About The Role
We’re WWT, the charity for wetlands and wildlife. We’re on a mission to restore wetlands because they are a wondrous solution to our world's problems. Together we will unlock their power – and help nature burst back to life. Because when wetlands flourish, all life will flourish. We lead the way, bring life and inspire connection.
Volunteers are integral to the running of our Welney centre and without their help we wouldn’t be able to welcome our visitors to this amazing wetland. Your role will be helping to bring people of all ages and backgrounds closer to wetland wildlife, by providing assistance to visitors and encouraging them to explore the site and learn about WWT’s pioneering wetland conservation work, to save wetlands for wildlife and people. You’ll support the delivery of excellent customer service for the retail and membership team, inspiring people to support us as members of the WWT, and be a warm and welcoming face for our cause.
We are looking for volunteers who can ideally give one day a week, exact hours to be agreed.
Volunteers are an essential part of the WWT team. You'll get a warm welcome, including information on training, equipment and anything else you need.

About You
This role will suit you if you have a positive, friendly, can-do attitude, and are committed to delivering excellent customer service. Having, or being happy to develop, the confidence to engage our visitors of all ages simply and effectively around their needs is also an essential part of this role, being a good communicator in English (other languages are also useful!).
You’ll have a real interest in and enthusiasm for WWT’s work, nature and the outdoors and will be happy to develop this to share with others in a variety of ways: promoting membership; attending briefing sessions and familiarising yourself with events, activities, sightings and developments at the centre; and on a day-to-day basis, answering visitor questions, helping them to navigate what’s on offer. Welney has a close-working team, and much of the time you will be working in a group, however, the ability to work under your own initiative and being self-motivated at other times is also needed.

Time commitment? We are looking for volunteers who can ideally commit to one day across the week. Shifts are negotiable, with suitable breaks. After completing training and an induction for this role, we ask volunteers to spend a minimum of 6 months volunteering with WWT Welney.
You’ll get a warm welcome, including information on training, equipment and other information you need. This will include risk assessments based on your role and any particular support you need. Volunteers receive access to our sites, and discounts in our shops and cafes. Some roles include a uniform or require the use of equipment or protective clothing. If you are based at a particular site or office location, you’ll need to be able to get yourself there and back. Information on locations can be found on our website. We will keep you up to date with what’s happening across WWT and the difference you will be helping to make happen.

About The Role
Volunteers are integral to the running of our Welney reserve and visitor centre and without their help we wouldn’t be able to welcome our visitors to this amazing 1300 acre wetland of international importance. Our volunteer team are friendly and committed, and say they benefit by gaining new experiences, meeting new people and sharing the story of our work.
At WWT Welney Wetland Centre we want to ensure that our visitors receive a warm, friendly welcome to ensure they have a memorable visit to our Visitor Centre and Reserve. In this role, you will be helping to bring people of all ages and backgrounds closer to wetland wildlife, by providing assistance for visitors to explore the reserve and learn about WWT’s pioneering wetland conservation work, to save wetlands for wildlife and people. In this role you will support the delivery of a range of interactive visitor engagement activities, including guided walks, and other seasonal activities, drawing people in by telling engaging stories about our work and inspiring people to support us as members of the WWT.
On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be answering visitor questions, helping them to navigate the reserve, and identifying basic wildlife. You'll get regular briefings to keep you up to date with what's going on at the centre, and we can offer coaching to help you feel more confident talking to our visitors and leading guided activities.

Time commitment? We are looking for volunteers who can ideally commit to one day a week on a regular basis. Shifts are from 9.15am to 3pm, with suitable breaks. However, we will mutually agree the hours that you can contribute.

We are looking for trustees who reflect the different communities served by Thirtyone:eight and bring a range of skills and expertise that will assist us in achieving our mission and vision.
We are particularly keen to appoint trustees who are based in, or who have relevant knowledge of operating in, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
We welcome applications from all ethnic minority groups and age-groups.
We are specifically looking for trustees with experience in the one or more of the following areas:
- IT
- Fundraising and Campaigning
- Marketing, Communications and PR
Commitment
Trustees currently meet as a full Board four times per year, one of which is in person and includes an overnight stay. The remaining meetings are conducted online and times vary to assist attendance of all members. In addition to full Board meetings, trustees will be strongly encouraged to participate in committees and working groups, which again are held remotely. An invitation is also extended to all trustees to attend an annual team event which includes an overnight stay.

Yorkshire Cat Rescue - Retail Drivers Mate

Aims & Expectations:
Ensure safe transport of goods and maintain a tidy shop floor.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Help with loading and unloading, sorting items, carrying out deliveries and pick-ups.
Role Boundaries:
No driving required.
Key Policies: Health & safety, manual handling, data privacy, PPE.
Role Support: Report to the Driver, induction and training provided.
Friendly and approachable staff members are available and will assist volunteers in everything they do.

Smooth transfer of stock, organised collections, packing, and postdelivery.

Role Overview
Joining a dynamic and passionate Board, the ideal candidate will provide expert oversight, guidance, and support for the Charity’s strategic objectives and as Chair of the People & Remuneration Committee, work closely with senior leadership on current and future strategic People (HR) matters.
Key responsibilities
- Provide Board level oversight, support and challenge of Migrant Help’s strategic objective of being a ‘Great Place to Work’
- Contribute constructively to the charity’s strategic plans, progress and decision making
- Chair the People & Remuneration Committee effectively, developing the meeting agenda with the People & Culture Director
- Lead on people matters at Board meetings in relation to the charity and its trading subsidiary Migrant Help Trading Limited (MHTL).
- Work in partnership with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team
- Oversee the governance of People (HR) Risk
- Provide input on organisational policies in line with best practice and employment legislation
- Act as an ambassador for the charity to external bodies, corporate partners and major donors
- Trustees share collective responsibility for the charity’s governance, ensuring the charity’s mission is achieved and its operations are effective. Trustees support the CEO by contributing to strategic planning, offering expertise, and working together to provide the necessary oversight and direction for the charity’s growth and success.
The skills and abilities you need
- Senior strategic leadership and management experience
- Demonstrable expertise in people & culture, strategy, recognition, reward and organisational development
- An inclusive leader, with good interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Independent judgement and strong communication skills
- Act with integrity and respect when working with others.
- Previous experience as a trustee (desirable).

Mandatory Training Requirement
The Safeguarding Trustee must complete trustee governance and safeguarding training within the first three months of appointment. Additional training will follow as needed.
Terms of Appointment
- Trustees serve an initial three-year term, with the option for renewal up to a maximum of a second term of three years.
- All trustees must complete governance and safeguarding training within the first three months of appointment. Additional training available as required.
- This position is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and references.
- Unremunerated, reasonable expenses reimbursed
Time Commitment:
- 8 hours per month, including:

Volunteer Cat Fosterers Needed
Do you have a safe, calm, and caring home where a cat in need could stay while we help them find their fur-ever home? The RSPCA is looking for new volunteer fosterers to join our team and provide temporary care for cats — from strays and abandoned pets to even feral cats who need patient, understanding fosterers.
What you’ll be doing:
