothers and

convene the Alliance for Maternity Rights and the Maternity Entitlement Group to promote

About you
We are looking for an experienced Senior Employment and Social Security Policy Officer to
undertake policy analysis, campaigning and research on employment rights affecting
pregnant women and new parents, including maternity discrimination, precarious work,
health and safety, maternity and parental leave and flexible working. You will be able to form
relationships with Government, Trade Unions, business groups, Equality and Human Rights
Commission and voluntary sector organisations. Working with staff across the organisation
you will be able to communicate about employment policy effectively to a wide range of
audiences.
You will have an understanding of the social security system as it relates to pregnant women
and new parents, and an ability to analyse policy developments relating to the Department
for Work and Pensions.

The role
This is a hybrid role to be delivered from home and our office in Finsbury Park, London.
Total hours to be worked each week is 21; other than Thursday, which is a core day, we are

The post holder will be the first point of contact for a busy team, supporting effective delivery of key participation projects that puts children and young people’s voices at the heart of government. This is primarily an administration post with some opportunity to develop engagement skills. This is a varied role that requires significant attention to detail, the ability to move between tasks at rapid pace, and skill to make complex information accessible for a range of stakeholders. The majority of the post holder’s duties will support the Making Participation Work programme, experience of working with disabled children and young people and those with special educational needs would be an advantage.
This role provides the opportunity to work closely with children and young people, colleagues and external partners. You will also be responsible for managing children and young people’s data and information, creating newsletters and social media content. Being proactive, efficient and organised is critical for this role, you must be able to co-ordinate logistics and analyse large amounts of data.
