Job description

Looking for a rewarding role with a growing campaigning organisation? We are seeking an experienced campaigner to establish and manage a presence for Campaign Against Arms Trade in Scotland for the first time.

This new four day a week role will build on CAAT’s work in Scotland in three areas:

  • Leading on CAAT’s engagement and advocacy with the Scottish Government and public authorities.

  • Supporting and building local groups in Scotland and working with them and other NGOs to develop local campaigns.

  • Increasing public awareness of CAAT and the international arms trade in Scotland.

This is a great opportunity for a highly self motivated person with broad campaigning, outreach and advocacy experience, interested in working for a better approach to global security. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator, able to prioritise a varied workload and work in a non-hierarchical setting.

You will either be working from home, or from a shared working space, with regular coordination and occasional visits to a London office. This post is on a fixed term 18-month contract.

Campaign Against Arms Trade (CAAT) is a growing non-hierarchical UK-based organisation working to end the destructive force that is the international arms trade. The arms business has a devastating impact on human rights and security, and damages economic development.

The deadline for receiving application forms is midnight, Sunday 15 March.

If you would like to make a positive impact working alongside colleagues committed to ending the arms trade, we would love to hear from you.
