PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To gather the views of adoptive families from within the Yorkshire and Humber region on adoption practice and feed them into the Regional Adoption Agencies in the South Yorkshire area and use these to influence the development of services within Adoption UK.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 To develop and implement a procedure which ensures all adoptive families in the region are aware of and have an opportunity to consider and express views on current and future adoption services.

 To obtain opinions, ideas and input from adoptive families using social media, feedback forms, forums, meetings as well as other mediums available.

The role

We are seeking an organised and proactive Philanthropy and Development Administrator to support the College’s fundraising, donor engagement and development activities. 

Working closely with the Head of Development and wider team, you will provide administrative and operational support across a range of activities, including donor stewardship, fundraising campaigns, CRM management, funding programmes and the College’s Global CARE initiative, which helps address healthcare inequalities worldwide through improved access to safe surgery and patient care.

We launched our Family Support Programme in September 2025, initially as a three year pilot working with families across Wandsworth, with aims to be able to expand and continue the service beyond this. Suicide is the leading cause of death of men under 35 and three quarters of those who die by suicide are men. James’ Place exists to save the lives of men in suicidal crisis through delivering clinical services. We are a charity currently offering free, life-saving therapy to suicidal men at our centres in Liverpool, London and Newcastle.
James’ Place was set up by Clare Milford Haven and Nick Wentworth-Stanley in 2008 after their twenty-one-year-old son, James, died by suicide ten days after a minor operation. James had no history of mental illness or depression and had sought urgent help for anxiety and suicidal thoughts but didn’t find it.   
James' Place was set up to make the experience of finding help as easy as possible. We offer men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis a brief, intensive, therapeutic intervention in a safe environment. Men who walk through the door at James’ Place will be in a space where they feel valued and respected. We provide a calm and peaceful environment both inside the centres and in our outside spaces, accessible to men who visit us as well as their friends and families. THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a new role designed to raise and facilitate fundraising for James’ Place Liverpool and to grow community and voluntary sector relationships across the region to raise awareness of James’ Place to drive referrals to our Liverpool centre.
As part of the Fundraising team, you will take a leading role in building strong networks across Liverpool and the North West, helping to establish our centre as a sustainable source of life-saving support for men in suicidal crisis.

We are looking to enhance our team by recruiting a LGBTQ+ Youth Development and Wellbeing Worker. This will enable us to continue to deliver and expand the services we currently offer with a particular focus on work within Step Forward, youth/community services and local secondary schools.

The Camp staff team consists of counselors, facilitators, activity leaders and a leadership team, all working together to create and implement the camp programme and contribute to an environment of harmony at Camp. The role of Counsellor is to guide and mentor campers in their day to day experience of camp. Counsellors are by campers' side throughout their journey, encouraging and supporting them along the way.

Camper Support and Supervision

• Supervise campers in residential and activity groups, ensuring you know where campers are at all times.
