About us
Who we are
Fair for You is a Community Interest Company (CIC) wholly owned by the Fair Credit Charity. Our aim is to influence the financial, legislative and regulatory landscape to help create an ethical and responsible lending environment where financially excluded people are better served.
Since 2015, we have provided £100m in loans to over 100,000 customers across the UK, generating an estimated £1bn in social value.
Our mission is simple: to change lives through better lending.
Our culture and values
Unsurprisingly, being called ‘Fair for You’, we really care about fairness. We believe that people who are less well-off or whose financial circumstances are more difficult than most should not have to pay more for credit. By providing the services we do, the people who work at Fair for You are trying to help reverse the prejudices of our existing financial system. There are some core beliefs that we share which guide us in our work.
Mission
In order to achieve our vision to change lives through better lending, we have a mission statement – this summarises the main things we do to “change lives” - we believe our mission is “to make credit accessible to those who need it most: harnessing our deep understanding of people and their circumstances to lend responsibly and provide finance, goods and services.”
Our Values
We are guided by openness, fairness, trust, integrity, and partnership. We celebrate diversity and are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of those excluded from mainstream financial services.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
We are an equal opportunities employer.
We are committed to equality of opportunity and to providing a service and following practices which are free from unfair and unlawful discrimination. We aim to ensure that no applicant or member of staff receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation, or is disadvantaged by conditions or requirements which cannot be shown to be relevant to performance. It seeks also to ensure that no person is victimised or subjected to any form of bullying or harassment.
We value people as individuals with diverse opinions, cultures, lifestyles and circumstances.
All employees, workers or self-employed contractors whether part time, full time or temporary, will be treated fairly and with respect. Selection for employment, promotion, training, or any other benefit will be on the basis of aptitude and ability. All employees will be helped and encouraged to develop their full potential and the talents and resources of the workforce will be fully utilised to maximise the efficiency of the Company.
