Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is seeking a motivated and organised Grants Officer to help secure vital funding for nature's recovery across Yorkshire. Working closely with the Grants Manager and colleagues across the Trust, you will research funding opportunities, develop compelling grant applications and manage relationships with trusts, foundations and other grant-making organisations. North Paddington Foodbank (NPFB) is looking for a Triage Support Officer to join our innovative and vibrant team.

You will be the first point of contact for households in crisis situations, responsible for triaging referrals,
assessing eligibility, and ensuring residents are connected to the right support, through Crisis & Resilience
or alternative pathways.

A key part of the role is working closely with the Senior Caseworker, ensuring a strong pipeline from
triage into intensive casework. You will gather high-quality information, prepare referrals, and support
a seamless handover so that households can move quickly from crisis support into longer-term

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising and Strategy

• Work with the Strategic Lead to develop and implement a fundraising strategy, including agreed income targets)
• Proactively build and manage a solid pipeline of funding applications and approaches.
• Establish, cultivate, and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing funders, including corporates, trusts & foundations, high-net-worth individuals and the statutory sector.

Partnership Development

• Work with the Strategic Lead to develop partnerships, and identify opportunities for added value and mutual benefit, such as promoting Merton Giving through the Council’s payroll giving scheme.

• Collaborate with print suppliers to identify cost-saving opportunities and share creative ideas early in the briefing process
• Liaise with the online team to strategically support mail appeals through coordinated email and social media campaigns
• Process invoices in line with agreed budgets and produce appeal cost reports
• Coordinate file storage and archival
• Analyse appeal data and response rates to generate insights and propose innovative, data-driven appeal ideas
• Development of non-specific appeal ideas, exploring opportunities in channels like the Vegan City Guides and our various Newsletters
• Support the production of performance reports to aid in strategic decision-making
• Develop and manage the welcome programme, with a strategic focus on improving long-term donor retention
• Proactively explore ways to use AI tools to improve efficiency, consistency, and speed in campaign delivery
• Build and maintain a comprehensive library of other charities' fundraising work across all channels
• Maintain campaign logs, departmental archives, and mailing samples
• Manage document storage and stock control
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Proficiency in using a CRM systems (experience with Raiser’s Edge is highly desirable)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, analyse response rates, and translate findings into actionable recommendations
• Excellent organisational and project coordination skills with impeccable attention to detail
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with experience in proofreading and briefing stakeholders
• Ability to prioritise a heavy workload, meet multiple deadlines, and work well under pressure
• A creative and innovative mindset with a passion for testing new ideas and strategies across different channels
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work with minimal supervision, and build effective relationships with internal teams and external suppliers

Main Purpose of Role:

· Devise and implement a mixed programme of community fundraising activities, to generate a sustainable source of unrestricted income to meet agreed targets.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Launch, implement and run innovative income generating projects to maximise donations to SWA, to look after relationships with existing donors and build on relationships created to ensure fundraising potential is optimised.
• Set up and manage a volunteer community fundraising team
• Organise and manage community fundraising activities (including digital) and events to maximise all fundraising opportunities and work to raise the profile of the SWA.
• Keep abreast of developments in the third sector relating to fundraising and have an awareness of the local competition for donations.

Experience 

• Minimum of two years’ experience in community fundraising with a proven track record of achieving funding target
• Experience in planning, organising and delivering fundraising campaigns, events and activities
• Developing and evaluating new opportunities for partnerships and community fundraising
• Raising funds via social media activities/digital marketing
• Experience of managing or working with volunteers to support fundraising activities

Knowledge

• Regulatory knowledge to include Gift Aid, general data protection regulations and fundraising best practices.
