Global Health 50/50 (GH5050) is an independent, evidence-driven initiative to advance action and accountability for gender equality. GH5050 was formed around a unique model which brings together the rigour of academic research, the knowledge of how policy change can occur and the momentum of advocates and communicators to catalyse progress on gender equality. GH5050’s mission is ‘To improve health, well-being, and social justice through the promotion of human rights, particularly in relation to gender equality, by conducting research, disseminating the useful results of such research, and providing information, advice and advocacy.’ Established in 2017, GH5050 is a non-profit organisation (as a UK registered charity) headquartered in Cambridge, UK, that initially focussed on the health sector and is increasingly active in the justice and finance systems, globally and at country level. 

Context 

Through our flagship annual report and Gender and Health Index, GH5050 provides the only bird’s-eye view of gender, inclusion and equality in the global health sector today. The report assesses 200 organisations annually across a core set of variables on policies and practices to tackle power and privilege imbalances within the workplace, the gender and geography of organisational leadership, and whether gender is considered in any organisations' external-facing programmatic or policy work.

Based on an approach honed over seven years by Global Health 50/50, GH5050 is planning to produce rigorous data on the state of gender equality, including within career opportunities / structures, in the law/justice, and finance/economics sectors. In the law/justice sector we will review approximately 200 organisations at the global level, and then apply a similar approach and methodology at the country level (likely to be Kenya and one other country). Working with research and advocacy partners, supported by an advisory group, legal experts and a team of research consultants, GH5050 also plans to leverage the data to engage with the assessed organisations directly. The work undertaken by GH5050 in the law/justice sector is part of a wider advocacy coalition supported by the funder aiming to drive organisational change for a more diverse, inclusive and equitable global legal sector. 

The successful candidate for this post is expected to play an integral role in contributing to the growth of GH5050, as well as taking a leading role in developing, managing, growing and taking ownership for this new area of work.

Role Summary 

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of one of the world’s leading research and accountability initiatives for gender equality. You will join a small and growing team of staff working at GH5050, taking responsibility for the first (and subsequent) Gender, Law and Justice Report(s) (title TBA). The role will involve project design and management, conducting research and policy analysis, maintaining strong working relationships with partner organisations as well as with other GH5050 staff, dissemination, engagement and impact. These roles will be exercised at global and country levels. The post holder will share responsibility with the Head of Research & Impact for the management of research consultants working on the law and justice workstream.

Role Responsibilities 

• Project design and management: Project manage the full process of developing the GH5050 Gender, Law and Justice reports, policy briefs, case studies of organisational change, and a range of outputs tailored to meet the goals of the GH5050 Strategy. Oversee the production processes from research and analysis to drafting and production of GH5050 outputs, and the research team and consultants. Work closely with the finance officer on budgeting and financial reporting.

• Team recruitment, leadership/management and research coordination: Hire, onboard and train teams of data collectors and provide regular support and quality control. Oversee and support the research team, develop project plans, arrange regular project meetings, and ensure that project deliverables are met and produced in a rigorous and timely manner. 

• Internal communications: Take responsibility for maintaining regular and comprehensive internal communications within the charity, reporting on progress and flagging any risks or challenges to project timelines. 

• Consultant management and liaison: Identify and recruit consultants for specific tasks to produce GH5050 outputs. Supervise consultants’ work to ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs. Liaise with team consultants on various tasks during the report production process. 

• Conduct research, data validation and analysis: Undertake research and data collection for reports and other outputs, including literature research on organisational policies and practices, policy content analysis and workforce data extraction. Thoroughly review and validate research findings of data collection team. Ensure research methodologies are kept up to date and ensure the timely delivery of quality outputs, including on statistical analysis, writing, data validation, data visualization, graphic design and layout, and the production of dissemination and communications materials. 

• Database management: Manage, validate, clean and store large and complex datasets. 

• Stakeholder management: Be a trusted first point of contact for organisations who are reviewed as part of the GH5050 report. This includes preparing and distributing formal communications to CEOs and a designated focal point within each organisation, responding to queries, and managing the process of data validation with organisations.

• Partnership building and management: Be responsible for ensuring a productive and equitable relationship with research partners, advocacy partners, and advisory/expert groups. Prepare reports for Trustees and funders. 

• Report production: Prepare drafts of reports including in collaboration with professional writers when appropriate, to identify the key messages and key findings, data visualisations, background and other written contributions, such as forewords and quotes. Liaise with web designers, who will build data validation platforms and a new website to host the reports, and report design teams. 

• High-impact communication and dissemination: Work closely with the GH5050 and communications lead as well as an external communications partner to develop strategic communication and dissemination strategies for these research outputs. This includes preparing compelling key findings and messages from report research and developing a range of additional communications outputs for key stakeholders including presentations, policy briefs, op-eds and papers for peer-reviewed publications and ensuring the delivery of public events and launches.

Person specification  

• PhD level qualification preferred. If Masters level qualification then equivalent and demonstrable relevant professional level experience

• Experience conducting mixed methods research, including innovative methods of data collection, indicator development, database management, and qualitative and quantitative analysis and interpretation 

• Experience in research project management, ideally within an academic or policy environment 

• Experience in policy analysis and developing recommendations based on this analysis 

• Knowledge of the global law and justice landscape, and ideally a good understanding of the key issues relating to gender and equality of opportunity in the workplace, global development and organisational change

• Proven intellectual/research contributions to the field of law/justice 

• A network in the law/justice sector which extends beyond academic actors to practitioners and thought leaders 

• Knowledge of gender and its relationship to: (i) the law/justice sector; (ii) and/or the research/evidence methods in (e.g. policy analysis); (iii) and/or approaches to organisational change, would be an advantage. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, and experience producing clear, concise, engaging and evidence-led written outputs such as reports, policy briefs, academic papers and op-eds 

• Experience of effectively managing a team, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative professional relationships with a wide range of partners across diverse contexts, including whilst working remotely

• Experience working independently and effective decision making to manage competing priorities and ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard

• High level of proficiency in MS Excel and experience in using a wide range of software, including data visualisation packages

The Policy Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing our policy agenda to ensure people affected by dementia benefit from progress in research. By leveraging expertise in policy analysis, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement, the Policy Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic policy initiatives that influence government decisions, public health priorities and research funding.

The post-holder will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including policymakers, researchers, clinicians, and people with lived experience of dementia to help make the case for increased investment in dementia research, advocate for more accessible routes to diagnosing and treating dementia and prepare health systems to be ready for future dementia treatments.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Policy development

· Develop and manage programmes of work on key strategic policy areas that position ARUK as a key influencer both nationally and internationally.  This may include the commissioning of external evidence generation.

· Provide expertise on the relevant evidence, insight, and policy context to enable the development of new innovative policy ideas and solutions that deliver on our strategic priorities.

· Manage the development of substantial and credible policy outputs, including briefings, reports, submissions to government departments and their agencies, parliamentary committees, and other UK and international organisations as appropriate.

· Work with the communications team to ensure our policy work is disseminated to our key audiences via a range of appropriate channels to maximise our reach and impact.

· Develop and maintain mechanisms to keep abreast of the policy environment.

· Analyse, interpret and make judgements on complex project activities, delegating and managing the policy advisors to achieve set deliverables through their management of day-to-day activities. As Policy and Public Affairs works in a matrix structure this may include managing deliverables with policy advisors across the team.

· Support the join-up between projects and across the wider team to ensure shared knowledge and the opportunity to maximise influence and impact.

Stakeholder engagement and management

· Develop and manage stakeholder engagement of key policy contacts.

· Actively promote patient and public involvement in the development and delivery of projects.

· Work with Public Affairs colleagues to strengthen existing and emerging relationships with political and other parliamentary stakeholders to maximise the impact of our policy work.

· Attend external working groups and help develop partnerships beneficial to ARUK.

· Work with other charities to ensure ARUK is playing a leadership role in shaping government medical research policy.

Research and data analysis

· Oversee the analysis of necessary data and understanding, working with other ARUK colleagues, to produce accurate, timely and insightful policy materials, briefings and media stories.

The PA to the Archdeacon is a crucial and incredibly varied role at the Diocese, as you will provide support at a senior level to ensure the smooth running of the work of the Archdeacon’s Office in Maidstone.

Interview process 

This will be a two stage process, first interview will be a one way video interview; second stage will be an interview via MS Teams. 

This role will join a vibrant and ambitious fundraising team made up of; major giving, trusts and foundations, prospect research, individual giving, community, events, legacies, innovation and supporter experience. The team’s mission is to raise income for our three hospitals to enable them to continue their vital work. This role will make a huge difference in helping us do that. 

The post holder will manage our supporter panel, cultivating relationships with panel members. Working closely with the Supporter Experience and Journeys Manager this role will test new journeys, support implementation of new fundraising products and integrated campaigns, championing supporter needs and pain points, ensuring their valuable insights contribute to the enhancement of our supporter experiences and journey initiatives.
 

Key Responsibilities

Supporter Experience and journey best practices

• Identify and improve key pain points in existing supporter journeys; making recommendations for improvements that colleagues can implement and support them on how to measure and report back on those changes.  
• Support on measuring supporter satisfaction and testing outputs with supporters.
• Support fundraising colleagues to implement supporter journeys and stewardship programmes across the portfolio to maximise net income and retention of supporters.
• Lead the annual supporter experience and journeys audit, facilitating process discovery workshops to identify pain points and make recommendations on improvements to wider stakeholders and monitor the improvement progress. 
• Deliver process maps for all supporter journeys, ensuring they are monitored and kept up to date. 
• Review communications against supporter journey maps to ensure the supporters needs are met. 
• Help deliver the Supporter Experience and Journey strategy.
• Assist in piloting new stewardship journeys for supporters, ensuring that they feel valued and involved in the charity’s work.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, fundraising, communications, and program delivery, to ensure alignment and integration of supporter experience initiatives across the organization.

Data & Insight

• To work closely with our Supporter Experience and Journey Manager to gather insight with the data team to optimise current personas and identify new personas. 
• Manage a supporter feedback panel, recruiting new members and conducting user testing to assess the effectiveness of our journeys, experience, products, and integrated campaigns with them.
• Liaise with the fundraising, supporter care, digital and data teams to identify recurring supporter journey issues and make recommendations for improvements.
• Support on implementing our effectiveness evaluation approach to supporter experiences, journeys, and initiatives. Regularly reporting on key metrics and using findings to drive continuous improvement in collaboration with the digital and data team.
• Support on conducting research and analysis to gain insights into supporter behaviours, preferences, and pain points. Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making and enhance supporter journey initiatives.

Driving the adoption of supporter-first approach

• Develop and foster excellent working relationships to establish buy-in for a data-driven and supporter-first approach to fundraising across the charities and be prepared where necessary, with sound rationale, to recommend solutions that meet supporter needs, strategic objectives, and journey best practises.
• Help to drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for innovation and optimization within the supporter journey. Implement feedback loops and mechanisms for ongoing refinement of supporter experience strategies.
• When necessary, work with stakeholders to understand detailed operational processes and identify opportunities for a supporter-first approach to help fulfil their requirements. 
• Keep up to date with supporter-centric industry trends, techniques, and best practices related to supporter experience and supporter journeys and share learnings with stakeholders.

Work environment

• The post holder should expect to:
• Work in a hybrid hot desk environment, generally working 2 days a week in the London office and three from home. 
• Be responsible for the input and maintenance of databases and files relevant to the post requirements.
• Will occasionally be required to attend events in the evening and at weekends.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Experience of developing best in class user journeys and experiences in the commercial or non-for-profit sector.
• Experience leading complex cross channel journeys or communication plans from start to finish. 
• Experience of facilitating or supporting on user research activities including focus groups, surveys, and user testing.

About the role
As the Account Manager you will contribute to and effectively support our global programme partnerships work, to achieve Save the Children's strategic objectives.

The focus of the role will include extending Save the Children's relationships with development banks plus new initiatives such as impact investment and results-based project funding. You will support the Partnership Managers on a varied portfolio of cross-Save the Children partnerships as well as supporting with the management of cross Save the Children partnership management.

About the role 

As the Head of Research and Monitoring Unit (RMU), Scotland and Northern Ireland you will contribute to the strategic direction of Sustrans' evidencing work. You will provide strategic and operational leadership to RMU, working alongside the Director of Evidence and Insight and RMU’s Senior Leadership Team. 

RMU conducts evaluation and research to assure the delivery of Sustrans impact and influence policy, investment and practice in support of Sustrans’ vision.

You will drive a culture change in Sustrans where impact is central to the operation, and this is understood and acted upon at all levels; you will identify areas of the Sustrans Scotland delivery portfolio in which impact can be improved; and you will empower colleagues to think creatively, pragmatically and collaboratively about developing outputs that are useable, objective, efficient and timely. 

This senior leadership role is about shaping resourcing in response to changes in funding, evidencing and communicating the value of investment in active travel, and demonstrating the value added by Sustrans’ role.

Acting as the senior-level interface between the RMU, Sustrans Scotland and Transport Scotland, you will enable the generation of high-quality evidence, use this material to support service improvement in delivery by Sustrans in Scotland and partners, and engage Transport Scotland, providing justification of their investment and advocacy for future policy and investment decisions. 

This role also covers similar activity Northern Ireland, but due to the balance of investment the role is more heavily focused on Scotland than on Northern Ireland. The brief is similar for Northern Ireland, but the delivery and evidencing portfolios are much smaller, with a focus on developing more evidencing and evaluation operations in NI. 

We offer true hybrid working, a mix of home working and time within our new Hubs in Edinburgh or Glasgow, with flexible working patterns to suit individual circumstances. On occasion, there will be travel, and possible overnight stays required. 

About you   

An experienced senior leader, you will build relationships easily at all levels; adapting your communication skills to engage and influence people, as well as a proven record of successful working strategically with a diverse range of partners. These skills and experience are key, as you will be the primary point of connection between Sustrans’ evidencing work and senior stakeholders within Transport Scotland.

 You should have experience of resource management, including managing and implementing change initiatives. You should have demonstrable experience of delivery to deadlines and within budget, including scoping, designing and effective implementation of project work and you should have an awareness of key data sources on active and sustainable travel, allowing you to advise colleagues at a strategic level.

 It would be advantageous for you to have knowledge of the political and funding context for walking and cycling initiatives in Scotland and Northern Ireland, but it is not essential.

Delivery of communications to support the in-sourcing of our Fundraising function (against a stage 1 plan which has been created) including staff and partner communications, stakeholder management, and Fundraising supporter communications.  

Managing ongoing change communications activity in relation to the in-sourcing of our Fundraising function, including monitoring of feedback channels, developing communications materials, any further development of existing messaging, and supporting information cascade.  

Supporting the Foundation with wider internal change as this work develops, advising on and creating key messaging, communications assets such as FAQs, and use of relevant communications channels.
