Purpose of the role:
To provide general all round help and support to the MND branch or group. This is a varied role that would suit a broad spectrum of people.
Responsible to: The Group or The Branch Management Committee (BMC)
Examples of main tasks: Please note: these are examples of the main tasks that could be associated with this role. Tasks can be reviewed according to individual skills, experience and availability of the potential volunteer.

? To assist others members of the branch or group in their volunteer roles to ensure that tasks get completed timely and effectively.

? Helping at support meetings or events and committee/group meetings. This could be in the form of setting up venues, organising refreshments, taking notes, being a general helping hand.

? Administrative tasks such as the circulation of papers/information, making telephone calls, typing, branch or group correspondence etc

? To contribute ideas on future activities and group/branch issues.

? To support the Branch/Group Fundraiser with organising and helping at events, putting up posters, collection boxes.

? To liaise with MND Association staff and other volunteers where necessary.

? To abide by the Association’s policies on information and confidentiality.

Skills or experience
that would be helpful:
? Good organisational skills
? The ability to be Pro-active
? Good communication skills
? Flexible approach
? Knowledge of the local area would be an advantage but not essential
Training and Support: You will be provided with a thorough induction as well as ongoing support from Regional and National Staff and Volunteers.
Expenses: Please note volunteer out of pockets expenses will be reimbursed
Time commitment: Flexible depending on applicant availability. A willingness to attend some Committee meetings would be beneficial.
