The Walcot Foundation is an independent grant-making charity located in Lambeth, South London, providing a range of economic and social support directly to young people, schools and community groups in order to transform their prospects in the borough. To strengthen this mission the Foundation set up the BounceBack programme, now in its third year, working with a consortium of 10 place-based charities and community interest companies in South London to help young people find paid work. 

As part of a joint project, the BounceBack partner organisations are looking for an experienced employer engagement professional to help them develop, manage and build stronger relationships with employers and broker work experience and employment opportunities for the Lambeth young people they support.

We are looking for someone who can enable effective delivery and growth of Bishops Castle and Leominster Youth Hubs across the Clun Forest, Pontesbury, Leominster and Kington & Weobley Deanery areas.

To ensure effective local research and evaluation in partnership with The Cinnamon Trust and Church Army Research Unit and learning opportunities in collaboration with the Church of England Vision & Strategy Team. 

Youth Hubs will have a focus on:

• Reaching young people with the Gospel
• Developing new young active disciples
• Forming of New Worshipping Communities
• Growing Young Leaders
• Developing new volunteer leaders and teams

35 Hours per week Monday to Friday, with some evening and weekend work

Young Lives vs Cancer (YLvC) help families to find the strength to face everything cancer throws at them.

Citizens Advice Hammersmith and Fulham working in partnership with the national charity YLvC delivers a pioneering project via multi channels (telephone/email/web) providing advice to families of young people affected by cancer.

The project is expanding and we are recruiting a Welfare Rights Benefits Adviser and a Housing Adviser.

The project requires dynamic advisers who can sensitively, engage with families in an often difficult time. Reassure them in terms of options and steps they can take to address the welfare rights/housing issues they are experiencing. Knowing they have options to consider gives them reassurance in a time of uncertainty.

Working with the YLvC team who are located across the UK, advice provided by the project Advisers will also support YLvC social workers, to better help the families and young people accessing the charity support.

About the role

Becoming the Programme Marketing Manager at the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women is a fantastic opportunity to help drive progress for women entrepreneurs in low and middle income countries by engaging more people in our work.

The key purpose of this role is to effectively market our programmes to participants – chiefly our HerVenture business skills microlearning app and our sector-leading Mentoring Women in Business programme.

This will span three main projects:

· to successfully manage a marketing agency to effectively market the HerVenture app to women in South Africa (as part of a fixed-term project with active marketing ongoing until Mar ‘25);

· to successfully manage the same marketing agency to promote the app in Nigeria (as part of a separate fixed-term project with active marketing ongoing until Dec ‘24); and

· to effectively promote the opportunity to become a mentor to a woman entrepreneur through our Mentoring Women in Business programme to paying professionals worldwide. Your objective will be to secure 18+ paid mentors for the Nov ’24 programme intake and 20+ for the May ’25 intake.

Following the completion of the two HerVenture marketing projects, you will also lead other programme marketing initiatives in 2025. These will be determined in late 2024.

Following the May ’25 Mentoring intake you will deliver a strategy, harnessing your learning and analysis to outline an approach for marketing the programme to paying mentors in future.

You will also be called on to support other forms of programme marketing on an ad hoc basis, for example advising on development of corporate pitch decks, or co-designing materials for fundraising events.

This position reports directly to the Head of Communications and Marketing, however this is a highly collaborative role and you will also work closely with the Entrepreneurship programmes team and the Programme Funding team to develop and deliver plans and manage projects.

Our ideal candidate will be a knowledgeable and motivated marketer with experience in ‘selling’ professional development / online volunteering opportunities, and in managing agencies and contractors to deliver on fixed projects as aligned to good marketing practices. You should be highly organised and goals-driven, with a collaborative approach, a growth-oriented mindset, and a strong desire to harness the power of marketing to support women’s economic empowerment.

The two Assistant Vergers and Precinct Officers (AVPOs) carry out a wide range of duties under the direction of the Head Verger and Precinct Manager.  Work includes: the careful setting up and delivery of all liturgical matters; ensuring a welcoming, clean, and safe environment for all working in, visiting, or using the Cathedral and Cathedral House and precinct and ensuring the day-to-day smooth running of the Cathedral for all.

Essential experience and skills

• Sympathy with the Christian faith.

We are seeking a Philanthropy Proposal Writer, on a one-year fixed appointment to cover maternity leave. You will be responsible for creating persuasive content for use in bespoke proposals for potential donors and funders, most particularly for 7-9 figure opportunities. Head to Toe, the charity of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT), has been awarded a 3-year grant to support patients receiving end of life care. You may have experience in similar projects, or come from a clinical background, but will understand and champion the role of volunteers in enhancing NHS services and patient experiences. The Butterfly Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for the development, implementation, and scale of the Community Butterfly Volunteer Service, which can bring huge benefits to patients, staff, volunteers, and our local communities. You will have day to day responsibility for the recruitment, interview, selection, training and management of Butterfly Volunteers.

About the team

At Shelter Bristol we provide front line support to over 5000 people a year, through housing advice and support. We strive for change to address the underlying systems that are causing the housing emergency. The range of support also includes legal representation, practical DIY assistance, and welfare benefits advice, so people can address their housing and other related issues. We also raise awareness of housing rights within the community so people can take their own actions and work in partnership with other local organisations.

About the role

You will have your own caseload of families, acting as their key worker and supporting them to either resettle or prevent homelessness. Your primary focus will be on households where some tailored interventions are required around the needs of the children to stabilise their housing situation and enable the family to thrive. You’ll need to provide intensive, tailored support as part of a whole family approach both in a 1-2-1 setting and through group work. You’ll also need to regularly visits clients’ homes and schools across the city liaising with other agencies in the community to provide a co-ordinated service.

About you

You will have knowledge of housing, homelessness and ASB legislation and welfare benefits that affect families and the skills to network and gather information as well as advocacy, negotiation and problem solving skills. You’ll need to be able to demonstrate that you have worked within, or understand, a safeguarding framework, have experience of managing a caseload and can prioritise, organise and set boundaries.

You’ll need to be able to use a range of IT tools to carry out your work, including case management systems, Microsoft Office applications, internet and email etc. You must also possess a valid driving licence and be willing to use your vehicle for work purposes, for which an essential car allowance will be paid.
