The role

The research communications and engagement team at Breast Cancer Now makes breast cancer research accessible and engaging to everyone. Its aim is to highlight the value and impact of research and build continued trust and support for the charity.

You'll use your science communication expertise to bring our research to life. You’ll create content covering Breast Cancer Now’s research aims, progress, and achievements for a variety of channels including our social media, website, fundraising and print publications. You’ll work with members of the brand, marketing and communications teams, and digital teams to make sure research content is engaging and drives brand awareness and support. 

About you

To succeed in this role, you’ll understand the impact of research and scientific communication for charitable organisations. You’ll be able to translate complex scientific information and tailor it to a variety of audiences. And you’ll use your excellent writing and verbal communication skills to interpret and present scientific and statistical information in creative and meaningful ways.

Primary location of role and hybrid working

This role is primarily based in our Cardiff/Glasgow/London/Sheffield office. However, our hybrid working model allows full-time staff members to work up to 3 days per week at home.

About the role

This position involves leading and contributing to identified nutrition focused cancer and nutrition projects within Macmillan engaging with internal and external stakeholders.  There will be a particular focus on the following areas: 

• Review and development of Macmillan nutrition resources from an equality, diversity and inclusion perspective, working on focused pieces of work with communities to co-produce nutrition information through focus groups/attending relevant community events and discussing the importance of nutrition. 
• Leading a nutrition focused partnership project(s) in identified areas with poorer quality health outcomes.
• Development of scoping work to understand the opportunities for creating a single point of access for nutrition and cancer resources. 

About you
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• track record of management and clinical leadership
• ability to bring insight, ideas, experience and thought leadership to the role to inform nutrition information for different groups and communities
• strong interest in community engagement and empowering people with cancer along with supporting those with poorer outcomes

About the role
Are you a registered Health Care Professional with an interest in the early diagnosis of cancer looking for a new challenge and interested in working in the charitable sector? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join Macmillan’s Centre of Clinical Expertise. 

During this two day a week six month role you will be leading on agreed pieces of work focused on the earlier diagnosis of cancer. The specific details of projects are to be confirmed but potential current projects include:

• Investigating ways to address the inequalities in the early diagnosis of bowel cancer 
• Supporting Primary Care Teams to address the inequalities faced by under-represented populations in the earlier diagnosis of cancer 
• The impact of co-morbidities on the earlier diagnosis of cancer, in particular in under-served populations.

You will bring insight, ideas, experience and thought leadership to the role to inform issues impacting on the earlier diagnosis of cancer with a focus on the impact of Health Inequalities. 

About you
We are looking for a motivated and driven individual with evidence of management and clinical leadership experience and a strong interest in the earlier diagnosis of cancer, in particular for those with poorer outcomes. You will need to have good working knowledge of the current healthcare system and be a clinician with strong understanding of the issues impacting cancer diagnosis.

This role will deliver Kidney Care UK’s Patient Support and Advocacy service in the Preston region. The Role

Working alongside the existing Community Fundraiser in London, this role will engage with the Dioceses in Westminster, Brentford & East Anglia to establish and strengthen links to individual bishops and diocesan communications staff. Attend parishes to deliver weekend fundraising appeals as well as giving talks and presentations to parish groups. Developing strong links for ACN with educational and pastoral networks in Schools, Colleges and Universities in order to build relationships and support them in delivering the ACN Schools Programme and expanding the take up of the programme, increasing school engagement and delivering assemblies in person and virtually.

This post reports to the Head of Community Outreach in support of objectives set out in ACN UK's overall 10-year plan. Responsibilities:

About You

Blue Marine Foundation is seeking a Programme Manager who will be responsible for the development and delivery of the Convex Seascape Survey and lead relations with the project’s funder. This role may suit someone from a corporate or account management background, preferably local to London or the southeast and willing to travel internationally as needed. This is an incredible chance to work on pioneering global science project and to join a highly impactful charity at the cutting edge of marine conservation.

The Convex Seascape Survey is two years into a five-year, multi-million-pound pioneering research project working to quantify and understand blue carbon stored in the coastal ocean floor and its potential to help mitigate climate change. Convex Seascape Survey is a partnership between Blue Marine Foundation, Convex Insurance Limited and the University of Exeter, delivered in partnership with a consortium of over sixteen other organisations.

Project management

· Lead the project management process, matched to the project grant agreement, including oversight of project finance and all deliverables.

· Coordination of project partners to ensure activities and deliverables are achieved in keeping with quarterly milestones.

· Relationship management with project partners, serving as a main point of contact and ensuring their ongoing satisfaction with the project’s progress and outcomes.

· Responsible for organising and feeding into Steering Committee meetings, as well as contributing as required to Advisory Group meetings.

· Managing supplier relationships, overseeing contracts and work package delivery. 

· Representing the project at relevant conferences and forums or visiting fieldwork sites. International travel will be required at times.

Reporting

· Report progress into the steering committee on a quarterly basis, flagging areas of concern and actioning steering committee advice.

· Develop quarterly reports and updates for the funder against deliverables.

· Create annual reports for public viewing, promoting the success and progress of the survey, with support from the communications team.

· Creation of visual presentations for advisory and steering committee updates. 

Finance

· Overseeing budget spending data for the project with support from Blue Marine’s finance team, and co-ordinate invoicing and budget reporting for the partners.

· Liaising closely with Blue Marine’s finance team to ensure efficient deployment and tracking of project funds. 

· Coordinating finance reports for the funder and partners. 

Communications

· Present the Project at public conferences and various stakeholder events

· Supporting the communications lead in delivery of project outreach through press, digital and social media

· Contribute interviews or quotes for press on project developments.

· Assisting the development and delivery of a bespoke, project-linked education programme

The successful applicant will be highly organised, with a rigorous approach to project management. Desired experience includes:

· Successful delivery of multi-million pound, multi-year research programmes or other projects

· Track record of high-impact project management, accurate reporting and successful project delivery

· Competent and confident public-speaker with the ability to communicate complex subjects to a range of audiences which could include corporate, political and public audiences

· High level of numeracy with the ability to track multiple budgets over time 

· Excellent communicator with a diplomatic approach to management

· Skilled at reporting, with the ability to condense complex information quickly

· Aptitude and ability to work under pressure

· Basic scientific understanding may be valuable, but is not a prerequisite

We are working with an inspiring international medical charity to find their next Institutional Trusts and Fundraising Manager.

The salary for this position is £28,723 (FTE £35,904) - Manager Level, part time (28 hours - 4 days per week).

The charity have fully embraced flexible working and the role can be either fully remote, hybrid or fully based at their office in Colchester.

It is an exciting time to joining them as they have just completed developing their new multi-year global strategy to take them through to 2030, and to guide their work into the future. They are using their Centenary year in 2024 as a springboard to launch them into the new strategic period. 2024 is very much a year for looking and planning ahead!

The Role

You will provide strategic oversight and direction for the institutional fundraising function to deliver on the restricted and unrestricted income targets and line managing and leading the Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser in the delivery of the trust fundraising target.

Provide the prime bid writing function for institutional funders and Trusts and Foundations.

Work closely with the programmes team, both in the UK and overseas to provide leadership of high-quality bid production.

Research new possible funding opportunities and develop a strong pipeline of potential opportunties.

Manage relationships with key funders and be the lead contact for trust and institutional funders.

Keep up to date with the latest trends in institutional, statutory and trust fundraising.

The Candidate
A natural relationship based fundraiser able to build strong working relationships with inteternal and external stakeholders.

Strong experience of working in statutory and/or trusts fundraising, including successfully applying for grants in excess of £50,000+

Substantial experience interpreting and translating material into compelling content for successful proposals.

Demonstrable strong project and account management abilities.

Confident in the development of budgets to meet proposal requirements.

Strong problem solving ability and confidence to bring in new ideas and drive them forward

Experience of writing and communicating for different mediums and channels and applying writing and branding requirements to reports and documents.

About the role

As a Project Officer, you will organise and deliver engagement activities with local community groups, community leaders, businesses, schools and volunteers on our community led infrastructure and National Cycle Network projects.

A well-established Housing Association in London is looking to take on a Treasury and Management Accountant (focus on the Treasury) for the next 3 months at first.

This organisation enables tenants and communities to thrive whilst also providing great support to their employees. Responsibilities:

• Manage treasury facilities, including cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and working capital optimisation for the group.
• Liaise with bankers and investors, maintain positive relationships, ensure accurate reporting to stakeholders, and identify potential treasury risks.
• Produce monthly and long-term cash flow forecasts, alongside conducting sensitivity analysis on group liquidity.
• Oversee arrangements with valuers for various valuations
• Ensure the property security register is up-to-date, advising on cost implications of property regeneration, preparing quarterly reports for the security trustee and Business Partners, and coordinating with legal teams for adding or releasing properties from the security portfolio.

The post-holder will work collaboratively with a partnering approach, to enable directorates across the organisation to deliver their volunteering priorities and plans as well as drive forward the volunteering agenda across the organisation. 

The Volunteering Partner will work alongside the rest of the Volunteering Development Team on delivering volunteering projects that lead us to achieving our volunteering strategy and support the implementation of these across the business.
