About us

Who we are

The Study Society is a registered charity based at Colet House, a beautiful and historic centre for spiritual exploration, wellbeing and community in West London.

For more than 70 years, the Society has brought people together to explore ways of living with greater awareness, connection and meaning. Today, Colet House hosts a diverse programme of meditation, movement, music, philosophy, spiritual practice, workshops, talks, performances and community events.

We are looking for a creative, energetic and personable Content & Marketing Coordinator to help us tell the story of Colet House, grow our audiences and develop an exciting programme of events and collaborations.

This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who is as comfortable filming an event for Instagram as they are approaching a potential new facilitator, developing a campaign or helping bring an event to life.

Our culture and values

The Study Society is a small, friendly and values-led charity with a strong sense of community. Based at Colet House in West London, we bring together people from a wide range of backgrounds to explore spiritual practice, wellbeing, creativity and ways of living with greater awareness.

Our culture is open, inclusive and collaborative. We value kindness, integrity, curiosity and mutual respect, and aim to create an environment where staff, volunteers, teachers and visitors feel welcomed and valued.

We are a relatively small team, so we work flexibly and practically, supporting one another and taking shared responsibility for making things happen. We encourage initiative and new ideas, while respecting the history and traditions that have shaped the Society over more than 70 years.

Above all, we want Colet House to be a warm, welcoming and thoughtful place to work — one where people can contribute their skills, be themselves and feel that their work has genuine purpose.

Equality, diversity and inclusion policy

The Study Society is committed to creating an inclusive environment in which everyone is treated with dignity, fairness and respect.

We welcome and value diversity across our staff, trustees, volunteers, teachers, members and wider community. We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment or unfair treatment on the basis of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by law.

We aim to ensure that our recruitment, employment practices and opportunities for development are fair and accessible, and that decisions are based on skills, experience and the requirements of the role.

As a charity bringing together people from many different backgrounds, traditions and perspectives, we believe that openness, respect and inclusion are fundamental to our work. We are committed to listening, learning and continually improving our practices so that everyone who works with or visits The Study Society feels welcome and valued.
