Role Purpose

The Supporter Engagement Assistant is responsible for growing support for Bassetlaw Foodbank through partnerships, fundraising and community engagement. The role focuses on developing relationships with local businesses, organisations, volunteers and supporters to increase income, donations, and awareness of the charity’s work tackling poverty.

The post holder will represent the charity in the community, identify new opportunities to expand support and generate income, organise donation drives and events, and manage volunteers.

Outdoor and community-based working will be a regular part of the role, with occasional weekend working required.

About us

Bassetlaw Foodbank (BFB) was established in 2012 to tackle food insecurity across the district of Bassetlaw. Since 2020 the charity has expanded to tackle poverty on multiple fronts, running projects that focus both on the affordability and accessibility of food. We support residents of Bassetlaw who are in crisis, and those at risk of falling into crisis.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Income Generation

• Work towards agreed income generation targets.
• Approach and strengthen relationships with organisations, with a focus on corporate partnerships, to drive in additional funding for the charity.
• Develop and deliver community fundraising activities to increase income.
• Take the lead on income and donation generating activities, like standing at Retford Market, Charter Day and in store donation drives.
• Identify and pursue new fundraising opportunities including events, campaigns and community initiatives.
• Encourage individual and community donations through creative fundraising approaches.
• Support the development of donation drives and appeals.

Partnerships & Community Engagement

• Build partnerships with local businesses, faith groups, schools and community organisations.
• Strengthen relationships with existing partners including local third sector organisations.
• Represent the charity at community meetings, events and networking opportunities.
• Identify collaborative opportunities with other organisations to expand support and impact.
• Encourage opportunities for corporate fundraising on behalf of BFB.

Donation Drives & Community Campaigns

• Organise and coordinate donation drives for food and other essential items.
• Engage local organisations and the public to participate in donation campaigns.
• Develop relationships with regular donors and supporters.

Volunteer Coordination

• Recruit, coordinate and support volunteers involved in fundraising and community activities.
• Ensure volunteers feel valued, supported and engaged.
• Provide guidance and oversight for volunteer-led initiatives.

Advocacy & Public Engagement

• Act as a spokesperson and ambassador for BFB in the community.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with supporters and donors.
• Promote the charity’s mission and impact to increase awareness and support.

Growth & Development

• Identify new opportunities to grow the charity’s supporter base.
• Monitor local trends and opportunities for partnership, funding and engagement.
• Contribute ideas and strategies to expand the charity’s reach and sustainability.

Person Specification

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience in fundraising, community engagement, partnership development, or a similar role.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence representing an organisation in public and community settings.
• Ability to work independently and proactively identify opportunities.
• A willingness to work flexibly within the week determined by operational priorities. 
• Safeguarding training to Level 2 or a willingness to complete.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple activities.
• This role requires the post holder to be able to set up and take down stalls at events so the ability to carry out heavy lifting, following manual handling procedures, is essential.
• Full driver’s licence.

About the role

Hours: 22.5 hours a week. We envision working across regular days throughout the week, with flexibility required to be able to attend fundraising and community events and opportunities.

Salary: £16,824 pa. (£28,041 FTE)

Location: The role will be based at Bassetlaw Foodbank’s two offices in Worksop and Retford, but regular travel to events, meetings and other opportunities across the district will be required.

Additional information: Outdoor working and community outreach are regular parts of the role. Some evening or weekend work may occasionally be required to attend events or activities.

This role has been funded The Fore for 12 months, with the likelihood of extension if key targets are met.

The Foundation for Jewish Heritage is the UK’s only dedicated organisation focused on preserving and activating Jewish built heritage as a catalyst for education, culture, memory and community renewal.

Over the past decade, the Foundation has grown from a small specialist charity into a recognised leader in the field of Jewish built heritage. It has secured major support for nationally significant projects, including a £6 million flagship heritage project supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Welsh Government, Garfield Weston, Wolfson and Rothschild.

The Foundation is now entering an important new phase. Alongside major project delivery, it is taking on a wider UK role, supporting communities and historic synagogues across the country, including places such as Liverpool, Bradford, Leicester, Brighton and Merthyr Tydfil. It is also developing European partnerships, particularly in countries such as Poland and Germany, and strengthening relationships with North American and Canadian supporters.

The Foundation’s work is about more than saving buildings. Historic synagogues and heritage sites are gateways into the stories of Jewish life, identity, migration, civic contribution and cultural memory. They offer a powerful way of engaging Jewish and wider audiences with the richness and complexity of Jewish history in Britain and across Europe.

The Foundation has reached a point where its fundraising structure needs to match the scale of its ambition.

Until now, much of the fundraising has been led directly by the Chief Executive, supported by trustees, consultants and external bid writers. This has delivered significant success, particularly around major heritage projects and institutional funders. However, the organisation now needs a more structured, proactive and relationship-led fundraising function.

The Head of Development will work closely with the Chief Executive, trustees and a new Fundraising Committee to broaden the donor base, strengthen major relationships, develop new income streams, and ensure that the Foundation is no longer dependent on a small number of individuals or on the Chief Executive holding most fundraising relationships personally.

This is not simply a fundraising support post. It is a strategic development role for someone who can combine relationship building, major donor fundraising, compelling written communication, careful stewardship and long-term pipeline management.

The successful candidate will help turn the Foundation’s growing profile into sustained philanthropic support.

What does this role involve?
As Legacy Campaign Manager, you will:

• work closely with external agencies to deliver key legacy products, including gifts in wills, In Memoriam gifts and our Canine Care Card,

• link the rehoming centre with supporters in the local community, developing relationships with local individuals, businesses, community groups and clubs,

While you’ll be a key part of the rehoming centre team, you’ll be regularly be working independently, so strong organisational skills and a proactive approach is essential.

This role is based at the rehoming centre, and the post holder will spend lots of time in the community meeting supporters. The working pattern is typically Monday and Tuesdays, but flexibility is required and is likely to involve some evening and weekend work, depending on the nature of the work.

The Senior Community Fundraising & Events Coordinator will play a key role in growing and diversifying Brain Research UK’s community fundraising income and supporter engagement.

Working closely with supporters, volunteers, community groups, and internal colleagues, the post-holder will help develop meaningful relationships, deliver engaging fundraising activities and events, and provide an excellent supporter experience.

North Paddington Foodbank (NPFB) is looking for a Triage Support Officer to join our innovative and vibrant team.

You will be the first point of contact for households in crisis situations, responsible for triaging referrals,
assessing eligibility, and ensuring residents are connected to the right support, through Crisis & Resilience
or alternative pathways.

A key part of the role is working closely with the Senior Caseworker, ensuring a strong pipeline from
triage into intensive casework. You will gather high-quality information, prepare referrals, and support
a seamless handover so that households can move quickly from crisis support into longer-term
income maximisation.

You will have strategic responsibility for planning and delivering JUSTICEʼs legal and policy programme, ensuring alignment with the organisationʼs wider strategic goals and working closely with the Chief Executive, Director of Strategy and Impact and wider leadership team. 

As a leading legal and policy expert, you will play a central role in developing and maintaining strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including government ministers and officials, parliamentarians, the judiciary, service delivery organisations, civil society partners and people with lived experience of the justice system. Working collaboratively with colleagues, you will help shape advocacy and influencing strategies designed to drive legal and policy reform across the UK. 

You will oversee the planning, delivery and resourcing of JUSTICEʼs legal and policy work, ensuring strong project management, effective budget oversight and timely reporting on risks, progress and impact. You will also contribute to organisational sustainability by identifying funding opportunities and supporting fundraising efforts, recognising the importance of sustainable resourcing to the charityʼs long-term success.
