Digital Trustee

Main responsibilities 

• Provide thought leadership on the role of digital in Easing Anxieties’ fundraising, marketing, communications, and help build and implement this vision.

• Highlight the opportunities and the risks of digital, in terms of our strategy in general, and in reference to [project name] in particular.

• Translate the risks and opportunities of digital for other trustees, to enable the board as a whole to engage in an informed way.

• Take the lead in evaluating proposals for the future of Easing Anxieties for the board.

• Provide strategic oversight of Easing Anxieties implementation.

• Champion the use of data in board discussions, and in driving the delivery and improvement of marketing/communications.

Terms of appointment

Terms of office

• Trustees are appointed for a [2] year term of office, renewal for [2] further terms to a maximum of [10] years.

• This is a voluntary position, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

Time commitment

• Attending [4] Board meetings annually. Currently meetings are held remotely.

• You will be a member of a sub-committee which will meet [6] times in a year.

About the Role

As a committee member, you will:

Our Volunteer led branches operate within local communities nationwide and rely on funds donated by generous members of the public to continue to help cats and kittens in need of new homes, supporting owners with neutering, managing trap, neuter and return programmes and educating people about cat welfare. 

Our fundraising volunteers are part of a passionate team that help raise funds to help cats. They help plan and deliver exciting and varied fundraising events, which can be anything from craft fairs, cake sales, sponsored abseils – and anything in between!

A community-driven organisation, our mission at Remakery Oxford is to foster a circular economy approach to waste in Oxford. Through creativity, skill-sharing and collaboration, we transform waste into art and function, providing an antidote to fast fashion and single-use culture.

Our focus is to help shift mindsets around sustainability, consumption and top-down mass production.  Through workshops, talks and podcasts, we encourage experimentation, social innovation and education, driving forward the idea that anyone can curate art, function and fashion with minimal planetary impact.

Our next goal is to establish a studio for those who lack the space and tools to work independently. With the support of our volunteer team we hope to provide a collaborative space in exchange for skills sharing in the community.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Website Designer to help us transition our current website onto the IONOS website builder platform and significantly enhance its visibility through effective SEO strategies. This role is ideal for someone with experience in web design who would like to support a thriving community arts organisation and contribute to increasing our reach and impact.

You’ll work both independently and collaboratively with our team, ensuring the website aligns visually and strategically with our brand, communications, and accessibility goals.

We will consider applicants who wish to hold a temporary position (12 weeks minimum).

Key Responsibilities:

• Rebuild and restructure our existing website using the IONOS website builder

• Improve site navigation, layout, page structure, and user experience

• Optimise all pages for SEO performance, including keywords, metadata, and search visibility

• Ensure mobile optimisation and fast loading performance

• Integrate analytics tools to monitor site traffic and user engagement

• Coordinate with our PR and social media teams so the site aligns with ongoing campaigns and messaging

What we need from you

This is a really flexible role, you can choose what you’d like to get involved with, for example: 

• face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins 

• online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations

• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press  

• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork

● championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement

● photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection

Time expectation

This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments to suit you. You’ll be part of a team raising vital funds while having fun in the process!

A bit about this role:

As a charity we can help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations from our supporters. Raising funds is a key role in our charity, helping to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need.

As a fundraising volunteer, we will support you every step of the way to ensure your time at Cats Protection is a positive and rewarding one. Whatever time you can give really does make a big difference We have lots of exciting activities to choose from for example attending a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, handling administrative tasks, or contributing to the development of new fundraising ideas. Whatever your skill set, this role could be perfect for you!

What can you expect to be doing?

As a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following:

• face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with fundraising events, attending supermarket collections and monitoring collection boxes.
• online fundraising – assisting with online appeals, increasing social media engagement to maximise funds raised.
• bringing new ideas! We always love to come up with new ideas to raise funds for cats and we’d love to help bring yours to life.
• engaging with your local branch and Fundraising Hub and feeling like an integral part of the team.

You’ll also have the chance to meet new people and be part of a dedicated team of volunteers. Money raised by our volunteers enables us to put cats first. Cats are at the centre of all we do. We care for them, ensure their welfare, and help others to understand and better support them.

Time expectation

This role is very flexible, often certain times of the year are busier than others. You can choose your level of involvement to suit your schedule.

Support, guidance and keeping you safe

At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. We offer engaging online and face-to-face training, expenses and have policies and processes to help volunteers get the most out of their time with us.

Skills and Experience 

They are seeking three new Trustees with expertise in one or more of the following areas: 

• Finance – ideally with experience in financial oversight or charity finance at board or senior level. 

• Human Resources – typically at executive or board level. 

• Commissioning, Audit & Risk, or Digital Transformation. 

Our client welcomes applications from individuals who share their vision and values and can bring diverse perspectives. 

Commitment

• Term: Three years, renewable up to six years. 

• Approximately one day per month (Board meetings, committees, AGM, and strategic away day). 

• Most meetings are held remotely by Teams however approximately two per year will be held in person, usually these are the AGM and away days. 

The closing date for applications is 12th December 2025 with interviews to be held early January 2026.
