Hackney CVS is looking for a Development Manager to lead our Organisational Development work and strengthen support for the voluntary and community sector (VCS) across Hackney and the City of London.

 Accountabilities:

Executive and CEO Office Support

• Proactively manage the CEO's diary, inbox and correspondence, exercising independent judgement in prioritising requests and protecting time for strategic priorities.

• Prepare and commission high-quality briefings, background notes, talking points and presentation materials to ensure the CEO is fully prepared for all meetings and engagements.

• Draft, review and quality-assure outgoing correspondence, reports and communications on behalf of the CEO.

• Coordinate and manage complex domestic and international travel arrangements, itineraries, visas and logistics for the CEO and COO, ensuring efficiency and value for money.

• Manage the CEO and COO’s expense reporting and the Executive Office budget, maintaining accurate records and flagging issues proactively.

• Serve as the first point of contact for the CEO's office, managing enquiries from staff, partners, donors and stakeholders with professionalism and discretion.

• Work closely with the Internal Communications and Social Media team lead to ensure CEO internal and external communications are delivered well.

Board and Governance Administration

• Lead the end-to-end administration of Board of Trustee meetings and sub-committees, including scheduling, preparation of Board papers, agenda coordination and minute-taking, utilising AI. The majority are virtual due to the international nature of the board. In-person meetings take place approx. every 18 months.

• Maintain the governance calendar and ensure all regulatory and statutory reporting deadlines are met in coordination with the Company Secretary, CEO and COO.

• Support the onboarding of new Trustees and maintain up-to-date records of Board membership, terms of office and declarations of interest.

• Build strong working relationships with Trustees, acting as a responsive and reliable point of contact between Board meetings.

• Assist with the organisation of the Annual General Meeting and other governance events.

Leadership Team Coordination

• Coordinate the Global Leadership Team (GLT) meeting cycle, including agenda-setting, papers, actions and follow-up, working closely with the CEO and members of GLT.

• Support the CEO in tracking GLT action items, strategic priorities and key commitments, flagging issues and ensuring accountability.

• Co-ordinate with Regional and Country Directors on the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) meetings, including agenda-setting, papers, actions and follow-up,

• Assist with the preparation of materials for all-staff communications, leadership away-days and organisational events.

• Build effective working relationships across Practical Action's global offices, navigating time-zone differences and cultural contexts with sensitivity.

Stakeholder and Partnership Support

• Support the CEO's engagement with major institutional donors, trusts and foundations, bilateral agencies and high-value partners, including managing contact records and briefing materials, liaising closely with the business development and philanthropy teams.

• Coordinate logistics for high-level external visits, delegations, conferences and events involving the CEO.

• Assist with donor stewardship activities and the preparation of materials for fundraising and partnership development.

• Represent the CEO's office professionally in interactions with government officials, international organisations and peer NGOs.

Project and Research Support

• Take on research and project management tasks as directed by the CEO

• Continue to test and utilise AI tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness and share learnings with other members of Practical Action

• Support the delivery of special initiatives and cross-organisational projects led from the Executive Office.

• Maintain confidential files and records management systems for the CEO's office, ensuring compliance with GDPR and information governance policies.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

 Essential

• Significant experience (typically five or more years) as an Executive Assistant or Personal Assistant supporting a Chief Executive or equivalent senior leaders in a complex and or charitable organisation.

• Demonstrable experience of Board and governance administration, including minuting meetings and managing trustee or director-level relationships.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft high-quality correspondence, briefing papers and presentations to Board or senior stakeholder standard.

• Outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain quality under pressure.

• High degree of discretion, confidentiality and professional judgement in handling sensitive information about people, partners and organisational matters.

We’re looking for a proactive and organised temporary Research Officer to support the delivery of Childre with Cancer UK’s 2026 grant round.

The role will support research grant management, peer review coordination, Scientific Advisory Panel meetings and research communications, helping ensure funding processes run smoothly and effectively. The post holder will also support portfolio audit and research landscape activities, providing an opportunity to gain insight into a charity funded medical research and the childhood cancer research sector. To support the Children with Cancer UK research programme to ensure our research grant rounds run smoothly and efficiently and that our research is communicated effectively.

Main duties and responsibilities

Research Application Review

· Support the administration and coordination of research grant rounds and funding activities

About the role

We’re looking for a Community Forester to help deliver woodland creation and management projects across Raise: Cumbria Community Forest.

This role will support the delivery of woodland creation and restoration projects with landowners, contractors, communities and volunteers across a range of sites. You’ll coordinate delivery on the ground, support contractor management and work directly on practical forestry activities as part of a small and growing team.

The Public Interest News Foundation (PINF) is the UK’s first charity that exists to promote high-quality journalism. Last year, we launched an ambitious ten-year mission to regenerate local news in the UK. We believe that local news is a vital part of the fabric of local communities, drawing people together around shared facts and pride in place at a time of disinformation and division.

We are pursuing our mission by (1) sourcing new funds for local news; (2) advocating for supportive government policies; and (3) celebrating local news providers from the UK and around the world that are Accountable, Sustainable, in the Public interest, Innovative, Representative and Engaging (ASPIRE).

Over the last year, we have successfully encouraged the UK Government to launch an unprecedented new £12m Local News Fund. We have also built support for our mission from US and UK donors. Purpose of the Role

The Programmes Officer will support the PINF team across our three workstreams: the Local News Fund; Local News Campaign; and Local News Futures programme.

· Through the Local News Fund, we work with grantmakers and social investors (including government-backed fund managers) to unlock new economic resources for local news across the UK.

· Through the Local News Campaign, we work with the BBC, big tech firms, central and local government, MPs, Peers and regulators to shape a positive enabling environment for local news across the UK.

· Through the Local News Futures programme, we work with academics, civil society organisations, journalism support organisations and local news providers to showcase models of local news with the most positive impact.

The Programmes Officer will provide support with events, research and campaigns across these workstreams, and will also provide support with our organisational functions, including communications, fundraising and governance.

By providing efficient and effective support to the team, the Programmes Officer will unlock new potential for PINF to deliver our charitable purpose.

Key Responsibilities

Events

· Support the Deputy Director with the successful delivery of the annual Local News Forum by:

o Maintaining a comprehensive and up to date project plan

o Contributing to the effective marketing of the event within PINF’s network of independent local news providers and stakeholders

o Managing ticket sales and maintaining an accurate database of invitees and participants

o Contributing to effective working relationships with partners and suppliers, including venues and sponsors

o Managing speakers

o Supporting budget administration, including tracking agreed expenditure and processing spending in line with approved budgets and under the oversight of the Deputy Director

o Responding promptly and efficiently to queries

o Providing on-the-day support including registering participants, liaising with the venue and catering providers, ensuring smooth technical support and troubleshooting any issues as they arise

Research

· Support the Deputy Director with our research objectives by:

o Organising and minuting twice-yearly online meetings of our Research Advisory Group

o Working with colleagues to ensure the Local News Map is comprehensive and up to date

o Liaising with independent local news providers to support the new Local News Audit

Campaigns

· Support the Campaigns & Communications Manager with our campaign objectives by:

o Managing relationships with independent news providers participating in our annual Indie News Week

o Supporting budget administration for campaign activity, including tracking agreed expenditure and processing spending in line with approved budgets and under the oversight of the Campaigns & Communications Manager

o Supporting key campaign moments including parliamentary events, party conferences, roundtables and other online and offline events

o Providing logistical and administrative support for key campaign moments, including by maintaining participant and invitation lists, tracking RSVPs and preparing background information for colleagues

Communications

· Support the Campaigns & Communications Manager with our communications objectives by:

o Managing the ‘contact’ email inbox

o Supporting the delivery of engaging content across PINF’s blog and newsletter, including gathering stories, opportunities and other relevant material, in collaboration with the Campaigns & Communications Manager

o Managing PINF’s social media channels including LinkedIn, BlueSky and Instagram

o Updating elements and pages across our website

o Supporting PINF’s WhatsApp community of independent local news providers by sharing relevant content, helping eligible participants to join, and assisting with day-to-day moderation

Fundraising

· Support the Deputy Director with our fundraising objectives by:

o Maintaining the fundraising database and keeping records up to date based on information provided by colleagues

o Facilitating monthly internal fundraising meetings

Essential skills and experience

· Experience in an administrative, coordination or project support role

About The Drive Partnership 

The Drive Partnership, established by Respect, SafeLives, and Social Finance in 2015, is working to end domestic abuse and protect victim-survivors by disrupting, challenging, and changing the behaviour of those who are causing harm. The Drive Partnership does this through the development of innovative perpetrator responses and advocating for systems and policy change to develop sustainable, national systems that respond more effectively to all perpetrators to increase the safety and freedom of all adult and child victim-survivors. 

Purpose

Following a four-year investment from the Home Office announced in July 2025, the Drive Project – the Drive Partnership’s flagship intervention for high-risk, high-harm and serial perpetrators of domestic abuse – will expand across all areas in England and Wales, with the vast majority of funding flowing directly to local perpetrator services and victim-survivor services by nature of the Drive Project’s model. 

To support the safe implementation of the expansion of the Drive Project intervention, we are seeking a proactive, solution focused individual to work with Drive Partnership and SafeLives, and our delivery sites to ensure our Data Protection policies and practice are up to date, and being consistently adhered to.

This is a new role and will spend two days working to support the Drive Partnership and one day to support SafeLives directly. For more information on SafeLives and the Drive Partnership, please see below.

The role is sensitive by nature and involves dealing with highly confidential and complex information.

This role sits within the Finance Department and is a critical support function across SafeLives and the Drive Partnership . The Data Protection Officer will be managed by the IT and Compliance Manager and will also work closely with the Head of Operations and Practice Advisors in the Drive Partnership, and , Heads and the Leadership Team to ensure the smooth operating of the business.

The purpose of this role is to develop incredible relationships with new and existing fundraising supporters within your region helping them to network, influence and fundraise to have a significant impact on the work of the charity. Through your network and creating new opportunities you will increase income in your region across multiple income streams including Education, Individuals, In Memory Supporters and Community Organisations.

• Have previous experience in income generation – leading and inspiring networks in order to generate long term income and partnerships

Principle Responsibilities  

• Proactively recruit high-calibre supporters, volunteers, and community groups, inspiring and leading these networks to generate sustainable income

• Manage a portfolio of regional donors, ensuring excellent stewardship and long-term engagement. Enabling supporters to maximise their fundraising potential 

• Monitor and report on income, expenditure, and key performance indicators, including volunteer recruitment and event registrations, managing an income budget of approximately £600k PA.

• Deliver presentations and pitches to schools, community organisations, and businesses. 

• Act as “the face of BWCHC” within your region, developing and acquiring meaningful, long-term relationships

• Grow and strengthen volunteer and ambassador programmes in line with charity processes and procedures. Enhance fundraising volunteers’ skills to act on behalf of the Charity 

• Spend at least 50% of your time working within your region. Plan effectively, develop fundraising products, and collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure excellent donor stewardship. 

• Maintain strong communication and collaboration across the fundraising department and hospital, balancing relationships effectively while working remotely.

About the role

The Community Link Worker will play a key role in supporting individuals who are economically inactive due to musculoskeletal issues and/or mental health needs, and with a desire to return to or get into work. The postholder will build strong relationships with local services, employment teams, health professionals and community organisations to enable clients to reintegrate into the workforce and improve their overall wellbeing.

This role requires flexibility to work across multiple community settings, including GP practices and outreach locations as part of a multidisciplinary team. As well as having a base at the Merton Connected office in Vestry Hall and potential opportunity to work from home.

Digital Fundraising Officer - 12-month Maternity Cover

The Veterans' Foundation is entering its second decade with a clear ambition to build a more sustainable, diversified and data-led fundraising model. Following ten years of rapid growth driven primarily through lottery acquisition, the organisation is now evolving its approach to strengthen supporter engagement, improve retention and maximise fundraising performance across a wider range of income streams.

This role will play an important part in that transition. As the Foundation launches a new website, develops its use of Salesforce and strengthens its supporter communications, the Digital Fundraising Officer will help deliver effective digital fundraising and engagement activity across multiple channels. The postholder will support campaign delivery, manage digital content and platforms, and use data and insight to improve performance and supporter experience.

Principal Duties

The main duties of the Digital Fundraising Officer are:

· To plan, create and deliver fundraising, supporter engagement and stewardship communications across digital channels including email, website and social media

· To manage content across the Veterans' Foundation website, ensuring it remains accurate, engaging, accessible and aligned to fundraising and organisational priorities

· To support delivery of integrated fundraising campaigns across digital channels, helping to maximise income, engagement and supporter retention

· To use Salesforce and other digital systems to support campaign delivery, audience selection, reporting and data management
