Fairtrade Foundation are recruiting for a Programme Officer, who will work closely with the Senior Programme Manager (SPM) to support excellent stakeholder relationship management on strategic projects led by the SPM (including with programme funders, and partners such as Fairtrade Africa), and act as the main programme liaison on a day-to-day basis for smaller projects.

You’ll need to have excellent attention-to-detail, be financially literate and be a clear, adaptable communicator. You will have experience of managing projects and budgets or supporting others to manage projects and budgets. If you have specific experience with international development projects, that’s great, but it’s not essential.

About the role

You will be responsible for the design, development and iterative delivery of a portfolio of projects to inform, inspire and support 11-14 year olds to ultimately progress into engineering and technology. Currently, these projects are Energy Quest and Climate Schools Programme which provide in-school workshops, teacher materials and resources for school clubs. You will ensure that these projects and newly developed projects have career messages embedded and respond to both evidence and need ensuring our work responds to the changing needs of young people, schools and industry and specifically has an impact on those currently underrepresented in the industry. You will ensure that the work in your portfolio aligns and links to all EUK’s products and services for schools and build strategic partnerships with external organisations to enhance the design and delivery of the programmes.
 

The engagement projects delivered by your team are dependent on external fundraising, so you will work closely with our Business and Industry team who lead on fundraising, supporting the bid writing and pitch process. You will also work closely with colleagues from across the rest of EngineeringUK, including our evaluation, communications teams, and oversee the management of external partners responsible for delivering the projects.
 

The role is London based at our office at 10 Lower Thames Street, London EC3R 6EN and may involve some travel in the UK. We believe that hybrid working has many benefits and are pleased to offer flexible working with a minimum of 2 days (or 40%) a week in the office and the option for a flexible start and end to the working day in our vibrant central London office overlooking the Thames. Job Purpose

This role sits within our Adult Services, across Hammersmith, Fulham, Ealing, Hounslow. You will be responsible for the operational delivery and service development, of a portfolio of services. Namely (but subject to change):

• Safe Space Community
• Safe Space ED
• Hounslow Helpline
• Nova Roots (Forensic Community Hub)

One large service you will be responsible for is our crisis alternative service – Safe Space - which is a tri-borough out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. The service operates 365 days a year from 12:00(midday) – 11:30pm across all of our boroughs. You will be responsible for managing peripatetic teams: we currently have 3 in person Safe Spaces and based in 3 A&E.

Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone on a one-to-one or group basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis.

The objectives of the service include:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in HFEH.
• To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation, planned wellbeing activities etc.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
• To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation
• To increase self-management skills of those accessing the service
• To reduce the use of police, ambulance and statutory mental health services whilst experiencing crisis.
• To reduce the use of statutory crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.

The Role

The role of the Crisis Alternative Service Manager will provide operational management, mobilisation and service development of all Crisis Services within Adult Services. The ideal candidate will have experience of mobilising and developing high quality, large services. In addition to managing and supporting staff working within challenging environments and experience of working with challenging behaviour and complex needs. The Service Manager will hold all operational risk.

Excellent organisation and decision-making skills are essential for this role, as it requires being able to manage time effectively to meet tight deadlines and work unsupervised during evenings and weekends. You will also be required to be rostered into the on-call rota.

The Crisis Alternative Service Manager will be required to work collaboratively with the Director of Adult Services and will be proficient at communicating effectively with staff at all levels, a wide range of key stakeholders and service users. They will ensure the service is well resourced from a staffing perspective and embed high-quality operational plans and processes.

They will be responsible for the delivery, progression and continual improvement of the service. They will have responsibility for ensuring Crisis Services operate in line with organisational H&S processes and procedures, HFEH Mind policies and CQC requirements.

 We are recruiting a Project Coordinator to oversee the delivery and development of a flagship Community Wellbeing Project, which operates in partnership with Brent Council. The project is a Community Hub hosted in a community space in Stonebridge (not in Sufra’s existing premises). Members of the project can access a Community Shop, a Community Café and Kitchen, and holistic support in the form of Advice casework and workshops. The objective of the project is to deliver food aid alongside wraparound holistic support in way that improves the financial, physical and mental wellbeing of its members, who are struggling with the cost of living.

This collaborative project has been made possible due to the support of multiple partners and has already proven highly successful. It is likely to form the basis of a new model of support for people experiencing vulnerabilities that will be replicated across Brent and possibly elsewhere in London.

The Project Coordinator will oversee the delivery of the project, ensuring both the shop and the café operate effectively and in accordance with agreed standards and procedures. The successful candidate will help shape the project in the months ahead, whilst supporting guests, collecting data, and monitoring and evaluating the project. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a busy and varied environment, managing multiple priorities at the same time. They will have experience in a customer-facing role, dealing with the general public and managing volunteers. It would be beneficial for the post holder to have experience supporting vulnerable people with complex needs from a wide variety of backgrounds. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for members that sign onto the pilot project, and will be representing the organisation to external partners. Since 2017, Worldwide Radiology has been steadily growing from a small group of founding UK radiologists with experience of working in limited resource settings to an international team of around 50 long-term volunteers from a range of different imaging and clinical backgrounds.

We support the development of appropriate, high quality imaging services in low and middle income countries; from central teaching hospitals to remote district clinics. We work together with our partners to build the necessary skills and capacity to improve patient care and we aim to increase opportunities for imaging research focused on local or national healthcare priorities.

Overview

The Programme Manager role will be crucial to the success and development of the charity. You will be responsible for the management and delivery of 3+ Worldwide Radiology projects, operating across Malawi, Ghana and The Gambia.

The Programme Manager will be responsible for quickly grasping the needs of three ongoing projects, steering them toward desired impact, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and managing risks effectively to bring these projects into shape.

​

The successful candidate will be responsible for working with key stakeholders, including our volunteers, partners and donors to build and nurture strong working relationships. 

​

They will contribute to seeking out further grant opportunities within the sector, working closely with the rest of the programmes team and the fundraising team.

​

The key responsibilities of this post are as follows:

(a) oversee the smooth running of our projects; 

(b) provide strong, holistic solutions, focused on operational leadership; and 

(c) support the overall growth and development of the organisation.
 

Role-Specific Responsibilities

1. Provide overall day-to-day management for WWR projects and WWR volunteers, reporting directly to the WWR Director.

2. Oversee the development and operational execution of detailed work-plans and budgets for WWR programme

3. Track all milestones and reporting schedules, taking timely action to ensure they are met.

4. Develop and deliver project MEAL activities in collaboration with our external MEAL consultant.

5. Produce (gather, collate and edit)  high quality, timely project progress, annual and donor-specific reports.

6. Oversee the management of partnership agreements and contracts in accordance with the donor specific requirements.

7. Support the identification and securing of new grant opportunities in collaboration with the programmes and fundraising teams.

8. Communicate administrative and technical information to WWR project partners in a timely, sensitive and effective manner.

9. Assist team members, volunteers, partners and members of the public with queries, demonstrating tact and understanding when dealing with complex and serious issues, deliver a consistently high and appropriate level of service and support to individuals contacting WWR.

10. Assist with recruitment, onboarding, induction and management of both UK and international WWR volunteers.
     

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

• Educated to degree level or equivalent work experience.

• Experience in grant or contract management in a humanitarian or development environment.

• Demonstrable experience of adhering to principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management and administration of programmes and project lifecycles.

• Demonstrable experience of applying monitoring systems and managing budgets.

• Experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.

About the role:

As a Political Advocacy Officer, your role will be to work with policy and programmatic experts to help influence government, parliamentary and sector targets, coordinate events, and play a part in mobilising World Vision’s tens of thousands of UK supporters around our cause of standing with the world’s most vulnerable children. You’ll find yourself working with key political stakeholders, parliamentary networks, and committees.

Key areas of responsibility include:  

• Grow World Vision’s influence through developing and maintaining new relationships with key political contacts to achieve WVUK advocacy goals and support the implementation of the advocacy strategy.
• Monitor, analyse and brief key internal contacts/stakeholders on parliamentary and political activity relevant to WVUK with a particular focus on issues affecting most vulnerable children, faith and development, and fragile contexts.

About you:

We’re looking for someone with creativity and drive, who is confident engaging and building relationships with political decision-makers and networks.

You’ll need superb writing skills, good working knowledge of and/or interest in UK government and politics and be skilled in building relationships to influence change. Experience in international development, and/or UK politics is desired but not required. We are looking for a team player with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and grow. Most importantly, you must be passionate about advocating alongside and for children in the world’s poorest and most fragile places, and ensuring their needs and voices are heard at the highest level of government and parliament.

As Capital Campaign Lead for Major Gifts, you will work with the Head of Philanthropy and Capital Appeals, and colleagues in the Philanthropy Team and across EAAA, to secure transformational campaign gifts.

You will be responsible for managing your own portfolio of major gift prospects and donors, making compelling face-to-face asks, and supporting the Campaign Committee and senior staff to solicit the all-important lead campaign gifts.

You will work with colleagues, including clinical crews and pilots, to devise and deliver unique and personalised stewardship plans, ensuring that donors and prospects are inspired to support the campaign and to continue supporting our work long into the future.

We have a vacancy in the North East region for a Project Officer working 21 hours per week. You would be joining a dedicated and friendly team of regional staff and volunteers. The ability to work autonomously as well as being a good team player is essential.

It is an exciting time to be joining Cruse, as we are in the process of improving our processes and services to strengthen the support that we offer to bereaved people and our volunteers. The postholder will coordinate and assist with the delivery of all aspects of service contracts in Stockton, supporting the Regional Manager and the wider team. We’re looking for a motivated Grants and Administration Officer. We are happy to consider someone who is newer to grant-making but with deep experience of the charitable sector. We will be looking for someone with aptitude for the duties below who will be able to work independently following training where needed. Duties

Grants assessment and management:

• Process grant applications. This includes:

o Visiting, meeting and corresponding with applicants.

o Reviewing, requesting and analysing relevant information.

o Providing feedback on unsuccessful applications.

o Preparing written recommendations for submission to the Board and presenting at Board meetings.

• Monitor progress on grants awarded.

• Ensure the timely and accurate recording of activities and transactions with applicants and grantees through the Trust’s database, Salesforce CRM.

• Prepare Board papers and Minutes (printing, binding and posting papers).
