Chalk Farm Tenant Management Organisation (TMO) is looking for a competent leader with a passion for social housing to manage our housing organisation.

Located close to the historic Camden Market, the TMO provides housing services and community activities for residents of the estate. As estate manager, your main duties will be to:

1. Give the TMO the strategy it needs to deliver an excellent housing service for residents.

2. Ensure that the TMO is adequately and responsibly resourced.

3. Ensure that the TMO complies with the Management Agreement signed with Camden Council, all applicable legislation, and current best practice.

4. Provide effective day-to-day leadership, management and supervision of staff.

5. Uphold a service culture which puts residents’ satisfaction at the heart of delivery. 

6. Ensure the effective delivery of the TMO’s housing management functions.

7. Work in partnership with the committee to deliver continuous improvement and good value across all TMO managed and contracted services.

This could be you if you have:

• 4 years+ experience of managing staff, and at least 2 years experience of reporting to a board;

• good knowledge of housing law or current issues relating to social housing;

• experience in procuring contracts and managing contractors;

• a proactive, can-do attitude, and an ability to motivate a team;

• excellent numerical and IT literacy, including a record of preparing and scrutinising budgets;

• Either a Level 4 Certificate in Housing, or an undergraduate degree (2:1 or above), and are prepared to enrol in the 1 year online Level 4 course by the Chartered Institute for Housing.

The Hammersmith and Fulham service comprises of one high support hostel and two medium support hostels, housing 24 people experiencing mental ill health who may also have other complex support needs including substance use and offending behaviour or who may present with behaviours which can challenge.

About the role:

The primary role of the project is to enable clients to understand their emotional and mental health needs and manage these effectively. The Project Worker will also support clients to develop their living skills, develop & manage relationships, build social networks and access education, training or employment, by completing comprehensive needs and risk assessments with clients and identifying short-term objectives.

The projects provide support 24 hours a day and are staffed by a Night Concierge and Project Workers, this requires regular weekend working. All work undertaken will be in line with planned support. Staff are responsible for making sure that clients are actively involved in the process and that the support offered is full and holistic.

About you:

• Demonstrable experience of working with people experiencing mental health problems and other complex needs.
• A demonstrable understanding of Mental Health Legislation and how it can be applied.
• A good understanding of safeguarding issues and the ability to undertake comprehensive risk assessments related to this.
• A working knowledge of Housing Management as applied to a residential setting, and an understanding of the rights and responsibilities associated with various forms of tenure including excluded licenses.
• A demonstrable understanding of the Recovery Model, and the ability to engage and motivate people to move towards independence and inclusion.
• A proven ability to work in partnership with external stakeholders, particularly community mental health services and/or substance use services.
• A proven ability to create and deliver SMART action plans with clients through high quality risk and needs assessment.
• A level of numeracy sufficient to carry out tasks such as budgeting with clients, calculating benefit entitlements and monitoring rent payment.

About this role…

Assessment Centres are fast paced services where people are referred in, usually from the street, and rapidly referred on to appropriate longer term accommodation. The services are short stay, and staff provide wrap around support and liaison with several external partners, including physical health, mental health, substance use and housing. Staffed 24 hours to ensure this quick turnaround, they are a key service to ensure people are off the streets and in stable accommodation.

We are looking for a Night Manager to work across our accommodation projects, with a specific focus and managerial responsibility in our assessment centres based in Hackney, City of London and Lambeth.

You will:

• Be responsible for directly managing employees who work at night
• Ensure that Thames Reach policies and best practice are understood and put into practice, and that employees working at night have access to regular in person supervision and training

This is a key role in our client's Operations team conducting safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow up assessments. In the role you will work with your Area Manager as a key business partner who plans and implements to optimise organisational performance in Health, Safety & Compliance. 

You will lead their small five-person in-house Building Safety / Maintenace team including three mobile maintenance operatives who provide reactive maintenance work and decorating etc over our eight hostels and some small satellite locations. Prospectus is thrilled to collaborate with our esteemed client, a leading global university, in their pursuit of a temporary Residence Hall Assistant. This role is dedicated to nurturing an environment conducive to the academic and personal development of residents. This is a full-time position (35 hours per week) looking to run until August 1st, situated onsite at least 4 days a week in Central London. Working hours are from 2pm to 10pm, Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday/Saturday. The Margins Project, Union Chapel’s Frontline charity, work with people who are homeless or who are at risk of homelessness and helps address pertinent social justice issues these communities face.

The charity runs three integrated programmes:

• a community drop-in programme providing access to nutritious hot meals, and limited access to showers & laundry services.

• advice and engagement programme providing one-to-one as well as group advice service on benefits and housing, and onward referrals to pertinent services.

• support employment programme offers a paid catering training to 10 people who have had experience of homelessness, substance misuse, mental ill-health, and or imprisonment.

Our range of services are designed to help guests (service users) at varying stages, from having no roof over their head to getting back into employment.

This role offers an opportunity for an experienced adviser to help shape and evolve Margins services. Experiences on the ground at the drop-in programme inform the charity’s strategic direction. The role will involve expanding our partner network to link into pertinent statutory and other charitable organisations that provide services that will help our guests with their housing, substance misuse, recidivism, and mental health challenges.

We work closely with people on an individual case work basis to get guests off the streets, into hostels or temporary accommodation where possible, and work with private and social landlords on a range of issues. We support and represent the people we work with on the phone and in person, including at the council, the doctors, the job centre, and benefits tribunals.

Our drop-ins run on Mondays and Wednesdays 11:00am to 1:00pm where attendance is currently from 65 to 75 guests. The advice and engagement worker works more intensively with smaller numbers of up to 20. The demand for more follow up work and advocacy support has been increasing over the last two years and this in-house advice worker is critical for this demand.

Working collaboratively with the Drop-in Community worker (currently vacant), the head chef, and a small group of dedicated volunteers, you will be responsible for the support of a caseload of guests, some with complex needs, and will undertake key work responsibilities including registering the guests, identifying their housing, benefit and personal needs and conducting all necessary follow ups including occasional advocacy support, where deemed necessary.

The Advice and Engagement Worker will have an active role in identifying and engaging guests as well as referring potential candidates to the Supported Employment Programme, a programme anticipated to expand beyond its current services in Margins catering.

• To Support guests on paying their rent, including providing advice on benefits and debt management.

• To Address breaches of occupancy agreements and develop strategies that would prevent and avoid eviction.

• To assist guests with backdated claims for Benefit by supporting their applications through to completion.

• To ensure all guests’ files are up-to-date and that data is captured on our management system.

• To provide written reports and statistics as and when requested.

• To attend supervision, training, and meetings as and when required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The Company is looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Housing Manager to join the Housing team on a Fixed Term Contract for 15 months.

The Assistant Housing Manager reports to the Housing Manager to support the delivery of operational efficiency across the Company's six residential sites and services for 206 residents, including leasehold.  The role will provide excellent customer service to our residents and work to ensure that each site is safe, secure and compliant with regulatory requirements.  The AHM will support the development and implementation of new systems and processes and provide guidance on Housing policies and procedures.  This role will work closely with the finance team to manage rental income and invoice payment.

The role holder will deputise in the absence of the Housing Manager.

The successful candidate will excel in communication and organisation, displaying a high level of professionalism while effectively building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders. A strong team player, who enjoys and varied role and possess the ability to use their initiative. Proficiency in IT and database management is essential, alongside exceptional customer service skills.

While experience in property management and knowledge of housing benefits are preferred, they are not essential. An enhanced DBS check is required.

We're seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to oversee our dedicated team of Floating Support Workers.

In this role, you will be responsible for line managing a team of Floating Support Workers and Lead Workers; Coordinating the provision of high-quality Floating Support to a wide range of individuals residing in Westminster or out of the borough in Temporary Accommodation placements

SHP Westminster Floating Support Service is funded by Westminster Borough to provide holistic, dynamic support to residents of Westminster. The aim of the service is to assist vulnerable residents to sustain their accommodation and access appropriate services to enable them to maintain independence and lead fulfilling lives.      

About the role:

As the Floating Support Team Manager, you will join an experienced management team to help ensure the delivery of effective and person-centred support services.

You will support the management team to ensure the service is running effectively and the team feel well supported and empowered to undertake their roles. You will monitor quality and the effectiveness of the support services by conducting regular supervisions and supporting with the data collection for reporting purposes.

You will also develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including Clients, Community Mental Health Teams, Housing, Adult Social Care with the aim of promoting collaboration.

• An Understanding of how to provide effective staff management and demonstrable ability to manage staff performance and motivate staff members to perform effectively.

We're seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Young Person’s Worker. In this role, you will play a vital role in providing support to at-risk young people who are experiencing homelessness.

Your mission: to support and empower young people to develop the lifelong tools they need to lead fulfilling lives outside the confines of traditional services. You will carry a caseload of clients who you will formulate a comprehensive support and safety plan with, which forms part of the ongoing casework, promoting independence and preparing young people for moving into independent accommodation, and employment and education.

About the Role:

As the Young Person's Worker, you will be working within a strengths and recovery framework embedded within a trauma informed approach to ensure client needs and aspirations are at the centre of the support planning process. You will be the lead worker overseeing the support and development of the young person’s needs and aspirations. You will guide and signpost the young person to the relevant statutory and non statutory services and will be key in motivating and coaching the young person to develop independent living skills.

• You bring experience working with young people in the community and in accommodation services.
