What does this role do?
As a Supporter Stewardship Agent, you will:
- have meaningful conversations with our supporters—taking donations, answering questions, sharing your love of dogs, and resolving queries.
- set up, amend, and maintain supporter records using our database (Salesforce).
- liaise with other teams and departments to ensure supporter queries are resolved efficiently
- support our Gift Processing team with donation handling and administration during peak periods.
Could this be you?
To be successful in this role, you’ll be a confident communicator with an excellent telephone manner and the ability to build rapport with supporters. A team player with strong problem-solving skills, you’ll also have a keen eye for detail and good numeracy skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential, as well as experience with databases (although not essential, Salesforce knowledge is desirable).

Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and implement ongoing strategies for Humane World for Animals’ growth in private philanthropy amongst wealth advisors, individuals and DAF managers in the UK, ensuring a strong ROI and including setting appropriate KPIs to monitor progress and measure success.
- Align the UK DAF strategy with the broader high net worth engagement strategy , collaborating with colleagues to maximise impact.
- Build Humane World for Animals’ UK DAF portfolio: identify, cultivate, solicit and deliver significant relationships and partnerships with wealth advisors and DAF managers.
- Conduct outreach to wealth advisors outside the Humane World for Animals network who may not yet be familiar with our work and raising our profile with this specific audience, including via networking and events opportunities.
- Formulate and implement individual strategies for developing key DAF partnerships and initiatives around programmatic priorities, mobilising necessary internal and external resources to ensure all partnerships are effectively executed and partners’ needs are fully met. Includes proposal development work.
- Act as an internal expert on the DAF landscape within the UK, bringing this to bear when developing proposals and ideas with programmatic staff.
- Contribute to internal collaboration on breakthrough solutions that can deliver social impact at scale for complex philanthropic relationships which span a variety of mechanisms of giving.
- Partner across revenue streams (including corporate partnerships, foundations, and major gifts) to maximise and leverage fundraising opportunities.
- Lead on our high net worth income from individuals; identify, cultivate, solicit and deliver significant relationships.
- Develop working relationships with program staff in order to identify funding opportunities and access program information that can be used to cultivate and steward wealth advisors.
- Stay abreast of key issues and trends in the international aid and wealth advisor community.
- Use our CRM (ROI Solutions) to track all DAF activity and revenue and activity projection in line with our data protection and privacy policies.
- Effectively represent Humane World for Animals to external audiences for both fundraising and profile elevation.
- Identify opportunities to represent Humane World for Animals on panels and events of interest to wealth advisors, including strategising around Humane World for Animals specific-events to engage wealth advisors.
- Strategic engagement with senior stakeholders to support donor engagement.
A successful candidate would have strong communication skills—both written and verbal—will be key, along with the ability to connect authentically with a wide range of people. MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
The sanctuary offers a home-from-home environment for all our residents. Under direction you will be required to always provide and maintain a high standard of care and quality of life for all sanctuary residents in a safe and happy environment. To offer love, comfort, stimulation, compassion, stability and security to all residents including the wildlife, ensuring their environment is the perfect sanctuary.
Under direction, you will be responsible for the welfare and happiness of each resident, ensuring the physical and emotional wellbeing of all residents in your charge, through constant interaction, whilst still maintaining consistently high standards of hygiene for each resident and throughout the sanctuary with daily cleaning duties.
There are many physical elements including cleaning, grooming, lifting residents, bending and working outdoors, so the capability to carry out all such tasks is essential.
A love of animals together with the commitment and dedication needed to enrich their time at the sanctuary, during their latter years of life, and for those pets undergoing palliative care is also essential. Full training will be given.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under direction you will be required to:-
i. Care for each resident like your own family, to build bonds with each resident in your charge, to understand each individual character, their likes, dislikes, personality and needs, to be receptive and understanding and have the ability to spot when things are not quite right.
ii. Minimise the trauma to any resident at a time of illness with compassionate care and, if needed, staying with them to reassure and “not clock off” when the shift ends.
iii. Provide stability by way of a routine with regard to meal times, exercise, grooming and cleaning, so all residents feel safe and secure.
iv. Provide meals, ie breakfast, lunch and evening meals as well as any extra meals required for residents’ needs.
v. Ensure bedding, towels and coats are washed, bowls, toys, grooming implements and curtains are cleaned. The living quarters for all residents to be spotlessly clean, utensils washed, floors hoovered and mopped. To be able to add the extra little touches to further enhance their living quarters and surroundings.
vi. Pick up animal waste from rooms, patio areas and whilst out walking and dispose of in a safe and hygienic fashion.
vii. Daily cleaning duties to include outside areas of the sanctuary ie stables, aviaries, paddocks, yards and cat gardens having regard for the general tidiness and cleanliness of the entire sanctuary.
viii. Communicate with all residents throughout your shift, be compassionate, patient, gentle and fun.
ix. Prioritise own workload as well as work within a team, communicate effectively with other team members, give and receive emotional support at difficult times when a resident dies.
x. Meet and greet visitors to the sanctuary as and when required.
xi. Liaise with all other staff of the Trust in a flexible manner.
xii. Be familiar with and adhere to The Trust’s procedures, disciplinary and applicable rules and ensure compliance with legislation (Health and Safety, Data Protection, especially the privacy of members, petitioners and volunteers alike).
xiii. At all times to ensure and maintain a compassionate, professional and efficient public image for the Trust.

Advice Service Delivery Manager
The newly created Advice & Support Team plays a key role in delivering Battersea’s increased strategic focus on early intervention in the pet ownership journey. By offering well-timed expert and empathetic support and advice before owners reach crisis point, the team aims to prevent avoidable animal welfare issues and reduce the number of pets relinquished for preventable reasons.
A key service in this area is the Behaviour Advice Line (BAL), currently delivered by our Animal Behaviour Team. This new role exists to lead the development of a clear, evidence-based service model and plan to transform the line into a cost-effective multi-channel service that delivers measurably improved impact for owners and their pets.
The role is for one year with the outcome to develop a detailed service model and associated change plan and budget, that is evidence based, co-designed and in alignment with the future Advice and Support strategy and Operations structure. Iterative changes should be identified for service improvement within the year and a business case for investment produced by the end of July 2026.

You should be able to reach our South Stack Reserve within an hours drive from your home post code. In addition to working at our South Stack Reserve - you will also be working at a few off site venues.
