The Governance Advisor will:
- Advise CIEH's Board and Committees in line with the governance framework and statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Provide high quality, professional governance services as well as support successful AGMs and elections.
- Work across a full range of governance activities, leading on identifying and delivering opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our governance.
- Provide support for fitness to practice cases and act as hearing co-ordinator to fitness to practice panels.
The contract will be for a period of 3 years, commencing January 2025. As such, the salary noted above does not apply, fees will be agreed as part of the Invitation To Tender (ITT) process. We are seeking a Policy & Public Affairs Officer (Wales). The postholder will work closely with the Senior Policy and Public Affairs Lead for Wales to support the development and implementation of Barnardo's Cymru's influencing plan with a view to raising the profile and influence of Barnardo's amongst policy stakeholders and decision-makers to create positive change in children's policy.
The role offers the opportunity to be involved in many aspects of policy and public affairs influencing including: conducting research, producing reports, monitoring policy developments, liaising with policy stakeholders, supporting reactive policy work, and event management to publicise our work. The postholder will work to put the voices of children, young people, families, and our services are at the heart of Barnardo's influencing.
This role will be home based but will require travel to Cardiff and/or other parts of Wales for in-person meetings as required. The position is offered on a 0.6 FTE basis (21.75 hours per week)
