As the Major Donor Manager, you will join a collaborative fundraising team and focus on building upon existing and new relationships with high-net-worth-individuals to secure income and support. Working within a sub-team of three including a Prospect Research Manager and the Senior Major Donor Manager, this role will have great support and work with the team to grow the major donor portfolio and achieve a team target. To be successful as the Major Donor Manager you will have proven experience in building and securing relationships with high-net-worth-individuals. This person will have secured relationships of either a four, five or six figure level. You will ideally have done this previously within a fundraising environment and understand how to engage potential donors. This person will be passionate about ending food insecurity and be excited to work with a collaborative team.
This role is a full-time permanent position that will have hybrid working in the London offices. The salary for this role is £41,000 to £45,000.

About the role

The Role
Building relationships with the fire and rescue services in your area, you’ll become an integral part of the local fire services community. You’ll join a nation-wide team of inspiring and innovative fundraisers, working collaboratively to secure the much-needed income for the Charity.
Helping to coordinate events, support fundraising initiatives and implement new ideas, you’ll support your people, stations, and offices to raise awareness of the Charity and achieve and exceed income targets, as well as working with local businesses and people to maximise our fundraising potential.
By generating the income, we need to realise our ambitions you will help us to be there for even more members of the fire and rescue community.

About You
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and innovative fundraiser to join our team, full of ideas and a positive attitude.
You’ll need excellent business and project planning skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and adapt your communication style to your audience.
You’ll be responsible for maximising the potential fundraising income from every initiative you support, so you must be able to effectively engage with multiple stakeholders and build strong networks.
You’ll also be able to support and inspire our volunteers, ensuring that these vital links between our Charity and the fire and rescue services are happy and fulfilled in their roles.
Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, you’ll be an excellent communicator with exceptional organisational skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.

The Role
The Philanthropy & Research Manager will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy to deliver on their ambitious strategy. This person will help cultivate a pipeline of ideas and manage a concentrated portfolio of philanthropic partnerships for the long-term. They will contribute to the portfolio by conducting deep, critical research in line with the inthallo’s unique approach and criteria. This will involve applying due diligence by prioritising qualitative factors and building purposeful relationships to deliver mutually beneficial engagement plans. The approach focuses on the identification of organisations with a unique, scalable offering and the potential to deliver transformational societal returns. In addition to this, this person will conduct sector specific or thematic research projects and share them with the wider team to contribute to the learning of the whole organisation.
The Person
We are looking for critical research ability, proven potential to grow, and an intellectually curious mindset. These traits are essential to success in this role, more so, than very specific backgrounds. Previous research experience in an analytical capacity is a definite a plus.
This person will have substantial experience (3-5 years) of working in environments such as philanthropy, either within grant making through family, corporate or independent foundations or possibly within the corporate or investment world where social impact and transformational change is the end goal. As Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Manager, you will lead on the development, management and implementation of evaluation and learning activities.
Working closely with the Programme Manager and Head of Innovation, you will enable the charity to capture insights and learning in relation to the design and delivery of their support offer and analyse data and surface learning around the detail of projects with specific attention to scaling up innovation.
In this newly created role, you will play a central role in shaping the organisational approach to MEL, enabling ongoing reflection and adaptation to drive continuous improvement, and support the embedding of learning in relation to social care innovation and improvement across the charity.
The successful candidate will have significant MEL experience in the charitable sector, Health and Social Care, or Social Change space including both MEL delivery and capacity building and will have proven ability to shape, sustain and lead on MEL activity requiring collaboration with a range of different stakeholders, creating appropriately robust but flexible processes and structures. Technical expertise in both quantitative and qualitative methodologies and the implications of their use for organisations of different scales and in different contexts is vital, as is experience of designing and delivering workshops and training for diverse audiences.

Overall Purpose
Voids - Each year, Look Ahead collects c£21m of rent and service charge from the c3,000 units of property that we own and manage. This amount represents roughly a third of Look Ahead's annual income and therefore it is essential for us to maximise occupancy rates within our properties.
This is a varied opportunity that will see you managing the completion of all void works and ensuring that all properties are let within our Corporate deadlines. Look Ahead manages approx. 1500 units on other landlord's behalf, of which there are approx. 35. You will therefore have strong organisational skills and have the ability to build rapport with our landlords. We also operate across London and the Home counties, and the successful candidate will need to familiarise themselves with our stock quickly and establish effective working relationships with the teams on the ground.

What you'll do:
To promote the concept of enabling customers to make best use of the housing options available to them including social and private lettings.
To work closely with Operational colleagues to ensure that void properties are let within Corporate timeframes.

To plan and co-ordinate all re-housing activity and liaise with the Void team.
