The Direct Marketing Manager, Retention, is a newly developed role at the DEC, responsible for shaping and delivering new and existing supporter journeys for DEC individual, community and legacy donors, and leading a programme of improvement across all major contact points between the DEC and the public.

The Direct Marketing Manager, Retention will:

• Contribute to and develop DEC direct marketing strategies, including the refreshing, implementation and analysis of the DEC’s segmentation, to maximise future income and continually improve the retention of individual supporters for future emergency appeals,
• Lead on the production of retention and reporting back materials for individual and community supporters,
• Manage the development and maintenance of specific supporter journeys,
• Develop and oversee the materials and supporter positioning for a light touch and mainly reactive legacy marketing programme for the DEC.

Key responsibilities include:

Strategy and Planning

• Develop and implement the direct marketing retention strategy, ensuring that past learnings are built upon, and new ideas are tested.
• Develop and implement specific audience journeys for segments across both the life cycle of a DEC appeal and between appeals.
• Ensure timely and relevant communications to all direct marketing, community, and legacy audiences on the impact of their donations.
• Build an improved supporter journey strategy for new, repeat, and lapsed donors.
• Lead, design, and monitor the collection of audience insight during appeals.

Fundraising

• Develop the DEC’s donor journeys for individuals and community supporters, monitoring the development of segments and the engagement of repeat donors.
• Provide analysis during and following an appeal of performance to measure and report performance against key indicators and develop recommendations for improving impact in the next appeal.
• Support the stewardship of community fundraisers and groups in conjunction with the Supporter Services team.

Networking and building relationships

• Develop excellent working relationships with the DEC’s suppliers including creative agencies, media agencies, SMS and email suppliers, and the print/mailing house.
• Work with permanent and temporary staff at the DEC during appeals to maximise the success of the appeal.

What You'll Be Doing

You will be joining the Team, a warm friendly and welcoming group, to provide a high-quality service to clients in Walton on Thames, Molesey, Hersham, Thames Ditton, Hinchley Wood and Cobham. They currently support 65 clients with a range of needs. Their clients include individuals who are homeless, some with mental health issues, those in recovery from substance misuse, and young people.

A little more about your day as a Housing & Support Officer:

- Act as a keyworker to clients, helping them achieve their goals and live independently.
- Family mediation and support, bringing families back together.
- Work with a community of professionals to support the right outcomes.
- Problem solving together and debriefs sharing experiences and learning as a team.
- Support clients with repair issues and repayment agreements for rent arrears.
- Carry out room inspections, health and safety checks and make rooms homely for new residents.

We are looking for a skilled bid writer with extensive project management experience to transform our core and project work into compelling fundraising propositions. The ideal candidate will be proactive, with a proven track record in high-value fundraising from trusts and foundations or a similar field. The Grants & Trusts Coordinator will cultivate and maintain key relationships with funders capable of contributing four to six-figure sums.

The key tasks for this role include working closely with the CEO to develop a plan for multi-year income growth from grant funding, aligned with the Charity’s strategic objectives and income targets. The role requires developing the strategic direction for grants and trusts funding, ensuring a pipeline of high-value bids and a sustainable income stream. You will identify, engage, cultivate, and coordinate a portfolio of high-value trust and foundation supporters, providing effective relationship management alongside the CEO. 

Securing both restricted and unrestricted income for Platform for Life involves initiating, managing, and developing a comprehensive programme of applications to a wide range of funding sources. You will identify funders that align with the work carried out by Platform for Life, and collaborate with the CEO, colleagues and trustees to produce high quality, innovative bids, ensuring the strongest possible application is submitted. You will then coordinate and create the funding, mid-term and completion reports for funders.

We are looking to recruit a creative and ambitious Fundraising and Communications Manager for our community based organisation based in West London. A key focus of the role is the development of our donor management systems, event organisation, digital appeals, and corporate partnerships, whilst providing strategic oversight of the charity’s internal and external communications.

Bid-writing expertise is desirable but not essential. We are looking for a highly effective individual with demonstrable and relevant fundraising experience, as well as excellent planning, organisational and people skills. The Fundraising and Communications Manager will work alongside the Senior Leadership Team to ensure we take a strategic approach to fundraising that ensures the charity’s income will support our growth and development in the years ahead, in line with our 2030 Strategy.

The Fundraising and Communications Manager will collaborate closely with the local community and a wide range of local partners and donors. Health Poverty Action (HPA) acts in solidarity with poor and marginalised communities in their struggle for health and social justice, recognising these injustices are often rooted in colonialism and imperialism (both historical and ongoing) and have strong racial and gender dimensions.

We develop and implement locally rooted and culturally appropriate solutions to improve health for communities in 10 countries across Central America, Asia and Africa. Alongside these global programmes, we campaign to change the unjust policies and practices that push people into poverty and destroy their health and tackle the powerful vested interests that sustain them.

As Partnership Officer, you will be the critical driver of growing our partnerships fundraising and ensuring that more people worldwide are able to realise their right to health. 

• Job purpose: To help grow unrestricted income for Health Poverty Action through community and corporate partnerships. 
• Location: Home-based, within commuting distance to London for events and meetings. 
• Salary: £26,095 rising in length of service increments to £29,832. 
• Responsible to: Head of Fundraising 
• Annual leave: 25 days per year, plus the time between Christmas and New Year, plus bank holidays.

Your key responsibilities will be flexible. You’ll manage your workload and set objectives, priorities and deadlines with the Head of Fundraising. Your work will include: 

• Partnerships Fundraising: You’ll lead and grow our partnerships fundraising portfolio by nurturing existing relationships and identifying new prospective partnerships. You will prepare proposals, pitches, and reports based on key funding needs, and implement stewardship plans to retain support, maximising partnership value. 

• Community Fundraising: You’ll manage community-based fundraising efforts, including coordinating with other organisations. Develop new community fundraising initiatives and engage volunteers, working to maintain an established network of volunteers which support community fundraising activities.

• Events Fundraising: You will manage our fundraising events, including the London Marathon. This will include recruitment, resourcing, relationship-building and supporting our event participants in their fundraising efforts. We are also excited for you to develop and oversee other innovative and profitable one-off events. 

• Fundraising Management: You will monitor and report on fundraising activities, manage relevant website pages, and ensure effective administration and record-keeping. You’ll need to stay abreast of industry trends and react accordingly to maximize opportunities.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This is a new role in the organisation that will work in the Policy and Campaigns Team but create impact across all of our work.  The roleis responsible for supporting and developing our social media and our awareness raising activity in communities across the UK.  You will be pivotal in promoting the Trust's mission and enhancing our online presence.  You will lead strategic social media content creation and campaigns, manage reputation, and collaborate with various teams to ensure consistency in messaging.

• Creating and scheduling social media content and reacting to key events and interactions
• Updating our website
• Developing and delivering information about stalking, personal safety and harrassment and our services to a wide range of community groups
• Supporting our experts by experience/lived experience groups to influence policy and service provision across the sector
