Children and young people who are looked after don’t always have a trusted adult that they can rely upon for support, with many young people not having someone that they can talk to or trust.
Our independent visitor service provides looked after children and young people with an adult volunteer who spends time with them, offering support and friendship whilst being a positive role model to enable young people to build on their confidence and self-esteem, whilst helping learn new skills and raise their aspirations.
About the role
We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic IV Coordinator, who will be responsible for the day to day running of the independent visitor service.
You will be responsible for managing and developing a pool of volunteers which includes the recruitment, training, and induction of new volunteers to become volunteer independent visitors, before matching them with a young person who has been referred to the service.
You will provide continuous support to volunteers to ensure that the service is being delivered to a high standard, and that children and young people are safeguarded at all times.
You will also be responsible for monitoring volunteer visits, budgets and ensuring that risk assessments are undertaken as required, whilst acting as a link between NYAS and the local authority by liaising with social workers, carers and other professionals.

About the role:
Your role as a Service Delivery Assistant (SDA) will be to provide an administrative function to the Humberside staff team.
The SDA role is a crucial one, to ensure the efficient running of the service and support the frontline staff to provide an effective service.
As an SDA you will;
- provide an administrative function to include administration of cases and referrals including updating case management systems and communicating with referral agencies to gain further information

The Community Builder role focuses on making connections within the community and facilitating local community groups to develop activities and events. About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a new initiative, providing generalist advice to service users of Mind in Camden. This new project will develop to meet the needs of service users and so you will need to be flexible in your approach.
You will be an experienced Generalist Adviser able to work in partnership with staff at Mind in Camden to support their service users. Clients will either self-refer or be referred from the core team at Mind in Camden.
Advice will be delivered both face-to-face and remotely according to individual needs. Face-to-face advice will be delivered at Mind in Camden offices and those of Citizens Advice Camden. This role is not suitable for remote working only.
You will need to be experienced in delivering generalist advice on issues such as welfare benefits including Universal Credit, housing, money advice and cost of living issues. You will also be available to support Mind in Camden staff in identifying suitable referral routes to support their service users so that overall needs are met. Purpose of project
The work should build on the previous State of The Sector report which was produced in 2020 and can be found here. This will be used to inform decision-making and new ways of working between the public sector and the VCFSE (voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise) sector.
Background
In 2020, there were over 2,700 charities registered with the Charity Commission as active in Somerset. While the majority are based within the county with a local remit, many others have a broader sphere of activity spreading beyond the county’s boundary. There are also hundreds of additional formal and informal or unregistered voluntary groups across the county.
Together, these make up the local VCFSE sector, performing an essential role in strengthening their communities and enriching individual lives. It is vitally important for the well-being of Somerset’s communities and residents, that the ‘health’ of the sector is monitored and understood. Throughout the Covid pandemic, and the cost of living crisis, these groups provided a lifeline of support and services to individuals within their communities, and they continue to do so. However, these organisations have been hard hit in recent times due to increasing demand and challenges around sustainability and capacity. It is more important than ever to understand the state of the sector and what it needs to grow, develop and thrive in Somerset.
Scope of work
Spark Somerset is committed to innovative and creative approaches to support our communities. We invite interested researchers to design and deliver a mixed-methods approach to the research which will likely include:
- Scoping: conduct an in-depth review of national and regional research; evaluate findings; compare, contrast & report on findings
- Survey: design, develop and administer an online survey which gathers evidence from a range of organisations across the sector (e.g. size, type, purpose); analyse, collate and report findings
- Interviews: recruit and conduct telephone/video/in-person interviews with a cross-representative sample of stakeholders
- Focus groups: recruit and conduct focus groups with a cross-representative sample of stakeholders
Deliverables
The researcher will be expected to:
- Produce a comprehensive report detailing results of the research, including recommendations (see the previous State of The Sector report, published in 2020)
- Produce an executive summary of the report along with an illustrative infographic

The role of Global Advocacy Monitoring Adviser can be full time (35 hours, Monday – Friday) or part time (ideally 28+ hours, flexible.) with some flexibility around hours worked.
Responsibilities
About the role
We are looking for an experienced monitoring, evaluation, analysis, and learning professional with strong understanding and experience of advocacy within an NGO/INGO. You will play a key role in ensuring advocacy in Sightsavers is monitored effectively, and input on Sightsavers strategic data analysis. Building on Sightsavers existing advocacy data systems, you will ensure effective data collection, visualisation and analysis; ability to develop dashboards using PowerBI would be of particular interest, although this is not essential.
Key duties will include:
- Delivering systems for collecting, managing, and analysing information about national advocacy
- Lead on the coordination of Sightsavers’ Voluntary Stakeholder Review of SDG implementation
- Strengthening systems for sharing lessons about what works and identify challenges that are faced by multiple countries
- Engaging in internal Policy and Global Advocacy and organisational processes
The post holder may be expected to travel internationally once or twice within the 9-month contract.

Skills and Experience
Knowledge, Skills and Related Experience:
Essential
- Degree or higher in a Social Science, or equivalent working experience
- Experience of supporting national advocacy within a global advocacy strategy within INGO/NGOs
- Significant experience of monitoring, evaluation, and learning within an INGO context
- Experience working with data management information systems and applying data analysis/statistical techniques to data
- Knowledge of current issues and best practice in development particularly in advocacy monitoring and evaluation
- Ability to influence organisational strategy and promote change internally
- Ability to develop and implement effective advocacy plans and MEL systems
- Effective communication and relationship building skills with internal and external audiences
Desirable
- Experience of advocacy is essential for this role. Advocacy within human rights, and/or advocacy at an international level, would be desirable, although not essential.
- Ability to develop and manage data visualisation, notably creating Dashboards in PowerBI
- Expertise in building staff capacities to develop and deliver effective advocacy monitoring strategies
- Experience of working effectively as part of an international team

You will responsible for offering a range of face to face and telephone mental health advice and information to people living in the city, including carers and family members who have contacted us with a mental health concern. The service also delivers awareness raising wellbeing workshops and community outreach as part of its delivery.
The role involves supporting people to identify strategies for looking after their own mental health wellbeing along with providing self-help information and resources.
You will require excellent communication skills, a track record of undertaking advice work and experience of successfully engaging and working with people with lived mental health experience. A commitment and understanding of the recovery model is essential.
