About Dons Local Action Group
Dons Local Action Group (DLAG) is a community-powered charity born out of the COVID-19 crisis. What started as neighbours helping neighbours has grown into a lasting movement across Merton, Wandsworth and Kingston, supporting local people facing poverty, hardship and isolation.
Every day, we work alongside volunteers to ensure that families have food on the table, children have access to education, and households have the essential items they need to live with dignity. From emergency food support and household goods to furniture, appliances and laptops through our Keep Kids Connected programme, we help people overcome immediate challenges and build more stable futures.
The impact of our community is remarkable. In the last three years alone, DLAG has distributed enough food for more than 7 million meals, provided 3,000 laptops to children and young people, and helped furnish hundreds of homes for people starting over after difficult circumstances.
None of this would be possible without our incredible volunteer network. More than 2,000 volunteers have given their time, skills and compassion to support local people, and volunteers remain at the heart of everything we do.
