Survivors’ Network was established in 1990 by a group of survivors of childhood sexual abuse to provide services that would support other survivors. We were the first organisation in Brighton and Hove specifically focused on supporting adult survivors of sexual abuse in childhood, over time expanding to support to all survivors of sexual violence, regardless of age, gender or background, across the whole county of Sussex.  

At Survivors’ Network, we view people accessing our services as survivors, rather than victims. This does not ignore an individual’s experience of victimhood, but rather defines the basis upon which we begin all interactions with service users. 

Encompassing our values of bravery, compassion, collaboration and empowerment, we are looking for a creative, values-led woman to join us as Head of Finance. 

Sitting within the senior management team, the role of Head of Finance is to provide a robust and focused finance function for the organisation, as well as line managing the Finance Officer. The postholder will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on the financial position of the organisation, providing strategic financial advice to the Senior Management Team and managing the day-to-day finance operations. This includes complying with all statutory and regulatory requirements alongside supporting service managers across the team to manage income and expenditure across their programs of work.

You will be a qualified accountant with solid experience of working at a senior level. You will be adept at managing all aspects of finance, including financial reporting and providing management reporting tools. Your skills in analysing and interpreting financial data will be crucial in forecasting and leading on budgets. Additionally, you will have a proven track record in developing strategic business plans.

You will become part of a vibrant team who are passionate experts in survivor support.Your input will ensure that our beneficiaries with complex needs receive the highest standard of support and advocacy in a way that empowers them to move forwards in to independence.  You will also provide training and supervision and work closely with our volunteer caseworkers who provide support to beneficiaries with less complex needs.  Every day is different at Snowdrop.  You could be dealing with crisis siutations, completing long-term care plans, advocating for an indivuals rights, taking part in national policy discussion or designing and running training.

You will need to have a proven track record of providing this type of support to vulnerable people; can demonstrate skills that make you approachable and trustworthy; enjoy working both independently and as part of a team; and can keep good written records.

THE ROLE
A key member of the team responsible for delivering and developing our new visitor offer at Hainault Forest, predominantly through the running of our Woodland Trust Visitor Centre. The role is responsible for helping to staff the visitor centre on a rota basis; providing an important meet & greet function to visitors as well as signposting, providing information about the site, recruiting members and undertaking retail transactions.

The Marketing and Communications Officer will lead on the marketing and communications aspects of the Hainault Forest visitor experience, ensuring that visitors have a high quality experience while here, and also raising the profile of the forest in the local community and beyond. This role will contribute to engaging people with the forest in a way that inspires them to take action and connect with our cause. Alongside partner colleagues at Vision Redbridge, they will develop and deliver an annual communications and marketing plan that fit our themes and propositions, creating opportunities for membership recruitment, fundraising and retail sales.

Our work at Hainault Forest is delivered in partnership with London Borough of Redbridge and Vision RCL. 

This is a part time role (2.5 days per week) and a fixed term contract until May 2025.

About this key role

We fund mainly in Africa, Asia, and Latin America where income is often hardest to access and can have the biggest impact for people and biodiversity. Our funding is raised each year, mainly from family foundations and trusts, as well as from individuals, corporates, and international NGOs, with a current annual income of £2.6m/year. WFN is governed by a committed trustee board. Our team is dynamic, passionate about our mission and ambitious. The charity benefits from high profile support from Patron, HRH The Princess Royal, and Ambassadors Sir David Attenborough, Kate Humble, Tom Heap, and Alastair Fothergill. Following the charity’s 30th anniversary in 2023, and in line with our ambition to raise £3m/year by 2025, we are expanding our team to increase the amount of support we can provide to our growing network of conservationists around the world and tell their stories.

The opportunity
“Saving our planet is now a communications challenge. We know what to do, we just need the will” Sir David Attenborough. WFN is a fundraising and grant-giving nature conservation charity. Established in 1993, we have channelled £23 million to 220 conservation leaders in 80 countries across the Global South, benefitting wildlife, landscapes, and people. We are now seeking to expand the team in line with our activities by recruiting a Communications Assistant to maintain and grow the organisation’s online communications across digital and social media platforms and support the team with office administration and event organisation. The post-holder should be keen to make a difference by working in a small team across an impactful organisation. They should have demonstratable skills in online communications and audience engagement, knowledge of wildlife conservation issues, experience with event organisation and the ability to support a vibrant team to flourish. The Communications Assistant will report to The Head of Communications with matrix management to the Operations Manager, dividing their time by working on communications 3 days p/w and office administration and charity events 2 days p/w. Started in 2022, Utilita Giving provides grants to voluntary sector organisations, who can alleviate and prevent suffering and hardship caused by fuel and food poverty.

We raise awareness about this issue and enlist the public’s support in fundraising campaigns. Supported by our Patrons David James (ex-England footballer) and Adam Scorer (Chief Executive of National Energy Action), there is huge potential for this small but mighty charity to become a household name.

We are seeking an experienced Donor and Stakeholder Engagement Officer, who has a proven track record in fundraising and effectively engaging donors and stakeholders to support a charitable cause.

You will be successful in submitting Tenders, Grant Applications, Bids etc. and competently engaging with high-net-worth individuals and corporate donors. You will be highly organised, numerically proficient and be great at building effective relationships.

You’ll be part of a small team, reporting into the Executive Director, however we work with a diverse stakeholder network of other charities and the general public, therefore you will have excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.

We generally work remotely, but you will be required to come into the Chandlers Ford office once a month for meetings.

QAC is a charity that runs a college, supported living (known as Independence Plus) and community services for young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities.

The College has been at its current location since 1903. Our original purpose was to provide education for young people who were blind or visually impaired. Today, in addition to supporting people who have a visual impairment, we offer education, support and guidance for students on the autism spectrum, those with moderate to severe learning difficulties, and students with physical and other disabilities.  We have a large, skilled and diverse staff team who can meet a diverse range of student needs.  As QAC has grown, we now have new educational and learning sites.  As well as the more well-known campus in Harborne, there is the QAC Pinewood campus (dedicated to employment progression) in nearby Woodgate valley and in addition, QAC Umberslade campus (dedicated to horticulture and outdoor learning), in nearby Selly Oak.  QAC offers a broad range of study programmes that are tailored to ensure each student receives the educational, therapeutic and support services that they require, helping them achieve their aspirations for adult life. 

Our supported living programmes (Independent Plus) and Community Services offers support after leaving college and to those from within the local community. The marketing and communications team is responsible for marketing QAC services with the main focus being on student recruitment. Following a recent re-brand, the post holder will also be integral in ensuring an efficient and effective roll out of the new branding.

QAC also has an enterprise arm consisting of Sight Village (a touring exhibition supporting those with sight loss), All Formats (a transcription service) and Carbon Fibre Canes.  These are all supported by the Marketing and Communications Team.

Your role will help to win progressive tax reforms, build political support and anchor our campaigning with sound policy analysis. You don’t need a background in tax policy if you can demonstrate an ability to learn and master complex policy briefs. You do need to be hungry for change and be able to convince people in positions of power that progressive tax reform is sensible and feasible. Your policy expertise, political nouse and parliamentary knowledge will help the team to deliver change.

TJ-UK has a track record of securing campaign wins. We have built strong relationships with parliamentarians, policy makers and a network of influential think tanks and organisations. We also have excellent relationships with many influential media outlets, regularly securing extensive media coverage on tax justice issues. 

We’re looking for a policy/political expert with a track record of achieving political change and a commitment to tax justice. You will be confident in shaping policy, have excellent knowledge of parliamentary procedure and be a strong team player.
