About the role

This position involves leading and contributing to identified nutrition focused cancer and nutrition projects within Macmillan engaging with internal and external stakeholders.  There will be a particular focus on the following areas: 

• Review and development of Macmillan nutrition resources from an equality, diversity and inclusion perspective, working on focused pieces of work with communities to co-produce nutrition information through focus groups/attending relevant community events and discussing the importance of nutrition. 
• Leading a nutrition focused partnership project(s) in identified areas with poorer quality health outcomes.
• Development of scoping work to understand the opportunities for creating a single point of access for nutrition and cancer resources. 

About you
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• track record of management and clinical leadership
• ability to bring insight, ideas, experience and thought leadership to the role to inform nutrition information for different groups and communities
• strong interest in community engagement and empowering people with cancer along with supporting those with poorer outcomes
• good working knowledge of the current healthcare and social care system and current issues involved in supporting and engaging communities as well as contemporary knowledge of nutrition and dietetics.

About the role
Are you a registered Health Care Professional with an interest in the early diagnosis of cancer looking for a new challenge and interested in working in the charitable sector? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join Macmillan’s Centre of Clinical Expertise. 

During this two day a week six month role you will be leading on agreed pieces of work focused on the earlier diagnosis of cancer. The specific details of projects are to be confirmed but potential current projects include:

• Investigating ways to address the inequalities in the early diagnosis of bowel cancer 
• Supporting Primary Care Teams to address the inequalities faced by under-represented populations in the earlier diagnosis of cancer 
• The impact of co-morbidities on the earlier diagnosis of cancer, in particular in under-served populations.

You will bring insight, ideas, experience and thought leadership to the role to inform issues impacting on the earlier diagnosis of cancer with a focus on the impact of Health Inequalities. 

About you
We are looking for a motivated and driven individual with evidence of management and clinical leadership experience and a strong interest in the earlier diagnosis of cancer, in particular for those with poorer outcomes. You will need to have good working knowledge of the current healthcare system and be a clinician with strong understanding of the issues impacting cancer diagnosis.

Blue Marine Foundation is seeking a Programme Manager who will be responsible for the development and delivery of the Convex Seascape Survey and lead relations with the project’s funder. This role may suit someone from a corporate or account management background, preferably local to London or the southeast and willing to travel internationally as needed. This is an incredible chance to work on pioneering global science project and to join a highly impactful charity at the cutting edge of marine conservation.

The Convex Seascape Survey is two years into a five-year, multi-million-pound pioneering research project working to quantify and understand blue carbon stored in the coastal ocean floor and its potential to help mitigate climate change. Convex Seascape Survey is a partnership between Blue Marine Foundation, Convex Insurance Limited and the University of Exeter, delivered in partnership with a consortium of over sixteen other organisations.

Project management

· Lead the project management process, matched to the project grant agreement, including oversight of project finance and all deliverables.

· Coordination of project partners to ensure activities and deliverables are achieved in keeping with quarterly milestones.

· Relationship management with project partners, serving as a main point of contact and ensuring their ongoing satisfaction with the project’s progress and outcomes.

· Responsible for organising and feeding into Steering Committee meetings, as well as contributing as required to Advisory Group meetings.

· Managing supplier relationships, overseeing contracts and work package delivery. 

· Representing the project at relevant conferences and forums or visiting fieldwork sites. International travel will be required at times.

Reporting

· Report progress into the steering committee on a quarterly basis, flagging areas of concern and actioning steering committee advice.

· Develop quarterly reports and updates for the funder against deliverables.

· Create annual reports for public viewing, promoting the success and progress of the survey, with support from the communications team.

· Creation of visual presentations for advisory and steering committee updates. 

Finance

· Overseeing budget spending data for the project with support from Blue Marine’s finance team, and co-ordinate invoicing and budget reporting for the partners.

· Liaising closely with Blue Marine’s finance team to ensure efficient deployment and tracking of project funds. 

· Coordinating finance reports for the funder and partners. 

Communications

· Present the Project at public conferences and various stakeholder events

· Supporting the communications lead in delivery of project outreach through press, digital and social media

· Contribute interviews or quotes for press on project developments.

· Assisting the development and delivery of a bespoke, project-linked education programme

The successful applicant will be highly organised, with a rigorous approach to project management. Desired experience includes:

· Successful delivery of multi-million pound, multi-year research programmes or other projects

· Track record of high-impact project management, accurate reporting and successful project delivery

· Competent and confident public-speaker with the ability to communicate complex subjects to a range of audiences which could include corporate, political and public audiences

· High level of numeracy with the ability to track multiple budgets over time 

· Excellent communicator with a diplomatic approach to management

· Skilled at reporting, with the ability to condense complex information quickly

· Aptitude and ability to work under pressure

· Basic scientific understanding may be valuable, but is not a prerequisite

The team

Business Energy Scotland is funded by the Scottish Government to provide free, impartial support and access to funding to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) save energy, carbon and money. As Scottish businesses try to overcome the twin challenges of high energy prices and playing their part in reducing carbon emissions, our work is more important than ever.

Are you a Qualified Accountant looking to use your skills and accounting knowledge to help address the biggest health issue in the UK today?  

We are looking for a Financial Accountant, to join our busy Finance team on a 12 month fixed term contract as progress our finance transformation journey, including the implementation of a new ERP finance system, Unit 4 (Agresso).

In this role, you will help manage the preparation of the Annual Report and Accounts and statutory returns, quarterly VAT returns, and oversight of monthly accounting processes ensuring that accurate accounts are produced on a timely basis.
You will be responsible for ensuring:

- Thorough testing of finance related end to end processes on Unit 4 ensuring that any issues are captured and resolved as appropriate.
- Successful finance data cleanse activities to ensure that data migrated to Unit 4 is fit for purpose
- Opening financial data migrated to Unit 4 reconciled clearly back to the legacy systems on a detailed and timely basis to ensure strong financial control and a successful audit
- Take lead on understanding and implementing any changes to approach necessary for month end close, journal processing and balance sheet reconciliations
- Successful and timely transfer of knowledge to the remaining members of the finance team

This is a homeworking role, but you will be required to travel to attend some meetings and team-days, so you must reside in the UK, have the correct right to work documents to work in the UK and be comfortable/willing to travel to our flagship offices.
 
About you

- Qualified Accountant (ideally ACA)
- Experience and knowledge of Unit4 ERPx or equivalent cloud-based system
- Experience of working within the charity sector is preferred but not essential
- Ideally focussed all or part of your career on being a Financial Accountant and you are likely to have worked in an organisation of similar size, scale, and complexity.

Dogs Trust are going through a period of growth, with recruitment for two Senior New Partnerships Managers due to the existing Lead getting an internal promotion. There are continuing plans to drive new business through long-term strategic partnerships.

The Senior New Partnerships Manager will play an active role in winning new partnerships to support international and UK-based work. Alongside the Deputy Head of Partnerships, you will work closely with the prospect research and special events team, and line manage a New Partnerships Manager.

You will be responsible for proactively identifying and cultivating high value prospects within target corporate sectors, to win significant high value multi-year partnerships that support Dogs Trust’s work.

This role will look for high value opportunities across multiple fundraising mechanisms including, but not limited to, corporate donations, cause-related marketing, consultancy services, gift in kind and pro bono cost saving, employee engagement and volunteering, charity of the year and sponsorship.

About the role

• Identify and cultivate new corporate partnerships supporting a new business team target of £950k.

This is an exciting new position within Plantlife’s successful and ambitious Partnerships Team. It will play a crucial role in developing and implementing strategies to engage a diverse range of existing and new supporters to secure high value gifts for Plantlife's vital conservation work.

The Senior Partnerships Manager will communicate confidently and clearly about the value of mutually beneficial collaborations to achieve common goals. This role will need to work cross team, innovate to wow donors, craft supporter journeys, and create long term commitments to deliver core income towards Plantlife’s mission to create a world rich in plants and fungi.

We are a small and agile campaigning organisation on a mission to rescue Britons rivers from a toxic cocktail of agricultural, sewage and industrial pollution. We support community action, galvanise and mobilise public opinion, influence government policy, and call out destructive industrial practices to incentivise changes that end pollution. 

We are building a talented team of positive disrupters and community mobilisers to deliver our strategy to urgently protect and restore our rivers for the benefit of community and wildlife.

Britain’s rivers are our life support system and they are dying. We need urgent action to bring them back to life.

What you’ll be doing:

The Campaigns Coordinator will help to deliver highly engaging public and political campaigns and activations. You’ll work closely with the Head of Campaigns and the wider team to develop and deliver positively disruptive campaign strategies designed to meet the organisation’s overarching goal of rescuing our rivers. You’ll be investigating the causes of river pollution at a catchment level, delving deep into supply chains to uncover those behind the damaging practices that are killing our rivers and identifying constructive solutions at a catchment and national scale. You’ll be working collaboratively with the River Action team to devise, develop and deliver creative campaigns and tactics, designed to have the greatest impact on the most threatened rivers and communities by engaging the voting and consuming public and holding polluters and government to account. You’ll be supporting the Head of Campaigns and our external consultants to deliver our political advocacy and legal action strategy to bring about change at the highest level of decision making. You will bring energy and innovation for scaling our reach and impact, blending a touch of the maverick with a professional and diplomatic approach to bringing about change urgently.

Main Duties 

• Contribute to the delivery of River Action’s campaign strategies.

• Plan, deliver and coordinate data-driven campaigns for community, media and political audiences.

• Generate highly engaging written and graphic content for our campaigns, adjusting the tone and messaging to different audiences and campaign needs.

• Utilise research showing the causes and sources of river pollution at a catchment level within the policy and regulatory context and assess evidence (including scientific data and reports) to develop impactful campaigns.

• Work with our outside legal counsel to explore legal routes to tackling river pollution such as bringing judicial reviews targeting Government and private actions targeting industry.

• Utilise River Action’s project assessment and management systems and processes to ensure the efficient coordination of campaigns. 

• Investigate and report pollution supply chains at a catchment level for example the relationship between farming, producing, transporting and retailing food and the associated pollution.

• Plan, deliver and coordinate creative campaigns including petitions, public meetings, protests, stunts and campaign collateral such as video and other content. 

• Develop key campaign tools and assets such as props, promotional assets, toolkits and digital campaign tools.

• Draft engaging written content for different audiences to raise awareness of the problems rivers and communities face and offer hope and solutions.

• Contribute data and research outputs for the creation of press releases, MP briefings, policy documents and public communications.

• Represent River Action at campaign events and media opportunities, providing well-informed, professional and motivating contributions. 

• Coordinate contractors and suppliers that are engaged to support our campaigns and activations.

• Contribute data and content for our impact monitoring and evaluation systems.

• Produce internal monthly campaign reports and provide content and data for external communications. 

• Maintain and develop partnerships with other key groups and stakeholders working in similar areas of work to River Action.

• Identify opportunities to engage, empower and expand River Actions network of supporters. 

• Support the Communications Coordinator to create inspiring and high quality digital and social media content and news stories, including taking photographs and videos, writing articles/blogs, providing comments and conducting interviews.

• Support the Head of Campaigns, Communications Coordinator and Senior Media Coordinator in responding to the reactive news agenda.

• Help ensure all team members are well-briefed and on brand ahead of external engagement.

• Contribute to fundraising efforts particularly crowd funding and drafting of funding proposals to support Campaigns and Fundraising Teams and charity’s mission.

• Work as a motivated and collaborative team player within a fast-paced team.

• Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the post as requested by your line manager or any other member of the River Action team.

Written submission

River Action has just released data about the state of the British dairy industry in the national press. Please provide a one page campaign plan for how you would use that data and initial story to target the responsible polluters and government regulators, mobilise the public and campaign for urgent changes in industry practices and regulation. Consider how you would generate media headlines about the pollution problems and potential solutions while raising the profile of River Action, promoting positive opportunities that put farmers in a positive light and offering support to help them change their practices while targeting the root causes of the systemic problem caused by lack of regulation, lack of incentive and pressures from supply chains such as supermarkets. This should include your idea, target audience, how you would measure success, and a high level project plan. You do not have to include costs but your proposal should be appropriate for an overall budget of £20,000. Should you be successful in being invited to interview, you may be asked to present this idea.
