About us
Who we are
FWAG SouthWest is a registered charity representing the region’s farmers and landowners in the delivery of wildlife conservation.
Since 1969, FWAG’s mission has been to promote the conservation of wildlife and the wider environment as part of profitable farming businesses. Our vision is a thriving environment for both farming and wildlife.
Our team of over 50 advisers and project officers can provide independent advice on a wide range of services to inspire and enable you to develop and deliver a vision for farming and wildlife on your farm. Our strength is in our diversity: our team of experts include BASIS and FACTS qualified advisers, accredited ecologists and arboriculturists with backgrounds in farming, conservation and academia.
Our culture and values
We inspire and enable action by taking a whole farm approach: we consider all aspects of a business to find the best opportunities to balance the needs of a profitable farm and the requirements for a diverse wildlife.
Through providing advice, support and facilitation to individual businesses, groups and communities, we help to access funding to deliver a shared vision of a prosperous and flourishing rural environment.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Our Aim
We believe that our workforce should be truly representative of all sections of society and that each employee must feel respected and able to give their best.
Our Commitment
We will strive to encourage equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace by creating a working environment free of bullying, harassment, victimisation and unlawful discrimination, promoting dignity and respect for all, and where individual differences of all staff, clients and the public are recognised and valued.
