About us
Who we are
Skelmersdale & District foodbank provide three days' worth of nutritionally balanced emergency food, along with practical and emotional support, to people who are referred to us in crisis.
Founded by local churches and community groups, our foodbank works to support individuals and families across West Lancashire. We currently operate three foodbank centres in Skelmersdale and one in Burscough, helping thousands of people each year who find themselves facing difficult circumstances.
Whether you need a food parcel, a listening ear, or guidance on accessing additional support, there is a foodbank open five days a week to help. We also have a dedicated team available most days to provide advice on debt, benefits, and other issues that may be contributing to financial hardship.
Our foodbank is part of the Trussell network, a nationwide community of more than 400 foodbanks working together to tackle poverty and hunger across the UK. Alongside providing emergency food, the Trussell network is committed to helping people move out of crisis and reducing the need for foodbanks in the future through initiatives such as More Than Food.
