Job description

The Compassionate Friends (TCF) is the only nationwide UK charity founded over 50 years ago providing peer support to bereaved parents and their families whose child has died at any age and from any cause. We also provide information on parental and sibling bereavement to professionals and other organisations.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small team and make a real difference to the income and growth of our charity.  We are looking for an exceptional individual to develop, implement and manage community and events fundraising for our growing charity.  Working closely with the Head of Fundraising you will be able to demonstrate your skills and proven experience in:

• Delivering income growth in a fundraising events or community fundraising setting (preferably both)

• Producing tailored resources and new opportunities for event and community fundraising participants

• Maximising the use of online fundraising tools, digital marketing and social media.

• Developing exemplary supporter stewardship, to cultivate, build and strengthen relationships with funders

Persuasive, engaging and creative writing will be hugely important in this role, as well as high degree of numeracy skills and exceptional attention to detail. Your highly developed communication skills with supporters will ensure that those you interact with will have an exceptional experience and return to continue their fundraising for the charity.

You will need strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically. Experience of project management, monitoring, evaluation and running projects to deadline is highly desirable.

You will be entrepreneurial in approach and results driven – able to work on your own initiative or as part of a team, meeting deadlines under pressure.

You will also relish taking ownership over your work, with an ambitious drive to progress fundraising streams within TCF.

We are committed to having a diverse and inclusive workplace and warmly and strongly encourage suitably qualified applicants from a broad range of backgrounds and experiences to apply and join us.

To apply for this post, send your CV with a one page cover letter/statement explaining why you are interested in, and meet the criteria for, joining The Compassionate Friends in this particular role.
