Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, the Senior Finance Business Partner will play a critical role in supporting ODI's strategic decision-making and financial management processes. The post holder will lead on partnering with programme managers to provide insights, analysis, and advice on financial performance and strategic opportunities.
The Senior Finance Business Partner will work closely with a Finance Business Partner in supporting half of ODI’s programmes. The other half of programmes will be supported by another Senior Finance Business Partner and Finance Business Partner pairing.
The Senior Finance Business Partner will deputise for the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis when needed.
We are recruiting a temporary finance officer for a human rights charity. You will need strong experience in finance working in month end tasks and reporting . The role is for 2 months +
Hybrid working min 2 days in the office
The Role
Month-end tasks
Process supplier invoices and staff expenses and prepare weekly payment runs in Sage 50 Accounts software.
Send remittance advice to suppliers.
Import staff expenses transactions from Expense's into Sage and reconcile staff accounts to Purchase Ledger in Sage.
Reconcile supplier records within the Purchase Ledger ensuring it is accurate and up to date.
Working with the Database & Insights Officer, post monthly bank receipts and income journals to Sage 50.
Monthly reconciliation of bank, Stripe and PayPal accounts to bank statements.
Reconcile credit card statements monthly.
Prepare and post monthly prepayment journals to Sage.
Prepare monthly reconciliations of income in Sage against Fundraising figures, explaining any variances.
Prepare monthly cashflow statements for review by the Head of Finance.
Reporting
Support the Development team with Donor reporting.
Prepare monthly budget vs actual reports for project teams.
Produce Sage expenditure reports for the Development and Program teams upon request.
General
Monitor the Accounts Payable mailbox responding to emails and requests in a timely manner.
Support the HoF and Development team with any other ad hoc tasks as required.
The Candidate
Extensive experience working in Finance to officer or senior officer officer level
Reconciliation
Working experience with Sage50.
Qualified or Pursuing formal accounting qualifications.
Understanding of charity accounting
Strong IT skills

Key tasks and responsibilities:

You will manage and grow Stronger Together’s business relations in a variety of sectors, both in the UK and globally to generate funding and drive impact. This includes taking the lead in developing project proposals for clients.

You will deliver interactive training workshops and deliver premium quality services to businesses to support them to embed responsible recruitment and fair work and tackle modern slavery in their operations and supply chains.

You will project manage all client projects from start to finish.
The role is diverse with opportunities to generate new funding to drive impact, project manage and implement training and activity with a variety of businesses, and to try out new ideas. You will work remotely, but in close cooperation with the Head of Business Development, and rest of our growing team across the world.
Who you are:

An experienced professional with an in-depth understanding of and subject matter expertise on working with businesses on responsible recruitment, ethical labour practices and modern slavery, and significant experience in business engagement/developing and managing senior management corporate sponsor relations (min. 5 years’ experience).

The ideal candidate should have experience in a business development role, a track record in building and developing business relations, and strong experience of giving presentations, delivering pitches and closing deals.

Experienced in maintaining and developing corporate sponsor relations including writing client and grant proposals.

An excellent trainer, with experience of delivering training to businesses.

A strong project manager and great organiser, with the ability to set and meet demanding targets and deadlines, and to hold others accountable to those.

A professional who has worked with or within the construction, manufacturing, consumer goods, apparel, finance or care sector on responsible business behaviour.

An excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, with experience of developing and building new successful working relationships with a range of stakeholders, as well as confidence in representing the organisation professionally at a variety of events.

A motivated and enthusiastic worker, able to work independently and with remote colleagues/stakeholders.

Someone with a good eye for detail, whilst retaining sight of the bigger picture.

My client is a values led organisation whose purpose is to seek justice for those who have died or been seriously injured in conflict, including deciding whether a criminal investigation should be part of the investigation.
The organisation is responsible for investigations into deaths and serious injuries, recovering information for families, victims, and survivors of conflict, working towards much needed closure for all those affected.
The Management Accountant is a key role that will provide in-year financial management, produce financial reports and add insight and analysis to meet budget holder needs.
Key responsibilities of the role will include;
- Budget management, working with budget holders to develop robust budget plans and monitor delivery
- Support budget holders with monthly forecasting
- Identify and monitor budget risks and opportunities, supporting stakeholders to develop mitigating actions
- Undertake all month-end tasks to ensure accurate financial information
- Prepare finance reports and translate financial information to non-finance stakeholders, providing narrative behind the numbers to influence decision making
In order to be successful in the role, you will need to be either formally qualified or working towards qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIPFA) as well as extensive financial experience, including journals and accruals, forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis.
Experience gained in a government department or ALB/NDPB would be preferred however applications from within wider Not for Profit or public sector organisations would also be encouraged.
As this is a relatively new organisation, candidates will also need to enjoy working in a dynamic environment and be keen to contribute to the continual development of the function.
This role is offered on flexible hybrid basis with at least 1 day per week in the London Westminster office.

About the role
As CEO, you'll support us through a new stage in our development. We're operating in a fluid political environment and so our new leader needs to be confident to work in a political setting while also having the skills and experience to run an organisation like ours.
You'll take ultimate responsibility for our campaign to achieve Proportional Representation in the House of Commons. You will:
- as leader of the campaign, be primarily responsible for building the popular and political momentum needed to secure this seismic reform;
- as leader of the organisation, be primarily responsible for defining and executing MVM’s strategy, while ensuring its good financial health and legal and regulatory compliance; and
- as leader to our staff and volunteer team, be primarily responsible for providing clarity of direction while ensuring the organisation maintains a collaborative, empowering and inspiring culture.
You will:
- lead the UK campaign for Proportional Representation;
- ensure MVM has a clear external brand, with consistent messages, effective and emotive arguments, and impactful use of evidence;
- be a spokesperson for the organisation on a variety of public platforms including national media and at key MVM events;
- create and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders;
- lead on development of MVM's post-election strategic plan;
- line manage and delegate responsibilities to staff, as appropriate;
- take ultimate responsibility for the good governance of MVM, including but not limited to the organisation’s financial health, legal compliance, and good standing with regulatory bodies;
- with support of relevant MVM staff, to ensure that the Board is supported in performing its governance role;
- support and comply with MVM’s policies active within the organisation pertinent to the role; and
- undertake other related duties as required to assist MVM in meeting its objectives.

Campaigning for Proportional Representation for the House of Commons
An exciting opportunity for a motivated and creative fundraiser to develop a strategic programme of mid to high level donors for a charity working to build a fairer UK justice system within everyone’s reach.
As the Major Gifts Fundraiser, you will play a pivotal role in developing and sustaining fundraising relationships, working closely with the Director of Development, Chief Executive and Senior Management Team. You will be an integral member of the Development Team and work across other teams, particularly the Communications and Policy Teams to maximise fundraising and engagement opportunities and to deliver a first-class giving experience to every major individual donor.
The JUSTICE team currently work in a hybrid manner. Staff members have access to office space in London, however, attendance is currently optional. Our staff enjoy flexible working conditions, 27 days annual leave, plus the week between Christmas and the New Year, 8% employer pension contribution and access to an Employee Assistance Programme.
