Salary: £39,327 rising to £42,426 per annum with biennial increments

Location: Remote working with travel to Together Trust locations in Greater Manchester and surrounding area and attending some meetings throughout England where necessary.

Leading on Policy and Campaign development of the charity’s policy, your role will be to put forward evidence-based policy recommendations and campaigns and working with the people we support to influence change ensuring that the voice of the people we support is heard and acted on by key decision makers. 

Acting as the spokesperson for the Together Trust and the people it supports on policy issues you will be responsible for the following:

• Managing and developing the Together Trust’s policy and campaigns strategy in line with the Trust’s strategic long-term plan.
• Leading on the development of policy priorities with staff and the people we support. Working with them to develop a Theory of Change for the Together Trust. Working directly with the Trust Directors, Trustees and external agencies.
• Representing the Together Trust at meetings with MPs, Councillors, parliamentary groups, select committees to help drive forward Together Trust’s policy and campaigns work.
• Improving the Together Trust’s visibility in UK Parliament by attending sessions, submitting evidence and nurturing networks.
• Reporting on policy, campaigns and participation activities to the Supporting People sub-group, providing updates on activity and progress against key milestones.
• This role has line management responsibilities.

We’re looking for someone who has:

• An undergraduate degree qualification (Level 6 or equivalent), preferably in a relevant discipline with a good understanding of the UK political environment, local and national government structures and decision-making.
• Line management experience supporting team members to achieve their KPIs.
• Experience of using different campaign tactics including recruitment actions and support journeys.
• Experience of speaking at events or representing an organisation in a professional setting.

The Consultant role will support the Director and Mobilise team to coordinate and  deliver a range of projects supporting our clients. The post holder's duties will primarily focus on providing capacity building support to third sector organisations alongside organising events, undertaking community outreach, building and maintaining relationships and networks, writing reports based on analysis and research, and engaging with clients and project stakeholders to prepare bids and deliver new work. 

Main Duties:

• Plan and manage projects to ensure activities are delivered effectively to timescale and budget

• Plan and deliver fieldwork, outreach projects and events to engage residents and organisations

• Undertake research and data collection, including resident engagement activities

• Lead and support the design and delivery of workshops, training opportunities, and resources to support NFP organisations on a range of key capacity building areas

• Work closely with project leads to prepare reporting and supporting documents

Skills, Knowledge & Experience Required (Essential) 

• Supporting/Working with or in not for profit (NFP) organisations, in particular voluntary, community and/or social enterprises 

• Knowledge of key areas that create a strong and sustainable NFP organisation

• Knowledge or experience of working with NFP organisations of different sizes from grassroots to key anchor and national level organisations and a clear understanding of their current challenges

• Facilitating and developing or supporting events, workshops, focus groups or other similar activities

Key Terms 

• Salary Range: £27,500-£38,000 (FTE), depending on experience

We are looking for a Research Officer to join our Campaigns, Policy and Research directorate. This busy team work with politicians, officials, and the wider sector to raise the profile of issues affecting the Armed Forces community, and lead evidence-based change to deliver better policy and services to address these issues.

As a Research Officer, this role will see you supporting RBLs role of designing, commissioning, and delivering research, analysis, and evaluation relating to the Armed Forces Community and the policy and practice that affects them.

We are looking to recruit a female Project Worker for our diverse team at the Chrysalis Project in South London. Reporting to the Deputy Manager you will be responsible for providing person-centred support to clients to manage their tenancies and access independence.

As the post-holder, you will be working in our Women only Palace Road location, to maintain an environment of support for women with complex needs.

In this role you will:

• Support clients to liaise with external services like GP, substance misuse teams, mental health teams, social services.
• Support with all necessary skills to enable an individual to move on to more independent accommodation,
• Work shifts which are normally 8am - 8:30pm. You will also be expected to work some weekends and Bank Holidays.
• Carry a caseload of clients and be their lead worker.

About you

You will be able to liaise effectively with external agencies, have clear communication skills, a non-judgemental approach, and a good working knowledge of homeless clients and the challenges they face.

The successful candidate does not have to have direct experience in a similar environment. We are seeking a candidate who is willing to learn and who has a strong understanding of the needs of homeless and vulnerable people, especially those with complex needs. We’re looking for a passionate policy and campaigns expert to lead our work driving equity in healthcare and securing justice in the Infected Blood Scandal.

Working closely with the Chief Executive and Management Team, you will lead the development and delivery of HCT’s influencing strategy including:

• Driving our work on the UK Infected Blood Inquiry and new compensation system, to ensure everyone affected can access justice and that the Inquiry recommendations are rapidly acted upon by the UK Government. 

• Developing the policy and campaigns strategy for our new Inclusion Health programme, focused on improving health and access to health services for marginalised and excluded populations (also known as “Inclusion health” or “PLUS” populations within the NHS Core20PLUS5 approach to addressing health inequalities). 

• Building strategic partnerships with like-minded organisations to ensure Government takes a long-term and evidence-based approach to hepatitis C elimination – meeting our target to eliminate hepatitis C in the UK by 2030. This will cut across work in drug policy, health and justice, inclusion health and communicable diseases.

This is a pivotal role for the organisation, coming at a crucial juncture in our 20-year history, and coinciding with a new Government and following the final report of the Infected Blood inquiry. 

The role will provide an excellent opportunity to take on wide-ranging policy and campaigns responsibilities encompassing research, influencing decision makers, building coalitions, developing campaigns and producing campaign materials, developing HCT’s campaigners’ network, and building public and political support for our aims and our communities. 

You will be a strategic thinker with great political and communication skills, enthusiasm for working directly with communities, and experience of policy, public affairs and/or campaigning work. Ideally, you will have an understanding of inequalities and/or experience of working with ‘Inclusion Health’ populations including people experiencing homelessness, the criminal justice systems, drug use and/or other exclusion. Lived experience is always a huge asset.

You will bring a track record of working on campaigns that have contributed to policy or other social change. You’ll be passionate about working with people with lived experience to develop policy and will have the ability to build influential relationships and to represent The Hepatitis C Trust with a range of external audiences.

The role

Reporting to the Senior Analyst and collaborating closely with our Public Affairs, Policy and Campaigns Consultant, you will help to ensure that FareShare has a robust impact and evaluation framework and deliver research projects that are able to clearly articulate and demonstrate the social and environmental outcomes of its work.

This role is central to an evidence-based culture and embedding evaluation into service development and delivery across our service. You will help shape the future of the charity by working with colleagues across FareShare, ensuring that impact and evaluation insights are used to drive service improvement and innovation. You will be supporting qualitative and quantitative research projects across key stakeholders and provide insight for our Marketing and Public Affairs work.

You will ensure that all outputs are brought to life and communicated across both internal and external communications channels to deliver compelling narratives which highlight the social and environmental impact of FareShare’s work. 1. 1-3 years’ experience of a similar role or working on Impact & Evaluation and research projects

2. In-depth knowledge and experience of impact measurement and evaluation methods, tools and techniques, such Theory of Change, logic models, quantitative and qualitative analysis, using evaluation frameworks

3. Experience analysing, interpreting and presenting internal data and contextual research into engaging insights for a variety of audiences

4. Strong communication & stakeholder engagement skills, such as report writing, stakeholder engagement, generating impact reports, presentations

We are looking for a new member of the digital communications team to lead on managing the Academy’s social media channels and setting the standard for digital multimedia content across the Academy for up to 10 months.

The role

This is a key role in the digital communications team, with oversight of the Academy’s externally facing social media channels. As you further develop these channels and lead on the delivery of content through them, you will play an important part in positioning the Academy as a thought leader and engaging new and existing audiences with our work.

You will co-ordinate with colleagues across the directorate to ensure our social channels are used effectively. You will also provide expertise and guidance to colleagues, own systems and workflows, own and develop content templates, and ensure quality control for our social content. You will run social media campaigns and activity, writing excellent copy, creating high quality visuals and evaluating success.

As you will lead on the production of digital content for the Academy, you will continue to develop guidelines and documentation for colleagues and suppliers, who you will work with as needed. You’ll enjoy creating graphics and some video content too. You’ll report on analytics regularly for departmental performance metrics, and you’ll use insights and evaluations to continuously optimise outputs and performance.

Location

Our light, spacious head office is based in a fantastic location in central London with views over St James’s Park and close to the West End. We operate hybrid, flexible working practices with a baseline for office based working of a mandatory weekly team day plus further days each week as required for the role and the Academy.

This pivotal role will address a significant gap in the protection and welfare of animals used in entertainment and media. Tens of thousands of animals are featured in films, television shows, advertisements, often facing substandard treatment and welfare conditions. Despite public concern, current legal and industry safeguards remain inadequate. 

The creation of this new role within the RSPCA, is not only vital for addressing current deficiencies in animal welfare within the entertainment industry but also reinforces the RSPCA's commitment to leading positive change. 

This role will drive forward critical initiatives, ensuring that the welfare needs of animals are prioritised and protected, reflecting the values and expectations of society.

This role is being offered as a 24 month fixed term contract. We are open to flexible working options, such as part time hours and the role will be offered on a hybrid working basis; working from home and from our London and or Horsham office.

What a day might look like for you:

As our Senior Scientific and Policy Officer - Animals in Entertainment & the Media, you will develop and implement a strategic plan to raise industry standards, improve legal protection, and shift public attitudes to improve the welfare of animals used in these industries.

The role is situated in the RSPCA's Wildlife Department but the scope of the work includes all animals, including companion animals, so you will work collaboratively across several departments. 

You can find a full description of what the role entails on the attached role profile but in a nutshell, we will look to you to:

• Generate and maintain RSPCA policies, strategic aims, goals and objectives relating to animals in entertainment and the media.
• Develop and implement a strategic influencing plan to improve industry standards, legal protection, and public attitudes towards animals in entertainment and the media
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including those in the entertainment industry, animal welfare organisations, and regulatory bodies, and represent the RSPCA in advocacy coalitions to achieve the RSPCA's goals and objectives.
• Prepare and deliver evidence-based briefing papers, policy reports, position statements, articles, and press releases.
• Work with RSPCA colleagues to ensure RSPCA standards are based on the latest scientific evidence and best practices.
• Undertake media interviews as the RSPCA's lead spokesperson on animal welfare in entertainment.
• Stay up-to-date on animal welfare science, legislation, ethics, and industry developments.

NSUN is a charity and a membership organisation. We are a network of grassroots, user-led mental health groups and people with lived experience of mental ill-health, distress and trauma. We connect, support and amplify the voices and work of our membership and work towards the redistribution of power and resource in mental health. 

We are looking for someone with relevant skills to develop and deliver NSUN’s policy strategy and policy/campaigns projects. NSUN takes a critical, political and rights-based approach to policy work at, centering social justice, anti-oppression, and the social and material determinants of distress and trauma. We want to work intersectionally, and do not consider ourselves to be a “single-issue” organisation. 

The Policy Manager will play a key role in creating collaborative spaces with members and partners to build momentum and sustainability for lived experience-led mental health policy and campaigns work. Though we do analyse, respond to, and engage with traditional policy mechanisms such as parliamentary processes and legislative change, our focus is more on building an alternative approach and challenging traditional silos at a time where the external environment is one of hostile and unjust structures, systems, and legislation. 

We are keen to hear from people with less traditional policy experience, such as experience of community organising: while this is not an entry-level position, you do not necessarily need to have traditional policy and influencing experience. NSUN is a user-led organisation, and all staff and trustees have lived experience of mental ill-health, distress or trauma.
