About us

Who we are

Pathway to Protection CIC is a newly established Community Interest Company dedicated to improving access to support, safety and protection for victims and survivors of domestic abuse.

Our vision is to develop a trusted single point of contact and coordinated referral pathway, helping individuals affected by domestic abuse navigate the different services they may need at what can be an extremely difficult time in their lives.

We aim to receive referrals from the police, domestic abuse refuges, local authorities, social services, healthcare providers, community organisations and other statutory and voluntary-sector agencies.

Following appropriate initial assessment and safeguarding, individuals will be supported and signposted or referred to appropriate specialist services. These may include refuge and housing support, advocacy, counselling and emotional support, welfare assistance, healthcare and specialist legal advice and representation.

Where legal assistance is required, we intend to establish a transparent and independent panel of suitably experienced solicitors and law firms, enabling individuals to access appropriate specialist legal support while preserving client choice.

Pathway to Protection CIC is currently in its development phase. We are building the policies, safeguarding framework, partnerships, referral pathways and funding arrangements required to establish a professional, sustainable and accessible service.

Our ultimate aim is simple: to help ensure that no person experiencing domestic abuse is left to navigate the pathway to safety, support and protection alone.

Our culture and values

At Pathway to Protection CIC, our culture is built around compassion, dignity, safety, integrity and empowerment.

We recognise that individuals affected by domestic abuse may approach services at an extremely vulnerable and difficult time. We believe everyone should be listened to without judgement, treated with dignity and respect, and supported to make informed choices about their own circumstances and future.

Safety and safeguarding are at the heart of everything we aim to do. We are committed to responsible working practices that prioritise the wellbeing, confidentiality and protection of those who seek support.

We value integrity, transparency and independence and believe that the interests and choices of the individuals we support must remain central to decision-making.

We also believe strongly in collaboration. Effective support for victims and survivors of domestic abuse often requires statutory, voluntary, community and professional organisations to work together. We therefore aim to build constructive partnerships and promote effective multi-agency working.

Within our own team, we want to create a culture that is inclusive, supportive and professional, where people are encouraged to contribute ideas, take responsibility, learn from experience and help shape the organisation as it develops.

Above all, we are united by a commitment to making a positive and lasting difference in the lives of people affected by domestic abuse.

Equality, diversity and inclusion policy

Pathway to Protection CIC is committed to creating a workplace where equality, diversity, inclusion and respect are embedded in the way we recruit, work and develop as an organisation.

We are committed to providing equal opportunities and to ensuring that employees, applicants, volunteers and others working with us are treated fairly, with dignity and respect, and without discrimination, harassment or victimisation.

We do not tolerate discrimination on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation, or on any other unlawful basis.

Recruitment, training, development and progression opportunities will be based on an individual's skills, experience, abilities and suitability for the role. We value the different perspectives and experiences that people from diverse backgrounds can bring to our organisation.

We are committed to making reasonable adjustments for disabled applicants and employees and to identifying and addressing unnecessary barriers to participation wherever reasonably possible.

As an organisation supporting people affected by domestic abuse, we recognise the importance of understanding different experiences, cultures and circumstances. We want our workforce and working practices to reflect the principles of fairness, inclusion, compassion and respect that underpin our wider mission.

Everyone working with Pathway to Protection CIC will be expected to uphold these principles and contribute to an environment in which people feel respected, valued, safe and able to contribute fully.
