Purpose of the Job:
This role is within our crisis alternative service – Safe Space - which is an out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. The service operates 365 days a year from 12:00pm(midday)-11:30pm across all of our boroughs. The shift pattern for this role is 4:30-11:30pm. This will be on a rota basis across support workers.
Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone on a one-to-one or group basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis. This will consist of 1:1 support; de-escalating and providing interventions, signposting for specialised or longer-term support, and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing. The aim of this service is to de-escalate and prevent further crises.
The objectives of the service include:
- To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in HFEH.
- To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation, planned wellbeing activities etc.
- To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
- To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
- To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
- To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation
- To increase self-management skills of those accessing the service
- To reduce the use of police, ambulance and statutory mental health services whilst experiencing crisis.
- To reduce the use of statutory crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing a person centred and recovery orientated approach in all aspects of the roles and responsibilities.

Purpose of the Job
Hammersmith and Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow Mind run an innovative crisis prevention service designed as a place for children and young people at risk of mental health crises to de-escalate and have access to a skilled staff team to support them. The Circle is open out of hours (3pm-11pm or 12pm-8pm weekends and holidays), 365 days a year, and has been designed to reduce the need for young people to attend A&E. Co-designed by young people, it is a friendly and accessible space.The mental health adviser role is key to the support that children and young people will receive on site, and you will have the opportunity to work with 5-18 year olds, as well as providing signposting and support to parents/carers and other agencies.
This Mental Health Adviser role would suit an experienced Mental Health Youth Worker, CAMHS support worker, Youth Counsellor, Child Wellbeing Practitioner, Emotional Wellbeing Practitioner, an Assistant Psychologist with some training in MH interventions like CBT, or other roles that have given you experience and skills in working with Children and Young People presenting with difficulties related to their Mental Health.
Key Responsbilities
- Work as part of a team dedicated to providing support to children and young people who are at risk of mental health crisis, or may otherwise attend A&E.
- Offer one to one support via drop in or appointments, and be child-centred in that support.
- Work alongside children and young people, their parents/carers and families in increasing self-management of presenting difficulties.
- Signpost anyone accessing the service to appropriate and local on-going support; and build up your knowledge and networks of such support.
- Understand and implement safeguarding procedures, and be familiar with safeguarding law, and how it applies to our work.
- Follow risk procedures, be familiar with completing risk assessments, and refer to on-call or senior managers appropriately.
You will have:
- A minimum of two years’ experience of supporting children and/young people in a mental health service or similar role in a paid or volunteer capacity, in a 1:1 and group setting
- An ability to form supportive relationships with families, and tailor support to individual need.

- Working knowledge of child and adult safeguarding.

We began a contract with the Ministry of Justice in June 2021, delivering a pan London Housing Advice & Interventions Service, in partnership with St Mungo's. With Single Homeless Project staff co-located in probation offices, we work in close partnership with the Probation Service, to support people on probation to either sustain their current accommodation or to secure new housing as needed.

The Children and Young People's Psychological Training programmes (CYP-PT) (formerly CYP-IAPT) is a service transformation programme delivered by NHS England that aims to improve existing children and young people's mental health Services (CYP-PTs) working in the community.
As part of this initiative, Centre 33 is looking to recruit two trainee ‘Children and Young People’s Wellbeing Practitioners’ (CWP) to join our existing team based within the ‘Someone to Talk to’ service.
As a trainee CWP you will deliver brief, evidence-based, goal focused interventions to support young people aged 13-25 experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. You will provide some ‘Guided Self Help’ interventions to support parents of younger children aged 5 -12 who experience anxiety and behavioural difficulties. You will deliver support in a variety of ways including both 121 and group work, workshops and webinars. Based within the Wiltshire Domestic Abuse Service, the IDVA team works within a multi-agency system to provide a proactive, person-centered independent service for victims of domestic abuse, empowering choice through informed decision making.

Chapter2 is a young and growing charity that is uniquely focused on helping one of the most at-risk groups within our communities: fatherless boys. Millions of boys in the UK are growing up without any meaningful contact with their father and the consequences can be profound. Chapter2 is combatting this worsening trend across Reading by offering dedicated long-term male mentors for fatherless boys.
We have two mentoring programmes:

Partnership programme: The provision of trained and assessed mentors for young persons is achieved in partnership with a “Partner Organisation” such as a local church.

Centralised programme: The provision of trained and assessed mentors for young persons is achieved independently by Chapter2.
This role is an exciting opportunity to help grow our Centralised programme. This role is ideally suited to an outgoing self-starter who is comfortable working within an open and fast-moving environment.
The main purpose of the role is to recruit, train and supervise mentors. We are looking for a highly motivated individual whose personality, experience and skills are flexible and adept in navigating a range of responsibilities. We would consider either a part-time (minimum 3 days a week) or full-time position for this role.
As a charity with a Christian ethos, we want to bring our faith to the work we do and the men we work with. We are looking for someone with a deep-rooted Christian faith that plays a key role in their everyday life, seeking the guidance of the God’s will in all key decisions. Therefore, under the Equality Act 2010, this post has an occupational requirement to be a Christian.
Job description
General

Support the continued growth of the charity as it seeks to respond to the significant need in the Reading area for mentors for fatherless boys. In particular, through providing support for the Centralised programme.

Being supportive and sympathetic towards Chapter2’s Christian ethos.
Mentors
-
Develop and implement a strategy for recruiting new male mentors for the Centralised programme.

Assess and train volunteer male mentors.
-
Monitor the progress of the mentoring relationship through regular in-house monitoring and supervision. At the minimum you will hold monthly meetings with mentors to review progress either virtually or in person.

Utilise feedback to engage and encourage mentors (videos, statistics, testimonies) and to contribute to the wider Chapter2 external communications.

Help to develop, attend and present at training or recruitment events.

Attend group activities and mentor events.
Mums/Guardians and Mentees

Support in updating our referrals database on Charity Suite (you will be provided with training on how to use this system).

Manage regular communication with mums/guardians.

Arrange and attend pre-matching and matching meetings.

Attend professional meetings when appropriate.

Attend Mums/Guardian events.

Contribute to the ongoing assessment of the centralised mentoring programme through the co-ordination of an external evaluation process.

Remain proactive and alert with regards to any safeguarding matters and help deliver a robust safeguarding culture within Chapter2.
Skills and experiences

Initially this is a one-year contract with a 3-month probationary period.
Work Location: Reading Area. This role is predominantly home-based. During the probationary period, two days per week will be face-to-face. The role will require regular face-to-face meetings in the Reading Area.
The role will require the successful candidate to have a DBS Enhanced Disclosure.

You will work closely alongside the refuges Team Leader and Service Manager to implement and deliver a trauma informed approach to refuge services. We’re looking for a highly organised and self-motivated woman who is passionate about ending violence against women, girls and children. You’ll have a ‘can-do’ approach and demonstrable commitment to nia’s approach to Prioritising women, upholding and promoting feminist, trauma-informed and anti-racist practice.

About the programme
As well as a commitment to the organisations we work with, we have a commitment to our people and developing the next generation of leaders within the social impact, consultancy and evaluation sectors. We are excited to launch our two-year career and leadership development programme which will provide an opportunity to work within, and rotate between, our organisational practices.
We are delighted that you are interested in joining the Social Impact Fast Track. In the first year of your programme you will join the team as an Analyst and, subject to successful completion of year one, in year two you will progress to Senior Analyst. During your two-year programme you will work within at least two of our organisational practices. You will work directly with our partners, understanding their needs and supporting them to maximise their impact. During the programme you will also lead pro-bono projects for our corporate social responsibility partners.
In addition to gaining experience with our partners and within our teams, you will undertake a structured learning and development programme which includes mentoring from one of our Group Directors, and regular learning and development sessions including a dedicated professional development budget. Between years one and two you will receive a two-week paid break and a budget of up to £1500 to complete a research project on ‘Impact and Sustainability’ and report your findings back to representatives of our Group Board. You will also have the opportunity to have a two-week placement in one of our partner organisations, to help you develop your professional skill set. At the end of the programme we expect a number of participants to apply for and progress into our Officer and Manager roles, or look to secure positions with our partners or other like minded social purpose organisations.
