Organisation Details:

In September 2025 Trustees agreed that Clifton Learning Partnership would be retained as the official name for all legal purposes but will be known as CLP. Clifton Learning Partnership is a Company Limited by guarantee with no share capital (Company No. 7566749) and a Registered Charity (Charity registration No. 1142675). Both were incorporated in 2011. The articles were revised by special resolution in December 2025. CLP has a trading subsidiary, CLP Homes. CLP Homes owns and rents out 2 houses in Eastwood to local residents and offers additional support to tenants to maintain their tenancies.

The registered address is Zone 1, Erskine Road, Eastwood, Rotherham, S65 1RF.

Objects:

The advancement of education for the public benefit in the United Kingdom, specifically within the socially and economically deprived community of Rotherham East Ward and its environs, particularly Roma people, Eastern European migrants, asylum seekers, refugees and other persons, by working to improve educational attainment, attendance and aspiration of children and the engagement and participation in learning of such children, their parents, carers and families. To develop the capacity and skills of the members of this community in such a way that they are better able to identify and help meet their needs and to participate more fully in society.

About CLP:

CLP rents two adjacent buildings from the Council, Zones 1 and 2. Zone 2 is used primarily for children and young people’s activities and has a fabulous enclosed outdoor play space. Both spaces are recognised as ‘the go to place’ locally for support, help and activities. We are seen as a community anchor organisation.

We continue to interact positively the Local Council from the Leader of the Council, local Councillors to Strategic Leaders and front-line workers. We also are active members of the Children, Young People and Families Consortium and are active across the local VCS.

We work with Roma Support Group nationally especially in relation to EUSS issues but also safeguarding and the Mishto Campaign about fair access to services for Roma people. We also maintain links with the ERRC (European Roma Rights Centre) and Migration Yorkshire.

In terms of staffing we currently employ 13 members of staff (8 full time equivalent) and have about 20 active volunteers at any one time.

Our current programmes:

We are currently in Year 1 of a substantial 3 year grant from The National Lottery. This supports all our work with adults, including advice and support, community skills and community voice development.

We are also funded to deliver services for children and young people, including a playgroup, regular youth clubs and holiday provision. As part of our offer to young people we also support the development of aspirations and progression routes after formal schooling finishes.

We have a social supermarket and a community allotment.
