Hestia is seeking a Non-Trustee Member to join our Data, Digital & IT Committee, providing strategic oversight and expert advice on technology, data governance, and cyber security.

About the Role

As a committee member, you will:

• Advise on digital strategy, IT risk management, and emerging technologies.
• Ensure robust data governance, cyber security, and compliance frameworks.
• Support ethical and effective adoption of digital tools, including AI.
• Translate technical risks and opportunities for non-technical trustees.
• Contribute to strategic decisions that enhance service delivery and sustainability.

What We’re Looking For

• Senior-level experience in digital and technology leadership, ideally at Board level.
• Expertise in IT strategy, cyber security, digital transformation, and ideally AI.
• Strong understanding of data protection, digital ethics, and regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly and collaboratively.

Time Commitment

• Attend 4 committee meetings per year plus the AGM.
• Additional time for preparation and occasional project work.
• This is voluntary unpaid role.​

The Board of Trustees is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity, developing the CLAPA’s aims, objectives and goals in accordance with the governing document, legal and regulatory guidelines. You would be joining our board at an exciting time, as we implement our new 5-year strategy for 2025-2030.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organise and deliver creative fundraising activities (raffles, online quizzes, challenge events, etc.)

• Engage and support individual fundraisers (e.g. sponsored runners, event hosts)

• Act as a key contact for fundraising volunteers providing encouragement, advice, and practical support

• Develop and maintain a central fundraising tracker (Excel or similar)

• Log all fundraising activity, targets, and deadlines

• Collaborate with our social media volunteer to promote campaigns

• Support recruitment and onboarding of new fundraising volunteers

Our fundraising volunteers are part of a passionate team that help raise funds to help cats. They help plan and deliver exciting and varied fundraising events, which can be anything from craft fairs, cake sales, sponsored abseils – and anything in between!

Who we are

A community-driven organisation, our mission at Remakery Oxford is to foster a circular economy approach to waste in Oxford. Through creativity, skill-sharing and collaboration, we transform waste into art and function, providing an antidote to fast fashion and single-use culture.

Our focus is to help shift mindsets around sustainability, consumption and top-down mass production.  Through workshops, talks and podcasts, we encourage experimentation, social innovation and education, driving forward the idea that anyone can curate art, function and fashion with minimal planetary impact.

Our next goal is to establish a studio for those who lack the space and tools to work independently. With the support of our volunteer team we hope to provide a collaborative space in exchange for skills sharing in the community.

What we need help with

We have flexible volunteer opportunities for anyone who shares our passion for circularity and is willing to uphold our values. It may suit you if you work part time, are out of work, are retired, on parental leave or are a student. There's no minimum time commitment.

We are looking for volunteers in these areas:

Running Events - Creative types who want to run workshops and other events themed around circularity, reuse, repair and reimagination.

Marketing, Content & Outreach - Social Media, Creative Writing, Video Editing, Infographics, Event Promotion.

Organising Events - Planning, Promoting, Venues, Flyers, Coordinating attendance.

We are seeking a methodical, security-minded volunteer to keep our digital estate reliable, fast, and accessible. You’ll be the go-to person for our website and light technical administration - balancing day-to-day maintenance with small improvement projects that make a visible difference.

Key responsibilities

Website (primary)

• Maintain and update our CMS (e.g. WordPress), including core, theme, and plugin updates, and manage staging/production releases.

• Publish and tidy content (pages, posts, images), ensuring brand consistency and WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility.

• Monitor performance and uptime; investigate issues and optimise Core Web Vitals.

• Manage backups, security scans, and incident logs; liaise with hosts when required.

• Implement privacy and cookie compliance (CMP), and maintain policies (privacy, cookies, accessibility).

• Track performance with Google Analytics 4 and Search Console; support basic SEO (metadata, redirects, indexing).

Technical administration (supporting)

• Look after domains, DNS, and SSL/TLS certificate renewals.

Role Overview
As a Volunteer Fundraiser at Barefoot and Free, you will be reuired to come up with fun ideas to fundraise, be able to engage people to fundraise and encourage new supporters.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and execute virtual and in-person fundraising events (eg raffles, quizzes, sponsored challenges)

 About HIAS+JCORE

HIAS+JCORE is the UK Jewish response to refuge and asylum. Our vision is a UK where refugees can live in dignity, in a society free from racism. This work is driven by the belief that the Jewish community should play an active part in empowering refugees to thrive.

Our organisation came into this form through the joining of operations between two organisations: the UK-based JCORE (Jewish Council for Racial Equality) and HIAS, a global humanitarian aid and advocacy organisation. HIAS+JCORE is inspired by Jewish values and history to support those who are displaced, no matter their background.

Role purpose

The Fundraising Trustee will bring expertise, insight, and strategic guidance to help the charity strengthen and diversify its income. Working with the Board and staff/volunteers, they will ensure fundraising is ethical, sustainable, and aligned with the charity’s mission and values.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the overall governance of the charity as a member of the Board of Trustees.
• Provide advice and support on fundraising strategy, ensuring income generation is realistic and compliant with regulation.
• Act as a fundraising champion on HIAS+JCORE’s board, working with and supporting other trustees to explore fundraising possibilities.
• If networks for fundraising exist, use them to support the work of the charity.
• Support the development of diverse fundraising streams (e.g. individual giving, trusts and foundations, community fundraising, corporate support) and advise and support with appeals and major fundraising events/campaigns.
• Ensure compliance with fundraising regulation and best practice, including the Code of Fundraising Practice, and through HIAS+JCORE’s policies and procedures.
• Act as an ambassador for the charity, promoting its work and helping to raise its profile.

Person specification

Essential:

• Commitment to the charity’s mission and values.
• Understanding of the legal duties and responsibilities of charity trusteeship.
• Knowledge and experience of fundraising (e.g. trusts, corporates, major donors, community fundraising, or digital campaigns).
• Strategic thinker, able to balance long-term planning with practical advice.
• Strong communication and networking skills.

Desirable:

• Experience of fundraising in a small charity context.
• Existing networks that could support the charity’s fundraising efforts.
• Understanding of charity finance and/or marketing.

Over 670 million people face chronic undernourishment, often due to poor access to finance, climate shocks, and inefficient food systems leading to significant waste.

The startup champions local innovation, believing communities hold the best solutions but lack the support to scale. dmtr focuses on building an equitable, climate-resilient agri-food system by empowering early-stage innovators and social startups through a three-pillar approach: Educate (creating content on food system challenges), Inspire (connecting entrepreneurs with mentors and investors through workshops), and Enable (securing funding and visibility from impact investors).

By fostering this ecosystem, dmtr helps locally developed, technology-driven solutions gain the resources needed to scale, strengthen local economies, and build resilience against global challenges.

Fundraising & Development Lead

Purpose: Drives all fundraising efforts including donor engagement, grant applications, and funding partnerships

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and pursue funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, institutions, and individuals.
• Write and manage grant applications and donor reports.
• Build donor pipelines and steward relationships.
• Collaborate on campaign messaging and fundraising events

Essential Skills:

• Grant writing, impact fundraising, donor relations
• Familiarity with the social innovation and AgTech funding landscape
