We are seeking an experienced Finance Officer. This is a job for an extremely organised, confident and proactive multi-tasker, it requires an abundance of energy, resourcefulness and a keen eye for detail. The ability to prioritise effectively and communicate efficiently is key.
As Finance Officer you will be undertaking the following tasks:
- Managing payroll and pension function and ensuring all returns and payments are made accurately and on time.
- Managing purchase ledger invoices, expenses, and credit notes.
- Preparing and posting weekly and monthly supplier payment runs in GBP and other currencies.
- Reconciling supplier statements and bank accounts, resolving any discrepancies.
- Reconciling monthly credit card accounts and post to relevant expenditure codes.
- Reconciling all card sales transactions
- Identifying opportunities to claim Gift Aid and process and manage all gift aid claims
- Assisting with accruals, prepayments, and month-end processing leading to management accounts.
- Participating in the preparation of statutory accounts and compile relevant schedules and analysis.

Contract: Full Time Permanent
Salary: £24,000-26,500
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week - part time hours would be considered

As Sponsorship and Fundraising Assistant you will successfully contribute to the winning of sponsorship from existing and new clients and managing sponsor and Patron and Benefactor relationships for Hay Festival,UK. The post has a particular focus on generating income from event sponsors locally and regionally, as well as successfully managing the selling of exhibition spaces at Hay Festivals in the UK.
As part of this job you will:
- Cultivate, manage and develop successful relationships with existing and new sponsors, with a focus on relationships up to £5k
- Identify and define on a local, regional and national level new and emerging sponsorship opportunities.

This interesting role will support the theatre’s ambition to increase our revenue fundraising and development capabilities. In particular the post holder will be responsible for researching, cultivating, preparing applications for and stewarding Charitable Trusts and Foundations to raise funds for our Community and Outreach work and Play Your Part capital campaign. The focus will be on grants of up to £5,000. The post will also offer administrative support to the department focused on mid-level giving (Vanbrugh Supporters and Guardian Angels).
The post holder will be responsible for the accurate recording of income related to Trusts and Foundations, working closely with the Head of Creative Learning and Director of Development (DoD) to identify fundable propositions within the theatre. You will assist in the planning and delivery of donor events for Vanbrugh Supporters, Guardian Angels and current and potential Major Donors, helping to ensure a culture of continuous cultivation and engagement. You will work closely with the DoD to enable the charity’s artistic, community and organisational aspirations.
This post is full time, though for the right candidate, a pro-rata 4-day equivalent will be considered.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Database and record keeping
· Assisting in the maintaining of donor records on the CRM.
· Recording and reporting on donor activity as directed.
· Responsible for maintaining financial data, and production of written and verbal reports as directed.
Office administration
· First point of contact for external enquiries.
· Internal liaison with the Marketing Office and Finance Office.
· Assist within the Development Department, carrying out other duties as reasonably required.

Fundraising
· Write applications and evaluation reports to Trusts and Foundations for grants up to £5k in support of the theatre’s activity with a major focus on the work of the Creative Learning Programme.

· Work with the Marketing Office and Finance Office to provide funding information for promotional purposes and to report gifts and grants received.

· As required, assist with the production of case for support literature for funding applications.
· Gather briefing and background information for face-to-face prospect meetings.
· Assist with cultivation and stewardship events as required.

· Working with the DoD and Fundraising Associate to increase the number and value of Vanbrugh supporters annually to agreed targets, ensuring regular communications with donors and Vanbrugh members to enable them to recognise the importance of their support including the quarterly newsletter, Centre Stage.
· Stewardship and cultivation of the Guardian Angels, the theatre’s regular giving scheme for lower-level donors. Working with colleagues aiming to increase the number of Guardian Angels annually and increasing their base level donations.
· Work with colleagues in Box Office, Marketing, Catering and Front of House in the facilitation of events for the department and encourage and support a culture of fundraising within the Theatre.

Charity People are thrilled to be recruiting on behalf of Hertford Castle Greenspace Renewal to find them a passionate and solutions focused Community Engagement Officer to see the project through the reminder of the development phase over the coming months. Some exciting changes are in motion for the greenspace at Hertford Castle, with nearly £350,000 being awarded to develop plans for nature conservation, heritage preservation and infrastructure improvements. Hertford Castle Greenspace Renewal project has been made possible thanks to the National Lottery Heritage Fund, thank you to National Lottery players. HCGR is an exciting project, working in partnership with East Herts District Council, Hertford Town Council and Hertfordshire County Council's Countryside Management Service.
The successful postholder will be responsible for the delivery of a programme of engagement activities to promote the Hertford Castle Greenspace Renewal project. You will develop an innovative community engagement programme, with particular focus on audiences of priority, including those who do not currently visit or engage with the site, and you will ensure you are proactively removing any barriers to reach new and diverse audiences. This will involve delivering some events that are already being prepared for, setting up programme focus groups for volunteers and stakeholders, and developing networks to build engagement with, such as local schools, cultural, heritage and community groups.
Other duties include:
- Develop Activity Plan and Interpretation Plan for submission as part of the National Lottery Heritage Fund Delivery Phase application.
- Responsible for high visibility acknowledgement of the National Lottery Heritage Fund on site, online and in all activities as well as using the project to acknowledge and thank National Lottery Players.
- Deliver geophysical surveying public event.
- Deliver and evaluate visitor observation surveys.
- Undertake consultation with stakeholders and the wider public to inform them of delivery phase proposals.

The ideal candidate will be an allrounder, with excellent project management skills, a strong communicator, who can easily build relationships with stakeholders and communities. Skilled in identifying new funding and partnership opportunities, you will bring experience of creative writing to aid writing compelling bid proposals. Ideally you will have proven knowledge and experience of delivering externally funded projects and working within reporting frameworks, budgets and timescales.
You will be available to work some evenings and weekends (to be arranged by the successful post holder) for the focus groups, maybe some evenings in March and the key BioBlitz event on Sunday 23rd March. Please note, time off in lieu for any work out of your working hours.

The Museums Association is seeking a part-time (18 hours per week spread over 3 or 4 days Monday to Thursday) Health and Wellbeing in Museums Project Officer to deliver the Health and Wellbeing in Museums Fund, supported by the Julia Rausing Trust, for 24 months.
The fund is a grants programme supporting UK museums to develop and continue sector-leading health and wellbeing work through a time of financial crisis and to embed excellent practice.
The project officer is at the centre of this programme as advisor and facilitator for museum applicants and grantees; lead for comms and learning dissemination in the UK museum sector; and link to external evaluators to understand and enhance the impact of this programme.
The project officer will report to the grants manager and work closely with her on programme development. While the role is fixed term for two years, there is potential to continue working on monitoring and evaluation at a reduced level at the end of this period.
The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of the museums sector and be a great listener and communicator. You’ll be excited by the prospect of championing best practice in health and wellbeing in museums. Management Accountant required for a prestigious Not-for-Profit organisation in central London. The role will be responsible for leading the month end process, budgeting, forecasting and supporting stakeholders with financial management.
We are looking for candidates to demonstrate relevant experience of leading the preparation of management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis in a charity/not-for-profit/public sector setting.
