About World Child Cancer
Most childhood cancers are curable. We know this because survival rates in the UK and Europe regularly top 80%. But for children in low and middle-income countries, the prognosis is bleak with their chance of survival falling to 20%.
The solution? It already exists. The challenge is making sure that every child gets the diagnosis, treatment and care they need. Yet in many countries, public and professional awareness of childhood cancer is dangerously low. Opportunities for early diagnosis are missed. Referrals are delayed. And there are not enough health workers with the specialist skills to diagnose and treat the disease.
It is children and families that pay the price.
Determined to balance this inequality, World Child Cancer works with local, regional, and international partners in some of the world’s poorest countries to improve: Treatment, early diagnosis, family support and advocacy.

Overview
The Programme Manager role will be crucial to the success and development of the charity. You will be responsible for the management and delivery of our work in Bangladesh & Nepal, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget and to high standard. The role will include responsibility for building relationships with partners and potential new partners. The successful candidate will contribute to seeking out further grant opportunities within the sector, working closely with the rest of the programmes team and the fundraising team.

Person Specification
Essential:
- 3 to 5 years international development experience preferably in the field of global health
- Understands theory and practice of Health System Strengthening.
- Understands theory and practice of capacity building programming.
- Knowledge of programme design and planning of complex programmes, including logframes and theories of change.
- Track record of financial management skills, including budget management and planning
- Experience designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks, including collection and analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data.
- Excellent organisational, planning and time-management skills.
- Proven experience in building relationships and working in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders
- Fluent English (written and verbal)
Desirable:
- Experience living and working in low middle income countries, preferably in Asia.
- Experience working with healthcare professionals both in the UK and abroad.
- Experience managing statutory grants.
Terms of Employment
- Hours: Part-time (3 days per week)
- Location: UK based, hybrid role: Home working for the time being, with the provision for regular meetings in the office. Office attendance encouraged on Mondays (nr Fenchurch Street, London)
- Contract: Part-time Maternity Cover (subject to successful completion of 3 months’ probation)
- Salary: £34,000 - £38,000 Full Time Equivalent (will be pro rata for 3 days per week)
- Annual Leave: 25 days plus 8 bank holidays pro rata and an additional day at Christmas subject to Board approval

Role purpose:
The International Programmes Directorate Coordinator will work with the Director of International Programmes and senior leadership team to ensure that the Directorate have everything they need to excel in their roles and to keep key projects, pieces of work, and cross team communications on track. Working across functions, the coordinator will be responsible for oversight of key projects, the delivery of administrative tasks and the development of processes and communication channels that will help us to achieve our aims.
To support the 5 year Business Strategy, ShelterBox has launched a full Business Systems Transformation (BST) project which will deliver end to end functionality covering CRM, ERP, Supply Chain, Project Management and HR/Payroll. Therefore projects will include coordinating the departments input and work on the BST project as well as; optimisation of internal comms and information flow across the department; supporting project management administration (agendas; meeting notes; activity and decision logs; updated plans and timelines etc) for large cross-department projects and meetings; coordination of larger team meeting and away days; oversight of reporting systems across the team.
Who are we looking for?
ShelterBox is seeking someone with strong organisation, project management and communication skills who can work with a range of people across our organisation. They should be able to prioritise and manage their workload, demonstrating a strong attention to detail. Working across different teams and functions, they’ll be able to juggle concurrent projects and priorities, ensuring activity deadlines are met, progress is communicated to all stakeholders, and project work plans are kept up to date. The first year in the role will have a strong focus on the BST project, so experience of working in a project team as a contributor and co-ordinating project tasks would be beneficial.
With an ability to identify challenges, overlaps and opportunities across activity, they’ll work with the Director to help drive solutions. A keen interest to continually explore what is working across the wider charity sector, and the drive to apply the learnings to our own activity is key.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your awareness and understanding of the Humanitarian sector and gain insight into the leadership of a successful international programmes team.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Lead on the coordination of the departments input into the business systems transformation project, working closely with subject matter experts and project managers to arrange workshops, create relevant Standard Operating Procedures and documentation. Become a super user for the new software and take on responsibility for ensuring the team are fully trained and up to speed on the new functionality.
- Providing support to the Director of International Programmes as required on a day-to-day basis.
- Supporting IPD wide work by providing a secretariat function to teams.
- Coordinating meetings, establishing agendas or briefings, and ensuring actions are communicated and delivered across teams.
- Support due diligence check for partners.
- Supporting the team with planning and cross-team communication for priority projects, to achieve a collaborative working approach.
- Taking a coordinator role at times of major disaster ensuring information flows across the team, and ways of working are optimised.
- Information management - establishing efficient, and adaptive systems and structures to ensure the IPD team runs smoothly and professionally.
- Coordination of department together days and department planning meetings.
- General admin and support for the team as required, including development of materials and information for projects.
- Participating in the day-to-day work of the organisation – such as reporting against KPIs, attending team meetings, and taking a flexible approach.
- Representing the directorate at internal events, delivering presentations where necessary.

About the role
Sightsavers' content and stories team has responsibility for developing creative concepts and content in response to communications briefs, as well as supporting the organisation with video and editorial services, and sourcing photography, video, audio and written stories from projects across Africa and South Asia. This work generates a huge volume of multimedia digital assets which need to be easily searchable by everyone in the organisation. We've recently moved to a new digital asset management system which requires an ongoing process of training and development.
We are looking for a Digital Asset Manager to be responsible for embedding and maintaining our new digital asset management system (Asset Bank), offering training and support to teams using and uploading assets. You'll work closely with content producers and story collectors to develop workflows preparing and uploading new content and you'll lead their implementation. As digital asset manager you'll inspire staff with available content, finding creative ways to make the organisation aware of the assets the team is producing. You'll need to make strategic decisions and plans for optimising and promoting the system and its contents, but you won't shy away from getting stuck into the day to day of preparing and uploading content.
Key duties will include:
* Ownership of digital asset storage systems with strategic decision making about process, structure and content
* Asset preparation, upload and categorisation - maintaining consistency and quality across systems

About the Team:
The International Programmes Department is made up of four regions: East Africa, West Africa, Southern Africa, and South Asia; and three support teams: Programme Support and Knowledge team, the Programme Funding and Partnerships Team and the Programme Operations Team. The International Programmes Department delivers our work across Africa and South Asia focusing on quality programming including advocacy, learning and documentation.
About the Role:
The Senior Manager - Shared Services will manage an end-to-end process through which Country Programmes can access programme support. These include diagnosing support needs, identifying support options available, recommending and costing support options. Additionally, the Shared Services Manager will be expected to adopt a Country Programme (CPs) centred approach to decision making on support provisions and establish an independent mechanism for quality assurance of the support provision and accountable to the CPs.
We anticipate three-pronged phases to the Shared Services Model; (1) Preliminary assessment to establish potential demand needs, and supply availability, (2) Development of the end-to-end processes for demand and supply of expertise, (3) Implementation of the shared services
This is a new and exciting way of working of working, therefore we are looking for someone with an understanding and experience of running similar support services either:
- on an immediate short-term contract (6 months, as a Consultant) to help us with phases 1 and 2 or
- on a longer-term contract (2 years - renewable) to join us as soon as possible to manage entire the three phases.
In the role, you'll:
The setting of the strategic direction of the shared services model:
- Design the initial concept for the model and conduct the necessary assessments to facilitate further the development of the concept.
- Conduct a mapping of emerging skills internally and externally and establish a mechanism for developing a roster of experts
- Develop clear and well-defined process for requesting support, diagnosing support needs, identifying available support options and costing of support, and quality assurance mechanisms
Operational management of shared services delivery:
- Implement strategies to enhance support services
- Implement, monitor and analyse support tickets trends to identify areas for improvement
- Oversee -day-to-day operations including identifying service suppliers, negotiating contracts with external consultants, and agreeing clear tasks and costing with internal collaborators for core services as necessary
- Manage internal and external suppliers to ensure seamless integration of support solutions and services
Communication and relationship management:
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with country programmes reading support issues and resolutions
- Work closely with other IPD units and departments as appropriate to address concerns and feedback
- Foster strong relationship with country programmes, understanding their support needs and ensuring service delivery exceeds expectations
Quality assurance and Process Improvement:
- Establish and enforce quality standards for support interactions including signing off agreed recommendations
- Implement monitoring systems to ensure the delivery of high-quality support services.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators to evaluate the effectiveness of support services
- Continuously assess and improve support processes to increase efficiency
- Generate regular reports on support performance, country programme satisfaction and key performance indicators
About You:
- Proven experience in business management, preferably in the technical support services or related role
- Experience of managing service provision involving short-term simultaneous assignments to deliver support to time and budget, using in-house staff and/or consultants (institutions and/or self-employed individuals)
- Proven ability to introduce administrative and financial procedures successfully
- Proven experience of leading strategic change and ways working particularly related to establishing shared services or similar technical assistance services
- Experience of working with institutions in low- and middle-income countries
- Strong leadership and communication skills and demonstrated experience of leading, managing and motivating others and driving change.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to develop good relationships with diverse clients and international collaborators without face-to-face meetings
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset
- Analytical thinking and data-driven approach to decision making

Our Strategy aims to enhance the effectiveness of nutrition policy and programming by improving knowledge, stimulating learning, building evidence and providing support and encouragement to practitioners and decision-makers involved in nutrition and related interventions.
ENN’s portfolio includes projects specialising in Infant Feeding in Emergencies, Wasting and Stunting, Adolescent Nutrition and Management of small & nutritionally At-risk Infants under six months & their Mothers (MAMI), as well as our highly regarded international publication, Field Exchange (FEX).

Terms and Conditions

Essential requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent, in Nutrition/Community Nutrition or Public Health or Medicine discipline
- Demonstrable field/applicable experience across several relevant aspects of nutrition programming in low- and middle- income countries, e.g. CMAM, MAMI, IYCF, Maternal Nutrition, Adolescent Nutrition, Nutrition Information Systems
- Experience of in-depth knowledge management, and / or projects that focus on ‘learning’
- Strong knowledge of the current key topics and challenges in the nutrition sector, including MAMI, Adolescent, IFE, maternal and beyond

Project and Finance Manager
The Hanns Seidel Foundation is a German publicly funded political foundation with its headquarters in Munich and offices around the world. The London office was established in 2019 and its main activities are international conferences, smaller panel-discussions/ roundtables, and high-level delegation visits primarily in the UK. The focus of the Foundation’s work is in key political areas such as bilateral UK-German relations and Europe, security and defence issues, the economy, and devolution/federalism where it often cooperates with renowned partner organisations. We are looking to hire a project and finance manager at the earliest possible date to work as an essential part of our small dynamic office who will support the UK director in carrying out projects&activities, running the London office and who will be responsible for accurate accounting presentable to both German and UK authorities. Project and event management support

· Support the planning of GBCC’s various “China Capabilities” initiatives by liaising with speakers, universities, government departments, and course participants;
· Lead on the implementation of China Capabilities courses and related initiatives, including liaising with venues, suppliers, and setting up remote/hybrid delivery mechanisms;
· Support bilateral track two dialogue events and various in-person, online and hybrid dialogues in UK and China, including programme development, participant recruitment, operations and logistics;
· Strengthen cooperations with key stakeholders and organisations in the UK such as parliamentary groups, MPs, government departments, researchers, think tanks, government departments, etc.
· Develop marketing materials such as website content, fact sheets, newsletters and other promotional materials;
· Contribute to the wider strategic work of the GBCC including writing reports and briefings.
Qualifications and skills:
· A university degree in a relevant subject (such as Chinese Studies, Politics and International Relations)
· Work experience in events management, public relations, non-profit project management or similar
· Experience in managing diverse partnerships
· Excellent English writing and presentation skills
· Project management and budget management experience
· Excellent analytical, research and communication skills
· Integrity and high ethical standards
· Excellent cross-cultural and teamwork skills
· Willingness and ability to travel to China
· Willingness to occasionally work beyond normal office hours when needed
· Experience of working in, or with, partners in China
· Mandarin Chinese language skills at operational level
The role will report to the Deputy Director of the GBCC and will be based in London. The GBCC team works from home and in an office in central London on specific days, so the ability to be flexible and work effectively under this set-up is key to the role.

Salary range £30,000 - £32,000 per annum depending on experience. The successful candidate will join GBCC’s pension scheme. Candidates must already have permission to work in the UK.
