Your New Role

As a Management Accountant, you will support the fundraising team, including team leaders, managers, and the Director, with budgeting and forecasting. Your key responsibilities will include providing financial analysis, budget support, and financial planning. You will prepare management accounts, conduct variance analysis, and assist with the annual budget process. Additionally, you will monitor actual performance against budget, forecast for the year, and prepare journal adjustments, month-end accruals, and prepayments.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Significant experience in Management Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Proficiency in the month-end process.
• Experience in preparing and posting journal entries (standard journals, accruals).
• Strong ability to communicate with and present information to senior management and provide advice to non-financial budget holders.
• Ideally, you are a qualified accountant or very close to qualification.

This is a new role for The Connection at St Martin’s and reflects our ambitions to deliver housing opportunities for our clients. In our strategy we aim to ensure that 300 of our clients are successfully and sustainably housed. 

This is an ambitious target and the person holding the role will need to deliver our existing accommodation services while continuing to network and create relationships with other organisations to bring more opportunities to our clients.

The charity provides support and expertise to local authorities around the country to set up and manage Local House Projects (LHPs) so that young people leave care in a planned and supported way.

As Practice Lead you will have primary responsibility for supporting LHPs in The Midlands but will also be involved in other areas of work. You will support staff in LHPs to create an environment where young people transition to adulthood in a positive and supported way. You will work with the Care Leavers National Movement as well as the core team to ensure that young people continue to drive their own LHP and develop practice at both a local and national level.

The initiative, co-designed with young people, began by asking, "What makes a house a home?” Local House Projects in England and Scotland help care leavers transition into permanent tenancies, fostering a supportive community. The charity has helped over 450 young people successfully move into their own homes, with no evictions or tenancy breakdowns, ensuring a secure start for their futures.

The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. Additionally, our UR4Jobs project focusses on both client wellbeing and breaking down the many barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged people every day.

The role

Is leading the charity through its next phases of development as it prepares itself for year on year increases in demand with a focus on delivering the charity’s future resilience plan (Project 12/25). The CEO is accountable for overall charity performance (financial, operational, governance, compliance), team (paid and volunteer) support and development. Additionally, there are a wide range of community and external partner relationships to manage and develop. About You

You have a stable CV that demonstrates you have built and led successful teams and enabled growth and/or transformation for your organisation – ideally in an equivalent charity/non-profit environment. Purpose of the job 

The Head of Policy & Public Affairs is responsible for leading UK Youth’s influencing work with Westminster, devolved administrations, and local government. They will lead our advocacy for ambitious and actionable policies that will help unlock youth work for all young people. They will ensure that our policy recommendations are informed by the strongest available evidence, meaningful youth involvement, and the expertise of youth workers. About the role:

This role will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to broaden the use of financial capability educational content.  The development of the financial capability proposition will be to support our charitable objectives as well as generate income to fund our charitable activities. They will build strong relationships with appropriate stakeholders and contribute to enhancing our brand identity.This role will also oversee day-to-day operations across the following services e.g. IT, facilities management, project management and HR).

This is an exciting strategic leadership role which enjoys both the flexibility of hybrid working and flexible part-time hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Creating and implementing strategies to promote and broaden the use of our Financial Capability learning materials.
• Developing a business model for the financial capability content.
• Developing a suite of metrics to measure success.
• Managing and growing relationships with appropriate stakeholders.
• Manage operational risks and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Work collaboratively with the senior leadership team.
• Oversee day to day operations across the following services (e.g., IT, Facilities management, Project management, HR).

You will have:

• Worked in a similar senior role, preferably at Director level.
• Proven experience in successfully developing learning materials.
• A track record of implementing and operating Learning Management systems and CRM systems.
• Experience in overseeing day to day operations including managing relationships with third party providers.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and effectively manage projects.
• Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and negotiation skills, with a strong ability to collaborate with and persuade stakeholders at all levels.

In this senior communications and research professional role, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing strategic objectives, specifically through the development of a comprehensive research and communications strategy that aligns with our charitable objects and goals. Your responsibilities encompass brand development, research and content creation initiatives, managing our online presence and media relations.

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior communications and research professional who is looking to apply their expertise in a strategic leadership role while enjoying both the flexibility of hybrid working and flexible part-time hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing the research and communications strategy including PR, marketing and stakeholder management, ensuring alignment with our charitable goals.
• Defining the brand identity and developing brand guidelines.
• Developing and managing research projects, content creation and storytelling.
• Leading and managing the digital communications for the charity.
• Leading and handling media relations.
• Leading and developing stakeholder communications.
• Leading and managing the promotion and delivery of events as well as networking and identifying speaking opportunities for LFBF spokespeople

You will have:

• Worked in a senior PR and Communications role, preferably at Director level.
• Excellent strategic communication and brand management skills.
• Project management skills to oversee PR and marketing plans, and expertise in identifying and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
• Research, content creation and storytelling experience, as well as managing digital platforms, including websites, social media, and digital advertising.
• Experience in organising and promoting events, networking, and securing speaking opportunities.
• Strong media relations skills covering developing press materials through to managing media coverage.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

ABOUT YPF TRUST

YPF Trust is a national charity that focuses on collaboration in place for children and young people – we know that working in partnership makes children and young people’s lives better.

We support a growing network of over 40 areas across England by providing tools, resources, advice, enthusiasm, and challenge to established, emerging and completely new partnerships.

The YPF Trust originated from work initiated by John Lyon's Charity in Brent in 2014/15. YPF Trust also hosts the Centre for supplementary education (formerly NRCSE) to ensure the continuation of support and guidance to community-led settings offering supplementary (also known as out-of-school) education to children and young people.

Supplementary schools are community-based initiatives to provide additional educational support for children who also attend mainstream schools. They are often geared to provide specific heritage languages, cultural and religious teaching for children from ethnic minorities as well as additional literacy, numeracy, science and homework support.

Working alongside local partnerships YPF Trust supports safe, effective delivery in communities and collaborates with them to raise the profile of community-led activities among mainstream schools and other children’s services.
