The Role

Building relationships with the fire and rescue services in your area, you’ll become an integral part of the local fire services community. You’ll join a nation-wide team of inspiring and innovative fundraisers, working collaboratively to secure the much-needed income for the Charity. 

Helping to coordinate events, support fundraising initiatives and implement new ideas, you’ll support your people, stations, and offices to raise awareness of the Charity and achieve and exceed income targets, as well as working with local businesses and people to maximise our fundraising potential.

By generating the income, we need to realise our ambitions you will help us to be there for even more members of the fire and rescue community.

About You

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and innovative fundraiser to join our team, full of ideas and a positive attitude.

You’ll need excellent business and project planning skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and adapt your communication style to your audience.

You’ll be responsible for maximising the potential fundraising income from every initiative you support, so you must be able to effectively engage with multiple stakeholders and build strong networks.

You’ll also be able to support and inspire our volunteers, ensuring that these vital links between our Charity and the fire and rescue services are happy and fulfilled in their roles.

The Role

The Person

We are looking for critical research ability, proven potential to grow, and an intellectually curious mindset. These traits are essential to success in this role, more so, than very specific backgrounds. Previous research experience in an analytical capacity is a definite a plus.

This person will have substantial experience (3-5 years) of working in environments such as philanthropy, either within grant making through family, corporate or independent foundations or possibly within the corporate or investment world where social impact and transformational change is the end goal. A fantastic independent and people-focused national charity are looking for a Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Manager on a FTC until 31 March 2025.

As Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Manager, you will lead on the development, management and implementation of evaluation and learning activities.

Working closely with the Programme Manager and Head of Innovation, you will enable the charity to capture insights and learning in relation to the design and delivery of their support offer and analyse data and surface learning around the detail of projects with specific attention to scaling up innovation.

In this newly created role, you will play a central role in shaping the organisational approach to MEL, enabling ongoing reflection and adaptation to drive continuous improvement, and support the embedding of learning in relation to social care innovation and improvement across the charity.

The successful candidate will have significant MEL experience in the charitable sector, Health and Social Care, or Social Change space including both MEL delivery and capacity building and will have proven ability to shape, sustain and lead on MEL activity requiring collaboration with a range of different stakeholders, creating appropriately robust but flexible processes and structures. Technical expertise in both quantitative and qualitative methodologies and the implications of their use for organisations of different scales and in different contexts is vital, as is experience of designing and delivering workshops and training for diverse audiences.

Pause works with women who have experienced – or are at risk of – repeated pregnancies that result in children needing to be removed from their care. The programme gives women the chance to pause and take control over their lives, breaking a destructive cycle that causes both them and their children deep trauma. We are now working with more women who have experienced multiple removals than anyone else in the country.

The Pause Practice Lead will manage one of our largest teams – six Pause Practitioners and one Coordinator. The Practice Lead will ensure effective delivery of the Pause programme – they will work alongside their team, bringing a wealth of direct practice experience of complex work to maximise the team’s potential. 

The Practice Lead will provide high levels of supervision and leadership to team members from a variety of disciplines, as well ensuring fidelity and integrity to the model. They will typically have significant experience in both operational and project management, with an ability to manage complex data and demonstrate impact. Additionally, they will usually have experience of evidence informed approaches.

Key responsibilities

• Effectively lead and coach the Pause Practice to achieve positive outcomes for women - setting vision, targets and priorities;
• Ensure fidelity and integrity to the model through delivery of the Pause Framework elements, for example, assertive outreach with women and ensuring the most effective form of long-acting reversible contraception is in place;
• Ensure effective pathways are established and maintained with key agencies, e.g. sexual health, housing and mental health;
• Ensure an evidence base is applied to practice through assessment of a woman's needs, case formulation, intervention delivery and review;
• Ensure outcomes are achieved and monitored through the Pause Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Framework and that real-time data is used to improve practice and reported to relevant funders;

• Manage expenditure of the Pause Practice and ensure any financial spend on women is aligned with their goals as set out in the care plan;

We're looking for a Voids and Project Manager to join our Landlord Services team in located at our Head Office currently located in Westminster and moving to Caledonian Road this year.

Overall Purpose

Voids - Each year, Look Ahead collects c£21m of rent and service charge from the c3,000 units of property that we own and manage. This amount represents roughly a third of Look Ahead's annual income and therefore it is essential for us to maximise occupancy rates within our properties.

This is a varied opportunity that will see you managing the completion of all void works and ensuring that all properties are let within our Corporate deadlines. Look Ahead manages approx. 1500 units on other landlord's behalf, of which there are approx. 35. You will therefore have strong organisational skills and have the ability to build rapport with our landlords. We also operate across London and the Home counties, and the successful candidate will need to familiarise themselves with our stock quickly and establish effective working relationships with the teams on the ground.

Mind CHWF, a prominent provider of specialist mental health services supporting approximately 5,000 people annually in the City, Hackney, and Waltham Forest, is seeking an experienced Finance Controller to join their Senior Management Team. This is a unique opportunity to lead their financial strategy and operations, making a significant impact on a cause that truly matters.

This part-time role offers a flexible schedule of 19 hours per week, spread over 3 to 4 days, with a requirement to attend the office at least once a month and participate in occasional evening Trustee meetings. As a Finance Controller, you will support the management team and finance committee by utilizing financial information to effectively plan and administer services. Your responsibilities will include managing the contract for outsourced day-to-day financial operations and overseeing our fundholding relationships. You will also use business intelligence tools to develop dashboards that deliver insightful data for strategic decision-making and perform trend analysis to optimise financial decisions.

The role involves ensuring the provision of accurate and comprehensive financial management information across the organisation, collaborating on developing budgets and financial reports for both current and potential funders, identifying risks, contributing to successful audits, and maximising cost recovery on restricted contracts. Additionally, you will serve as the main contact for external finance-related stakeholders, manage petty cash, and provide reporting at Finance and Trustee Board meetings.

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in formulating, overseeing, and reporting on operational plans with a strategic and collaborative mindset. You should be adept at innovative, data-driven decision-making with high adaptability to new information systems. Excellent communication skills, prioritization capabilities, and meticulous attention to detail are essential. Proficiency in advanced Microsoft technologies and a solid understanding of information governance, data protection, and risk management are also required.

The Role

We are looking for a coordinator to carry out the delivery of our Vocational Qualifications and Funded Modern Apprenticeship Programmes.

The role includes course and funding administration, communication with students and teaching staff, registration with external bodies, and maintenance of student records.

This post requires essential knowledge of IT with a clear understanding of data input and good data management principles, attention to detail and the ability to follow strict timelines in accordance with our funders, as well as adhering to contract requirements. You must be knowledgeable in using Microsoft office packages, be keen to learn various administrative procedures and to use database systems, both internal and external. We also require good communication and organisational skills.

We continuously recruit students for our various programmes throughout the year, so the successful candidate will have a flexible approach and the ability to prioritise. We are a small organisation so the ability to work independently and to self-motivate is essential, as well as being a supportive member of a small admin team.

This post is part time, 28 hours per week. We can offer a hybrid approach, however 3 days in the office environment is preferred (EH7 5QY)

Reporting to the Head of Policy and Public Affairs, the new Senior Policy and Public Affairs Manager will lead and advise on the delivery of global policy, public affairs and stakeholder engagement activities that champion the protection and support of workers. The postholder will develop and maintain relationships with key political and government stakeholders within the UK and Ireland, ensuring the organisation remains a credible, trusted, and impartial voice. The new Senior Policy and Public Affairs Manager will research, and facilitate the development, delivery and campaigning of, high-quality evidence-based policy positions, with an opportunity to influence and impact policy within the UK and Ireland and internationally.
 
To be successful, you will have an excellent understanding of UK & Irelands political environment, with experience collaborating with governments, parliament, international organisations, and civil society organisations. You will be an experienced networker who building relationships easily and have experience of working in advocacy/engagement, able to advocate for policy positions at various stakeholder engagements with clear, evidence-based positioning. You will have excellent research capabilities and use your findings to produce high-quality reports, with an ability to communicate and produce policy priorities. It is beneficial, but not a necessity to have knowledge or experience in occupational safety, or health and wellbeing.
