About the Role:The Cyber Security Manager is responsible for protecting the organisation's digital assets and information systems from cyber threats. This role is central to developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy to safeguard data integrity, confidentiality, and availability. The Cyber Security Manager ensures the organisation's compliance with regulatory requirements, manages risk, and assist withs proactively identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities and incidents. The primary goal is to reduce the likelihood and impact of cyber-attacks, ensuring the organisation can operate securely and without interruption.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and Implement Security Policies:

• ·Design, implement, and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with organisational goals and compliance requirements.
•  Ensure adherence to industry best practices and regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).

Manage Security Operations:

• ·Oversee the daily security operations, including monitoring and analysis of potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• ·Lead the deployment and management of security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM).

Incident Response and Management:

• · Develop and maintain an incident response plan, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to effectively respond to security incidents.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

•  Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability assessments to identify security risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Manage security audits and penetration testing to ensure continuous improvement of the security posture.

Training & Development:

• Plan and deliver cybersecurity training and awareness programs for staff, monitoring effectiveness of the program.
• Assist with upskilling the existing IT support team, fostering a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with other departments (e.g., IT, compliance, legal) to ensure cybersecurity measures align with business objectives.
• Communicate security risks and strategies to senior management and stakeholders.

Stay Current with Threats and Trends:

•  Keep up to date with emerging security threats, trends, and technologies to proactively enhance the organisation's security defenses.
• Engage with the cybersecurity community and participate in professional development opportunities.

Experience & Certifications/Qualifications:

• Relevant  higher level qualification in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) is preferred.

About the Role: The Information Management Specialist will focus on the classification of organisational data, ensuring appropriate confidentiality levels, and implementing robust data loss prevention strategies. The role includes analysing and optimizing current SharePoint libraries and leading the development and implementation of an intranet to enhance collaboration and information sharing across the organization. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Information Classification and Data Confidentiality:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive information classification framework to categorize data based on sensitivity, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with various departments to identify and classify sensitive data, ensuring appropriate security controls and access levels are applied.
• Regularly review and update classification policies and procedures to maintain compliance with legal and regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

 Data Loss Prevention (DLP):

• Develop, implement, and manage data loss prevention strategies and tools to safeguard sensitive information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

• Ensure that SharePoint libraries are aligned with the organization's information classification framework and DLP strategies.

Intranet Development and Implementation:

• Define and document the intranet’s structure, features, and functionality, including user roles, content management, and search capabilities.

About the Role: The Technology Project Manager role at MAP will be responsible for overseeing the successful planning, execution, and completion of technology-driven projects that enhance our organisational capabilities and support our mission.

You will leverage your expertise to lead cross-organisational project teams, coordinate resources, both internally and externally, and ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. A specialist Arts University based in central London is seeking an IT Support Manager for a full-time permanent role. The organisation is a prestigious arts focused University with around 600 students. They have two sites – one being the main teaching campus near Kings Cross, the other an art gallery with some teaching capacity, on the Strand.

The role is paying a starting salary of £50,942 per annum plus an excellent package including a leading pension and 36 days annual leave. The role will be based onsite predominantly at the Kings Cross site – working from home 1 day per week may be considered.

Reporting to the Head of Information Services, Systems & Technology (ISS&T)  and working in a small IT team of around 5 people, this role line manages 1 IT Support Officer and takes the lead on the service delivery aspects of the IT team. This covers frontline user support and managing the daily operations of the IT function. The organisation predominantly deploy Windows devices, but they have an increasing number of MACs so experience of supporting IOS would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will come from an IT Support/Manager background, should have experience managing small teams, and should have a strong user focus and service delivery background. Experience from within the Higher Education, Arts, Charity, or Membership sector would be advantageous for the role. The role will also involve the development of a new asset management tool and leading on a telephony focused project.

The post holder will:

-Manage the Service Desk for both sites and the relationship with the 3rd party providers 
-Monitor and report on existing service to assist in developing the IT & AV Support Service 
-Provide professional and technical leadership and operational management to the IT Helpdesk team with a dotted line to the AV Support team
-Implement service standards and develop common systems and processes based on industry best practice.
-Ensure that the IT & AV Support Service is efficient, effective and can adapt to changing circumstances. 
-Work alongside the Project Manager and IT Operations Manager in the delivery of IT projects 
-Provide technical, project and administrative support to the Head of ISS&T 
-Maintain and administer Active Directory and Entra user and service accounts

-Manage and maintain IT asset information

Candidate requirements:

-Degree level qualification and ITIL qualifications desirable

Senior Legal Advisor (Procurement & Fundraising)

We have an exciting full-time, permanent opportunity for a Senior Legal Advisor to join our Legal Services Team. A small, dedicated team of Lawyers central to the work of Mencap across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We work closely with Mencap’s Teams and Directorates across the organisation to ensure that they operate safely and securely, and providing advice on complex issues.

At Mencap, we offer flexibility about where the role is undertaken. For this role, a presence in Peterborough is preferable where possible, but the individual would be required to attend team meetings in our Peterborough office once a month. Occasionally, it will be necessary to travel nationwide.

The Senior Legal Advisor will provide high quality commercial contracts and documentation, advice and assistance to support all Directorates across Mencap, as part of Mencap’s internal procurement process and Fundraising Teams. 

The Senior Legal Advisor will be required to work with different Teams and Directorates across Mencap to draft suitable and robust commercial contracts (including IT contracts); and standard terms and conditions; or review third party’s contracts and terms.  Similarly, will be required to negotiate contracts and provide advice for the Fundraising Teams, and ensuring regulatory compliance and radar scanning for changes in law which impacts fundraising.

The Senior Legal Advisor will represent the Legal Services Team on a number of Panels and Committees, such as the Procurement Panel, and would be the lead point of contact with the Legacy Team.

Qualifications:

For this role you would need to be a Solicitor or Barrister qualified to practise in England (or comparable jurisdiction) preferably holding a practising certificate. Previous in-house experience would be viewed positively.

Essential key skills, experience & abilities required for this role:

· 5+ years PQE and experience in commercial contract law

· Excellent drafting and negotiation skills

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Executive and managing a small team of Finance and HR personnel, the Head of Finance & Resources position is broad in scope. The post holder will be responsible for the development and implementation of RHSU strategy relating to finance, people and culture, governance and digital infrastructure. The post holder will ensure the delivery and resourcing of operating plans, policy and operating procedures to ensure that the Union delivers its strategic objectives across its support services. The position sits on the Senior Leadership team and will be expected to play a key role in the delivery of our 3 new strategic enabling themes: People & Culture, Well Governed & Sustainable and Physical & Digital Infrastructure.

Key responsibilities are centred around, but not limited to:

Strategic Management and Leadership – including supporting the delivery of the Union’s strategic plan, leading on financial planning, overseeing compliance and forming part of a strong Leadership Team with other senior colleagues and Sabbatical Officers.

People Management – including leading on the People & Culture plan, leading on recruitment and embedding a learning & development culture at RHSU.

Financial Management – including creating a culture of strong financial literacy, leading on all budgeting & forecasting, financial controls, the annual external audit and having overall responsibility for the accuracy of financial records, including but not limited to the organisation’s VAT returns, payroll & pensions, fixed asset portfolio and funds.

Service Development & Delivery – including ownership of contract management, cooperation with the University over block grant funding & IT service provision, leading on change projects around digital infrastructure and both internal & external compliance & reporting.

The successful candidate will play an important role in shaping a key department at RHSU, at an exciting time of change.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for an experienced finance professional who is ideally at least part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA. An excellent understanding of charity finance, regulation and governance is required, along with experience of senior level management and leadership in a similar sized organisation. 

Skills and experience with developing strategic plans, project/change management and leading on digital infrastructure projects would also be very useful experience to succeed in the role. Strong commercial acumen would be beneficial too -against a backdrop of constantly changing commercial considerations and wider Higher Education sector pressures. 

Whilst core finance skills are essential, both at a strategic and operational level – experience in a broader resources role covering HR, IT, governance or compliance would suit this post well. A demonstrable interest and commitment to a values-driven and student-led organisation is also required.
