About us

Who we are

Tech Club is an online learning community that helps older adults use technology with greater confidence.

Our sessions are practical, friendly and designed for people who may feel overwhelmed, frustrated or excluded by the rapid pace of technological change. We explain technology in clear, accessible language and focus on the things people genuinely want and need to do in everyday life.

Our members learn about topics such as smartphones, messaging, online safety, video calling, digital services, useful apps and emerging tools such as artificial intelligence.

We are now expanding our work through partnerships with charities, care providers, housing associations, local authorities and community organisations across the UK.

Our culture and values

Empathy

We understand that technology can feel intimidating. We listen carefully, avoid judgement and meet people where they are.

Clarity

We make complicated technology simple, practical and useful. We communicate in plain language and focus on real-life outcomes.

Patience

Confidence takes time. We create a supportive environment in which people feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.

Human connection

Technology should help people feel more connected, not more isolated. Relationships and community are central to everything we do.

Initiative

We are a small, ambitious organisation. We value people who take ownership, solve problems and turn ideas into action.

Impact

We want our work to make a measurable difference to the confidence, independence and wellbeing of older adults.

Equality, diversity and inclusion policy

Tech Club is committed to creating an inclusive environment for our members, partners and team.

We welcome people of all ages, backgrounds, identities and experiences. We aim to ensure that our recruitment and working practices are fair, respectful and free from discrimination.

We do not discriminate on the basis of age, disability, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion or belief, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital or family status, pregnancy or maternity, socioeconomic background, or any other protected characteristic.

We recognise that people may face different barriers to participation, particularly in relation to age, disability, confidence and access to technology. We aim to design our services and communications to be accessible, patient and inclusive.

Recruitment decisions are based on relevant experience, skills, values and the ability to contribute to our mission.
