As soon as these individuals come to our attention – and regardless of whether they are currently in prison or free to mingle with the community – our team work to progress these cases as quickly as possible, so that offenders can be deported from the UK. And it is here that we need your input.
Working a minimum of 30 hours per week (as this role is open on both a full-time and part-time basis) you will see to it that we are providing a high-quality service. Leading a team of up to 10 Executive Officers, you will allocate and monitor the cases they are working on, seeing to it that each detention and deportation case is progressing as it should. This will include identifying and resolving blockages to deportations, including responding to litigation and complying with recommendations that have been made at case progression panels. Crucially, you will also made immediate, evidence-based decisions about whether cases should enter the detention estate, so you will ensure every case is handled fairly, and that the special needs and vulnerabilities of each person have been taken into consideration.
We want to ensure that those guilty of serious offences are removed from the UK at the earliest possibility within the Early Removal Scheme, so you will be encouraged to share your ideas on how we can improve our processes. You will also ensure we have an ongoing pipeline of talent by developing the skills and knowledge of your team, and you will ensure they are benefitting from a supportive working environment in which they feel able to discuss their own methods and ideas.
This is a highly varied and deeply interesting role in which you will make a tangible difference to the safety and security of the nation. You will also have the opportunity to build your own professional network, as you will work collaborate with a wide range of partners including The Police, The Crown Prosecution Service, HM Prison and Probation, and HM Courts & Tribunals Service. To be equal to the challenge, you will therefore have exceptional interpersonal skills, particularly as you will be required to brief Ministers and other senior officials. As a natural leader who can get the best out of a team, you will have good stakeholder engagement and management capabilities, so it goes without saying that you will have strong verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable working at pace in order to meet tight deadlines without ever lowering standards, it would be ideal if you have previous line management experience. A working at knowledge of immigration processes, policies and legislation would also be helpful.

This role is pivotal to MapAction being operationally ready. AKF(UK) Partnerships Officers are part of the Global Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) Partnerships team tasked with identifying and cultivating new funding partnerships and strengthening existing ones to support our strategic goals.
This Partnerships Officer will focus specifically on the management of Schools2030 grants and supporting the Schools2030 team in resource mobilisation opportunities associated with Schools2030, including current and prospective donor engagement and concept/proposal development and review.
Schools2030 is a ten-year participatory learning improvement programme based in 1,000 government schools across ten countries. Using the principles of human-centred design and focusing on the key transition years of ages 5, 10 and 15 years old, Schools2030 supports teachers and students to design and implement education micro-innovations. These low-cost and scaleable innovations will inform and transform education systems to improve holistic learning outcomes for the most marginalised learners worldwide. 4. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND CORE TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
4.1 Grants Management
• Manage and monitor a portfolio of grants through regular interface and coordination with AKF(UK)’s Partnerships team, AKF(UK)’s programme finance team, and relevant AKDN agencies/field units, acting as a central resource for field units in donor best practice. This person proactively supports the resolution of challenges as they arise and is expected to have a full understanding of the status of each grant at all times
• Interface with donors and communicate on a regular basis about the implementation of on-going grants to ensure strong, enduring relationships
• Support the preparation, review and feedback process on donor reports to ensure reports comply with donor requirements and are produced on time and to a high standard
• Coordinate contractual amendments, changes, and project adaptations, engaging with donors in a pro-active and diplomatic way and flagging potential changes (e.g. budget revisions, extensions, risks) in advance to ‘trouble shoot’ and ensure smooth project implementation
• Undertake coordination and administrative tasks related to grants and support the maintenance and update of grant management tools and tracking systems, such as AIMS and other tools applicable to Schools2030
4.2 Resource Mobilisation
• Support the review and strengthening of concept notes and proposals in coordination with the Schools2030 team
• Conduct due diligence of new partners (donors, NGOs, research partners, etc.) in coordination with AKF(UK)’s programme finance team and as applicable, AKF’s Global Programmes Team
• Develop and contribute to positioning pieces and communication materials (e.g. presentations, narrative overviews) to enable regular and effective engagement with donors
• Research, scan and source relevant information regarding new donors and funding opportunities to identify potential funding matches and gather intelligence
• Prepare donor briefs and talking points for donor meetings, referencing latest donor strategies, field-level discussions and possible donor/AKDN matches to consider positioning during meetings
• Support the maintenance and updating of AIMS ensuring all opportunities go through the Go/No Go process in a timely manner and properly tracked thereafter

About World Child Cancer
Most childhood cancers are curable. We know this because survival rates in the UK and Europe regularly top 80%. But for children in low and middle-income countries, the prognosis is bleak with their chance of survival falling to 20%.
The solution? It already exists. The challenge is making sure that every child gets the diagnosis, treatment and care they need. Yet in many countries, public and professional awareness of childhood cancer is dangerously low. Opportunities for early diagnosis are missed. Referrals are delayed. About the Role
Following a period of exponential growth in foundations and major gifts of over five-fold in five years, we're seeking an ambitious and dynamic Philanthropy Manager - Major Gifts and Foundations to take the c£1.5m programme to twice this value in the next three years. You'll be responsible for the success of the overall major gifts and foundations strategy to engage, retain and inspire loyal supporters and partners in addition to attracting new, long-term, multi-year funders.
You will work across the organisation, including with trustees, to develop relationships and funding applications to foundations. You will build lasting relationships with high-net-worth individuals and families, and help foster a culture of philanthropy and partnerships across the organization, with the sponsorship of the Senior Management Team.
About you
Your main tasks will include growing sustainable income from grant-making trusts and major donors donating to Anti-Slavery International's work in the UK and internationally, designing and implementing robust prospect research, and managing a small personal portfolio of donors and prospects.
To be successful in this role, you will have a track record of success in six-figure+ multi-year restricted and unrestricted funding from high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and foundations. You will have a proven ability to develop, manage, and deliver against accurate budgets and forecasts, and excellent bid-writing skills that have generated considerable income from trusts and foundations and high net-worth individuals, ideally in an international organization.
You will have a positive attitude, resilience, and self-motivation driven by a passion for the cause. You will be able to think strategically, identify opportunities, make decisions and prioritise effectively and, as a manager within Anti-Slavery International, demonstrate leadership, initiative, and a strong desire to achieve agreed objectives.

The Role
Are you a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant? This role is ideal for a candidate who is part-qualified and is ready to play a pivotal role in managing financial transactions, reconciliations, and supporting compliance within the central finance team.
You will also have responsibility for maintaining the accounts of CIPD Ireland and providing financial support to the team in that region. Whilst this is a hybrid UK-based role, travel to Ireland to build relationships, support the team and understand the business will be required once or twice a month.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Using our accounting system to process and manage financial transactions.
- Owning day to day accounting activities to include managing payroll process, accounts receivable, accounts payable and credit control for CIPD Ireland.
- Posting transactions and month end journals in NetSuite including prepayments, accruals and revenue deferrals.
- Reconciliation between Netsuite and billing system.
- Collaborating with colleagues to understand revenue expectations for current and future months.
- Financial reporting, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, and providing insights into our financial performance.
- Preparation of tax returns and compliance reporting and participation in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Collaborating with external auditors.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Part-qualified (e.g. ACCA or equivalent) or qualified by experience.
- Accounting experience in a similar role, with a focus on ERPs such as Oracle (NetSuite), SAP, Microsoft.
- Experience of financial accounting and statutory reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (vlookups, sumifs and pivot tables) and other relevant software applications.
- A working understanding of Netsuite and its technical capability. Proficient in using larger company accounting systems for financial transactions and reporting.
- Ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks concurrently, manage own time and meet all deadlines particularly around month end and audit.
- Strong analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, especially in cross-cultural settings.
- Well organised with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with remote teams.

The People & Culture Generalist – Internews Europe will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative tasks of the People & Culture (P&C) department. The role will support the People & Culture Manager – Internews Europe in ensuring efficient and best practice processes and procedures within the organisation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, with other duties upon request:
The P&C Generalist - Internews Europe holds primary responsibility for supporting all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment and selection, onboarding, inductions, staff progression and compliance.
· Partnering with other members of the global People & Culture team to support hiring and recruitment processes.
· Overseeing onboarding processes for UK staff members.
· Acts as the initial point of contact for all IEU staff inquiries with regards to People & Culture policies, procedures, staff benefit, leave balances, and general enquiries.
· Working with other members of the PC team, supports annual processes, such as the appraisal and goal setting processes, insurance renewals, ethics program, etc.

· Responsible for timely compliance check and review including clearances, Right to Work, visas, and GDPR.
· Working with P&C manager to ensure timely update of the payroll spreadsheet, including new joiners, leavers, and all variable changes and ensures all associated processes have been carried out in line with the supplier agreement and in good time.
· Managing all employee leave processes, including annual leave, sickness absence, maternity, paternity, adoption, compassionate leave, etc.
· Leading and coordinating P&C responses on behalf of IEU to third party audit requests from donors.
· Supporting process and workflow development and data management within the Human Resources’ Information System as needed.
· Supports employee resource groups and material development, and leads staff working groups and task forces in support of Internews' Belonging, Dignity, and Justice work.
· Communicating all changes related to employee lifecycle to external payroll provider and finance staff as needed.
· Acts as primary liaison with payroll and finance team on any matters related to staff pay and payroll-related changes.
· Supporting, developing, and conducting staff trainings on People & Culture topics, policies, and processes
· Working closely with other members of the global People & Culture team to ensure the completion of standardized, efficient, streamlined People & Culture processes that supports a cohesive staff experience.
· Recommending new approaches, processes and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the PC department and services performed.
· Staying abreast of all UK legal and compliance issues.

- Finance business partner to project teams and partners, offering financial management support.
