About us

Who we are

Who we are

Power to Live Foundation is a mental health charity providing affordable, high-quality psychotherapy for people who may otherwise struggle to access support.

We specialise in the latest behavioural and relational therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP) and process-based approaches. Our work helps people build emotional resilience, understand unhelpful patterns, strengthen relationships, and move towards a more meaningful, values-led life.

We provide low-cost menas-tested therapy from £15, and community projects that support connection and wellbeing. Alongside helping clients, we train early-career therapists in evidence-based, compassionate, and relationally focused practice.

Our aim is simple: to make powerful psychological support more accessible, while developing the next generation of skilled and socially conscious therapists.

Our culture and values

At Power to Live Foundation, we believe high-quality therapy should be effective, human, and accessible. Our work is grounded in behavioural science, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and the relational focus of Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP).

We help people build psychological resilience, strengthen relationships, and move towards lives guided by their values, not limited by fear, avoidance, or shame.

Our culture is compassionate, direct, reflective, and collaborative. We value accessibility, integrity, evidence-based practice, emotional honesty, and continual learning. As a small and growing charity, we welcome people who are proactive, relationally aware, and committed to making meaningful therapy available to those who need it most.

Equality, diversity and inclusion policy

At Power to Live Foundation, we are committed to fairness, inclusion, and opposing discrimination in all areas of our work.

We value the diversity of our therapists, trainees, clients, and wider community. Our team brings different cultural backgrounds, lived experiences, identities, and perspectives, which strengthens the quality and sensitivity of the support we provide.

We aim to create a working culture where people are treated with respect, dignity, and openness, regardless of age, disability, gender identity, race, ethnicity, religion or belief, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, or any other protected characteristic.

Our therapeutic approach is contextually sensitive. We do not apply a one-size-fits-all model. Treatment is adapted to the client’s cultural, relational, and social context, recognising that people’s experiences of distress, resilience, family, community, identity, and help-seeking are shaped by the world they live in.

Across our workforce, we promote inclusive recruitment, reflective supervision, ongoing learning, and open conversations about power, difference, and bias. We expect all staff, therapists, trainees, and volunteers to uphold these values and contribute to a culture that is safe, respectful, and actively anti-discriminatory.
