Who we are

Every young person deserves the chance to thrive, and cancer should never hold them back.

Teens Unite is a national charity, headquartered in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, supporting 13-24-year-olds from across the UK who are living with, and beyond, cancer.

While more young people are surviving cancer than ever before, the impact of cancer extends far beyond treatment, affecting mental health, friendships, education and future employment opportunities.

Through activities, programmes and residential stays, we provide ongoing emotional, social and mental wellbeing support that helps young people rebuild confidence, develop new skills, make lasting friendships and recognise their potential beyond cancer.

Last year alone, we provided more than 2,000 opportunities for young people to access our support, with 91% reporting improved wellebing and feeling more positive about life beyond cancer.

We are also building England's first purpose-built retreat for teenagers and young adults overcoming cancer, a first-of-its-kind facility that will enable us to almost triple our impact over the next decade.

Our culture and values

Teens Unite is a small team with a big ambition for the young people we support. We bring different skills, experience, and perspectives to our work, but share a commitment to doing it well and to continually learning how we can do it better.

We trust people to use their expertise, contribute ideas, and take responsibility. We invest in learning and development, encourage people to build relationships and knowledge beyond the organisation, and create opportunities for individuals to grow, lead, and innovate. We work collaboratively, support one another, and recognise that, in a small team, everyone has a part to play.

Most importantly, we never lose sight of why we are here. The experiences and voices of young people living with and beyond cancer shape our work. For us, listening isn't the end point; what we do with what we hear matters. Everyone at Teens Unite plays a part in turning that understanding into better opportunities, experiences, and outcomes for the young people we support.

We recognise that inclusion requires more than treating everyone in exactly the same way, so we seek to understand individual needs, remove unnecessary barriers, and make reasonable adjustments where appropriate.
